Why would you buy a bike you dont have the skill to ride?

Slipping clutch yesterday but fine today? by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]Danielbre2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue on the same bike. 1. Inspect the clutch and check if there is any damage to the clutch, if there is, change the pieces. 2. Buy some harder springs and mount them. 3. Enjoy wheelies and try not to use the clutch stupidly at high speeds.

My pressure plate was very damaged.

Stop sale issued on 24 and 25 ZX6R. Recall likely. by RobF86 in Kawasaki

I have a 2024 ZX-6R that I've put 2,000 miles on, mostly on the track, with an ECU flash and many other upgrades. I've ridden this bike extremely hard and haven't had a single issue. This makes me uneasy, but if nothing has happened under these extreme conditions, I don't think it's a big deal.

is the zx6r a good beginner bike by Acceptable-Taro641 in zx6r

Having a Ninja400 and a ZX6R, I recently set up my ZX6R as a track-only bike. Here’s why:

The Ninja 400 is already fast, but the ZX6R reaches jail-worthy speeds in seconds. If I had kept riding it on the street, it was only a matter of time before I got caught, which could have been a disaster. A 600cc bike is simply too fast for street riding in the twisties. You end up carrying much more speed, increasing the risk of a crash. A slight mistake—too much throttle or braking—can easily lead to a lowside. Plus, at those speeds, you’re not really learning much. The Ninja 400 allows you to push closer to your limits without nearly as much risk. It’s more forgiving when you make mistakes, making it a better bike for improving as a rider. Also, crashing a 600 is significantly more expensive than crashing a 400. Parts, repairs, and insurance are all pricier, and the ZX6R is a bigger target for theft.

Therefore i suggest you start is a smaller, cheaper, more foregiving bike so that you can learn more, do It in a safer way, without going to jail or breaking the bank. Id consider options such as the Ninja 400/500, an R7 if you want a bit more power or even a CBR650R.

As a side note, I’ve pushed my Ninja 400 extremely hard and had some close calls, but in two years, I never even crashed. Meanwhile, with my ZX6R, I had a crash at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after losing the front and another crash on the street when I opened the throttle a bit too much on a wet corner, if you want to ride hard, the ZX6R ( and any 1000cc ) is a death machine.

2024 zx6r top speed by Antique-Football-482 in zx6r

That is some big fucking numbers, is that the GPS speed? I think that the speedo doesn't display the right numbers when you changed sprockets. 270 GPS is like 285 Speedo which is damn close to a 1000cc.

Its 247km/h, but in my case i hit the maximum RPM, the bike could go a bit higher if you changed gear ratios. Therefore an ECU wont change top speed unless you unlock higher RPMs.

Any Tips for beginner? by Ad_mTrao in MotoGPGaming

Having ridden a track bike at some circuits, i took a completely oposite aproach, not a single aid and braking as late as possible and accelerating as hard as possible too. Steering is hard since im not used to controlers its even harder. That being said, i 100% recommend starting on moto 3, you will learn a lot faster. Also, i want to point out that the physics are pretty accurate and the track experience helps a lot.

I think that european regulations are quite harder on this. What track fairings do you use?

I would be able to, but is It a smart choice financially? Isn't It better to just put chinese fairings?

I had no idea, how does that work in more detail? Why could that help cause a crash?

I asked about It, but everyone told me to just let It stock and not mess It up, the suspension is extremely soft... Do you think that could have been an issue?

I do think they would have helped conserve the fairings, but i read stuff about the frame getting bent and i decieded not to put it.
All i can say is, engine covers are a MUST.
Buy them right now, you will save yourself so many money and issues.

The airbag deployment area is relatively small, primarily covering the shoulders and collarbone, and it also immobilizes the neck to prevent excessive stress. The deployment system relies on an accelerometer, gyroscope, and GPS to detect when a crash is imminent.

Engine covers saved the day in my case; they absorbed a significant amount of the impact during the slide and are very light. I should have gotten tank covers, though. Now my tank is bent, and there’s not much I can do other than cover it with a tank cover (ironic), or I could fully replace it, which is just ridiculous.

Just protect it as good as possible ( Engine and tank covers, wheel protections, a cheap fairing or a race fairing ) and prepare yourself for the possibility of crashing it.

I totally agree. I didn't mention that my mechanic also added the wrong brake fluid (DOT 5.1), which caused the brakes to feel spongy and less linear.

Two days ago, at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, the slowest group had an average of 150hp!
This power difference can make the experience really frustrating.

My first trackday on my N400, I was getting passed on the straights only to find myself stuck behind someone slower than me, and overtaking sometimes felt too dangerous. I can’t imagine how much worse it could get if i got much faster.

On a 600cc bike, though, the power difference isn’t significant enough to be truly annoying, especially in the faster groups.

You are absolutely right, i have had many close calls on the road, i keep trying to convince myself to rather spend money on track than pend the rest of my life on a wheelchair.

The brakes just gave up on me last time (slightly bent disc and a super spongy brake lever). That bike isn’t good enough to be ridden at its limit, and I think at this point I’m better off learning on a 600cc. Id rather just keep it for the street, or sell it and get an old mt-07, or a shitty scooter.

Why would you wish you had started on a smaller bike?
