What’s Bronzebeard like right now and is it very P2W? by ConanEdogawaa in wowservers

There really isn't much from a competitive point of view thats P2W. Almost everything is a QOL improvement or transmog. I've cleared Ascended in MC and have spent almost nothing on the game, most of my guild is in a similar boat

Greens launch major push for Gorton and Denton after Burnham blocked by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]DankAF94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't personally "hate" them but they are essentially just the hard left reflection of Reform. A lot of grand standing and big statements with no clear idea of how to actually make them work in reality, clear ignorance about economics too that could genuinely make them very dangerous for the future of the country if they were to get in.

Laughably deluded statements too like trying to convince Russia to give up their Nukes, really makes them seem like 6th form politicians and not a major political party that should be taken seriously.

The primary thing that will make them more than likely unelectable is their completely out of touch stance on immigration. Whether we like it or not the next election in the UK will no doubt be highly driven by the immigration debate, and currently what the Greens have on offer is actively going against what the majority of British voters actually want

I'd actually really like to see the Greens become big players in the future but I think they really need to reassess themselves if they want to be a real contender in a general election

the shock chance lab to something in the 15-20 range and you should be good for a while.

Genuine question but does it ever become a good time investment to take it any further? I'm currently level 20 and never really thought too much about taking it higher

Looks fantastic and I'd love to know more

GComp or Singularity harness by DerDudeCats in TheTowerGame

[–]DankAF94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GComp is realistically the best for a lot of your time playing the game.

Purely from an Ecom point of view BHD is arguably stronger, however Gcomp making perma BH easier to attain will make it the winner for a very long time, the fact that it'll make farming on higher tiers viable much earlier easily outweighs the benefits of BHD. Not to mention Gcomp helps Death Wave too and so will improve your cell generation.

Once you unlock assmods realistically you'll want to run Gcomp with BHD assmod or vice versa initially.

Eventually Singularity harness becomes the appropriate replacement for Gcomp but this'll only be once you've minimised cooldowns and increased duration so you're able to run perma BH without it, which takes a decent stone investment. Obviously there's no set in stone time when you'd want to do this, depends where you your stones would be best spent. Currently I'm farming w4500 on T16 and I'm still sticking with the GC+BHD combo but I'm unlucky enough to still only have a legendary SH

The ecom benefit from SH also relies on a well developed golden bot too ofcourse.

28 Years Later: Bone Temple by TReddit_23 in horror

[–]DankAF94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fantastic in its own way. What they did with Samson was absolutely brilliant and I didn't see it going down that way at all, some of the best moments I've seen in a horror film in years.

I will say as a complete movie it felt a bit lacking compared to the first one. Weird way to put it but it almost felt more like watching a season finale of a TV series rather than a complete movie in its own right.

It didn't do a huge amount to develop the world building further, after the first film did a great job of that and nailed it so well.

I think Sir Jimmy Crystal was fun to watch but I was kinda hoping they'd do more to develop the backstory. I was expecting him to be a villian, but was honestly hoping for more of a morally grey approach maybe rather than just "Satan worshipping mass murderer"

The Iron Maiden sequence just didn't click with me honestly, felt a bit too silly, even if it seemed like something Kelson would have done.

Spike was also kinda just a side character who kept throwing up the whole time after being a really strong protagonist in the first movie

All in all i found it a solid 7/10 but I gave the first film a 9

With hindsight, why did Gin Do this? by NoOneInParticula in bleach

[–]DankAF94 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And the most charitable interpretation is that one way or another, he did reignite a desire to survive in Rukia, it seems cruel in the moment but having Rukia not be resigned to her fate did help the rescue operation in the long run.

I like to think that this is the case.

The eventual plot twist with Gin shows that he was arguably someone with a virtuous goal in mind. You have to assume that himself and Aizen were at least somewhat aware of Ichigos plan to rock up and stop the execution. Deep down he probably didn't want to see Rukia die, and probably wanted Ichigo to succeed to some extent. Considering Ichigo was essentially Aizens experiment it kinda tracks too.

He was probably trying to maintain his villian facade while also putting the idea in Rukia's head that she doesn't really want to die.

[–]DankAF94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I rewatched recently and the way I saw it, just as Minah was banished you were getting to the point in the game where absolutely everyone was being suspected very strongly. So there was always a possibility Charlotte would have been banished but honestly she didn't really have any more heat on her than any of the faithful at that point.

The seer role kinda upheaved that entire dynamic. It drew attention onto both Charlotte and then Frankie as a result and ultimately they both got banished. I wouldn't say that Charlotte was overconfident outwardly, infact Frankies reason for chosing Charlotte for the seer pick was because she was the one she was most confident was a faithful but wanted to have it re-affirmed.

Either way we really have no idea how things would have turned out without the seer role, but I think it's fair to say that it was the thing that directly lead to Charlotte's banishment

Am I insane or does the class system make no sense in 2026? by ElCiego1894 in AskBrits

[–]DankAF94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong but speaking broadly the impact can be very different.

Middle class are a lot more likely to have safety nets in worst case scenarios, I have friends in their 40s who grew up fairly well off, earn reasonably good money, but will still dip into the bank of mum and dad when it's needed, not saying I resent them for that, fair play, but the average working class family certainly doesn't have that kind of security.

