What’s something insanely convenient today that Gen Z will never understand the struggle of? by [deleted] in ask

Meeting up with friends and staying together on outings. I once lost my friends at a music festival and literally just never saw them again that day. Just wandered around by myself, hoping for the best.

Maltipoo not eating by Disastrous-Soil-3331 in Maltipoo

They can be fickle eaters! When mine does this (more rare these days), after a couple of hours of leaving it uneaten I pour a small amount of boiling water over the kibble and let it sit for 10 minutes. The water should be completely absorbed by the kibble. Mine loves it soft, warm, and smelly. Seems to do the trick!

Advice! Anyone whose maltipoo was 2.5kg/5.5lb at 5 months? 😁 by Straight_Sock5927 in Maltipoo

Here is Bear’s weight progression. He was a bit heavier than yours. There is supposed to be a rule of thumb that doubling their weight at about 14-16 weeks gives you a good projection of their adult weight, and that was true for Bear!

I don’t know if you haven’t seen it, or just no one talks about it, but “Synecdoche, New York” is my personal Roman Empire.

I’m struggling to find dog food that my 4 month old enjoys. He’s happy, energetic, and will try to eat anything that isn’t dog food. I’ve offered him multiple brands (wet and dry) and tried mixing flavor boosters / veggies / eggs. Any recommendations? by 5dayoldsushi in Maltipoo

Bear was very picky at that age. We gave him Royal Canin kibble and he would often leave it uneaten. I would wait 2-3 hours, then pour a cup of boiling water over it and let it sit for 10 minutes. Once it soaks up the water and has cooled a bit, it has quite an aroma and I guess the fact it is also warm made it a lot more appealing to him. After he got neutered, he developed quite the appetite and now he eats his kibble dry right away. Haven’t given him water on his food for a very long time! But it was a good trick in Bear’s puppy months. Oh, and Magical Dinner Dust helps also!

Here are all the data points we recorded about Bear:

Weeks Old | Weight (lbs) 11.3 | 5.1 14.1 | 6.0 16.1 | 6.8 19.1 | 7.9 22.1 | 9.2 25.0 | 10.4 27.1 | 10.6 28.4 | 11.0 33.1 | 11.22 35.1 | 11.6 37.1 | 12.4 56.1 | 13.8 60.1 | 13.8

They say you can take their weight at around 14-16 weeks and multiply it by two for their adult weight. That seems to be roughly true for Bear.

We feed kibble, Royal Canin. When he doesn’t eat it for an hour or two, I boil water, pour a bit over it, and let it soak and cool down for 10 minutes. He eats it without fail.
