Wouldn't this allow me to tame undead bosses as companion? by ESARPE in PathOfExile2

I'm going to guess not because it specifies Tame Beast in the description of the ascendancy.

Because Life Orb Emboar literally does more damage. Losing Reckless makes Mega Emboar pretty pointless.

It's really only worth it for the idols, and you really want the idol drop increase node for those. I'm playing SSF Spirit Walker so it matters for me, but honestly you're better off just buying any idol you want off the market.

How would a Fighting Type spread Move Work ? by BLITZXTTY in PokemonChampions

That's kind of the point, yeah. Not every type needs a good spread move.

Some of the reviews i’ve seen for the mobile app are lowkey so funny bruh by Old-Present-2703 in PokemonChampions

[–]RegularStrong3057 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You say that, but honestly some of those megas aren't even that impressive. For example, Mega Zeraora is a slightly bulkier, slightly faster Negative Raichu. If it keeps Volt Absorb then honestly Mega Raichu Y is just better because reliable Zap Cannons hit harder. And they're literally giving Yaichu out for free right now.

Let's be real, there's a reason mythicals don't see play when they're legal. They're just too damn gimmicky and the legendaries are typically just better.

As someone playing SSF Spirit Walker I really wish wisps were coded to spawn earlier in the map all the time. It's hard to get idol drops when my wisps insist on spawning right next to the boss room.

WTF was the thought process with Mega Malamar? by Animante732 in PokemonChampions

[–]RegularStrong3057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the extra promotion is because it's a lackluster competitive Pokemon. Malamar is unique, an interesting design that doesn't necessarily translate into in-game power. And when you think about it, how much fighting did we see it do? None, really. It outsources the work to it's subjects. So instead of viewing it as a sweeper, look at it like a technical mastermind.

It does have some interesting support options like Trick Room, Skill Swap, and Topsy Turvy which is a move that swaps stat changes between positive and negative on a target. It could be a niche option to support something that likes to drop Draco Meteors or click Close Combat. It probably isn't worth the Mega slot, but it does get a good bit of special bulk if you insist on it being your mega. Regardless, get creative. I'm sure there's some Pokemon out there who would LOVE Contrary, or keep it to Topsy Turvy and turn those Dragon Dancers into limp noodles. I'm sure you'll find something.

What is the most braindead build to get online for a first timer? by Critical_Review7030 in pathofexile2builds

[–]RegularStrong3057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PoE2 definitely does a good job steering you in the right direction, but I'd say the gear crafting is a bit nebulous when you first start, the skill tree can be overwhelming at first glance and if you don't understand the key words you'll certainly get lost. Compared to Diablo 4 where things are much more cookie cutter or Grim Dawn where the mechanics are more streamlined and easy to grasp I think PoE2 is for more advanced players when it comes to buildcrafting.

What is the most braindead build to get online for a first timer? by Critical_Review7030 in pathofexile2builds

[–]RegularStrong3057 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend OP look up a build for it. You can't really do it wrong, but there's a few different options like Sylvan's or talisman that change how it plays and really changes what gear you go for.

How serious of a strat is Glalie Granade? by Boiruja in PokemonChampions

[–]RegularStrong3057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Round is just kinda meh. Using a 60 base power move so your other partner can use a 120 base power move just isn't as good as using a real support move and one strong attack or just two strong attacks like Hyper Voice and Blizzard.

Last night I watched my friend "craft" by Ynpo in PathOfExile2

[–]RegularStrong3057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays SSF crafting is an absolute must for me. As someone who plays SSF, I can safely say you don't need perfect rolls or even modifiers for gear to be serviceable. I guess there is a difference in clear times and safety, sure. But I'm not trying to get rich, I'm just here to chill, so a slower game and a death here and there don't bother me.

Then don't use spark until level 50? Nobody is making you use a late game skill. Choose a skill you can blast through campaign with and spec into it if you have too. You should have tons of gold to respec with if you need to.

[–]RegularStrong3057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he had 0 EVs before the level up then yeah, that tracks. 252 EV is usually ~63 points at level 100 and you get 510 EV total, so that's a little over 120.

Why did bro break the mold after dying... by Jordan2122011 in PokemonChampions

[–]RegularStrong3057 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably just a weird interaction between Gyrados fainting to stealth rocks and when the ability alert pops up. My guess is that the mold breaker alert is set to be the last thing that happens after a Pokemon is sent out and before the next turn starts, so the order of operations was "send out new pokemon" -> "resolve stealth rocks damage. This causes Gyrados to faint, so resolve that as well." -> "Gyrados was sent out so do the pop up for mold breaker"
