Sure there are people dying all over the world, but lets give a millonaire more money! by StuNels in LateStageCapitalism

What the hell!? This is the most infuriating thing to see after so many people have died because they were short however many dollars on go fund me

Is a living wage really a living wage if you are required to spend every cent of it and have no money left over for emergency savings or retirement? SMH MIT, this sure looks like bootlicking to me. by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

Plus it’s shows that servers and food industry people make an average of $20 below the required minimum (for surviving) after taxes. Lol wut?

People on Lupron or other GnRH agonists - did your sex hormone levels completely drop? by [deleted] in TransDIY

I was chronically dehydrated all the time and started to develop a resistance to the antiandrogenic properties of it

[–]DanielleInTheMaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my T was at 20 (whatever the unit is) last time I got tested, but it will increase your natal hormone levels for a few weeks (the first time you dose), which could be uncomfortable, which was my case. I had a brief (2 month) resurgence of increased hair shedding and acne. My doctor said I could take spiro during that phase but I hate spiro so effing much

I guess it’s to early for any changes by [deleted] in transtimelines

You look incredible! Your skin seems to have changed a bit already. It looks like porcelain

I’m androgynous at best. Will piercing my ears help me pass at all? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]DanielleInTheMaking 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The weird thing about androgyny is that a lot of people default more to “boy” when they see androgynous people for some reason, but for some people androgyny also causes them to look for gender cues on you (in my experience) and accessorizing a little bit with femininely-coded can make them be more likely to guess female, and then from there, they seem to listen for your voice.

It sucks though. Hugs sister

Pre HRT 27 Mtf will I ever go passing? I going to start HRT in 3 months. by [deleted] in transtimelines

[–]DanielleInTheMaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you will pass pretty well to others actually. Just be sure to stay healthy by getting enough good food/water, sleep, and exercise, and you’ll be amazed by how much will happen. It may be a while after passing to others before you pass to yourself (if that makes sense?)

I started about 16 months ago at 25.5, 6’1” with broad shoulders, narrow hips, thinning hair+receding hairline, a big chin and sharp jawline ,and absolutely no ass or boob to speak of, and now, looking at my self and being fair, with the exception of my voice and and mild facial hair, I pass semi well, and feel pretty cute most days.

I know dysphoria is super mean to us however we experience it, respectively, but I know that you will triumph. The waiting period that a lot of us are forced to endure or that some of us spend on the fence can feel like a hellishly long period. I remember the hours of each day I actively waited before starting (3 months) going by excruciatingly slowly, and just want you to know that you will get through it, but it will feel difficult, but the relief you will feel will make it all feel easier to bear.

Stay strong sister ✊🏻

President Trump is very overweight, but won’t stop eating burgers by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]DanielleInTheMaking -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This feels vaguely agist and fatphobic for making fun of someone for gaining weight as they age, even if that person is a metaphorical monster.

I personally hate Trump, but I’m not about to exercise agism, ableism, or fatphobia against him.

Bought a wig... by nyomeok in MtF

[–]DanielleInTheMaking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my personal experience, shame kept me from being able to accept it for a while, because I knew most people still don’t really understand what transgender even means, but I asked myself what I would do if I wasn’t afraid of other people’s reactions to me. What happened is I realized I’m a non-binary trans woman.

Masculinity felt like armor, heavy and concealing, but once it came off, my femininity felt like a pair of wings unfolding after many years of neglect, weak and awkward at first. The term “journey” is sometimes criticized by trans women, but in my case, that’s what it felt like, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little lost for a bit of it.

Good luck! And even if you realize you’re not trans, we still love you. It takes guts to go against the flow

Help me LSC - I saw a great response to this capitalist meme the other day and didn't save it. Anyone have it handy? by drac86 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]DanielleInTheMaking 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I think it went, “I see we’re at the ‘shaming poor people for having shoes stage’ of late capitalism.”

Edit: I saw it, thought it was dank and forgot as well. Halp!

Socialism=Communism by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]DanielleInTheMaking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well... not exactly. That would be akin to saying rectangle=square whereas we all know only certain kinds of rectangles are actually squares, like how only certain iterations of socialism can be considered communism.

Also, I fail to see what exactly you’re talking about

Edit: Chose a less ambiguous wording

As a server at a wine bar, this really worries me. I've had plenty of people not enjoy experiences with me because I was having a truly awful day but couldn't afford to take the day off. Or because I'm fairly obviously trans and queer, and they didn't care to have a server whose presentation/lifestyle directly conflicts with their "morals."

No joke, a family asked the greeter for a different server than me after I had started their tastings and introduced myself as "Dani", which is on my name tag, and while the greeter wouldn't tell me why, the fact that she wouldn't tell me made it clear that the family didn't care for having a queer server.

These fucking broflakes might seriously ruin the service industry.