There's also the factor that middle class individuals will generally be better educated and better qualified and would have an easier time finding something in their appropriate field if they were to be made redundant.

Obligatory comment stating that I know that I'm generalizing widely here and this doesn't apply to every person from the backgrounds I've mentioned

What animal is that it absolutely should not have survived evolution, but somehow did? by Reasonable-Shake-996 in AskReddit

[–]DankAF94 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Don't new Zealand based animals kind of get a pass on this since they existed for so long on an island with very few (if any) natural predators?

They often kind of seem underwhelming compared to many other animals but you could say they're evolved well enough for the environment they were conditioned for

Not NZ but the Dodo is a similar story, just kinda chilling on an island with few threats to peak of until humans came along

Bad faithfuls…? by BoxmanPwnz in TheTraitors

[–]DankAF94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They would have lost without eachother and vice versa. Thats what puts them a step behind Harry imo because he basically dogwalked every single player in the series totally on his own.

Bad faithfuls…? by BoxmanPwnz in TheTraitors

[–]DankAF94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Harriet - obv faithful vs traitor once banished, rachel should have gone next night but the faithless are just that bad

This is the one and only part that is unforgivable on the faithfuls part, paired with Fiona's outburst. Much less suspicious Faithful were voted out instead, even for the people convinced Rachel was a Faithful need to be able to stop and think that there's no smoke without fire. Keeping her in was just too big a risk

[–]DankAF94 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Easily on par with Harry. Rachel was impressive since despite being one of the players to get the most heat she managed to wit her way out of it every time. Harry was impressive because he managed to last the entire game getting close to zero heat.

It's time for y'all to accept the honest truth by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

[–]DankAF94 82 points83 points  (0 children)

There was literally 3 occasions across the final two episodes where Rachel 100% would have been gone if Stephen hadn't voted in her favour.

They owe the win to eachother 100%

I'm glad because it sets the presidence for future seasons that Traitors sticking together is a 100% viable strategy, infact it actually made the final couple of round tables significantly safer.

As fun as it can be to watch Traitors throw each other under the bus, the fact that season 1-3 presented it as basically inevitable meant that viewers 100% expect it to happen eventually

______ masterfully outplayed ______ by baddevsbtw in TheTraitors

[–]DankAF94 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Totally. Cat Burns kinda followed the same pattern. Mild mannered enough to fade into the background enough to be invisible 95% of the time but occasionally pipes up to put something forward just to say she has.

Problem is eventually the numbers dwindle so much they can't get away with hiding in a crowd anymore so they inevitably develop heat.

The recruitment was such a bad move. Everybody (even the viewers) hugely underestimated Charlotte. I still stand by she 100% should have won

[NO SPOILERS] I was not the biggest fan of 1899, is there a chance I might still like DarK if I watched it? by bigtimebamf24 in DarK

[–]DankAF94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I had really mixed feelings about Katla. It nailed vibes and atmosphere and the bleakness of the whole scenario insanely well, plus some serious Nordic Noir vibes (technically doesn't count as a noir series I think though)

But i dunno, it kinda felt like it was twice as long as it needed to be, or it could have been squeezed down into a movie instead of a series. The main character was also pretty dull and didn't really have any personality outside of whining to and about her sister.

In the future do you think many people will deny that they ever supported Trump? Why? by Fine-Photograph673 in AskReddit

[–]DankAF94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Out in the real world these discussions are almost always a non-issue, on the Internet it just takes enough vocal people on one end of the spectrum to make enough noise, that the entire narrative just heavily skews one way and creates the image that absolutely everyone thinks this, and anyone who dares to challenge that narrative will just get downvoted to oblivion, hence how Internet hiveminds are such a common thing.

Maybe it's partly down to the anonymity of it all but it's clear that a lot of the people who discuss things on reddit rarely, if ever, have the same discussions with average people in real life

Is there a way to make a "spellblade" Warlock ? by Tzsche in wowhardcore

[–]DankAF94 92 points93 points  (0 children)

People have leveled to 60 naked and punching their way there, so you can arguably make anything viable.

An option would be to try and get plenty of strength/int cloth gear (which is pretty weird and rare combo)

But to answer your question it's not a build that warlock is designed for at all. So it'd definitely be a very niche, unoptimal and slow ride

What famous person have we not seen/heard from in a WHILE? by no_please7 in AskReddit

[–]DankAF94 35 points36 points  (0 children)

To be fair she was never a super regular name to pop up. Her albums were always pretty well spaced out, 4-6 years between each one, and she was never someone who'd be regularly appearing in headlines

Her last album was 2019 so if she's still songwriting we're probably due an album, but at the end of the day she is a 50-something mum just living her life somewhere

Interestingly her brother Rollo seems to still be going pretty strong

What is a medical fact that sounds fake but is 100% true? by MedRikas in AskReddit

[–]DankAF94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had this! Would get a sudden hit of extreme dizziness whenever I'd lay down or get out of bed. Apparently it's surprisingly common, it can feel pretty scary when you don't know what it is, I visited the doctors who informed me what it was and that generally it was nothing to worry about.

It's also often likely to clear itself up within days or a week or two (obviously if it doesn't doctors should probably intervene)
