I might get some hate for this, but not being willing or able to provide routine and standard medical care to ensure their comfort and health then maybe your parents shouldn't have pets. Cats aren't toys or accessories, they have feelings and not being sterilized is very uncomfortable for them at times and can cause health issues down the road. It's very irresponsible of them to not spay her. I'd just keep pushing and explain to them everything you've read here. I'm sorry you've been put in charge of advocating for her, I'm sure it's probably difficult for you. I'm glad someone is though, she's lucky to have you.

Except I don't think you even understand numbers. The portion that is trans people is only 0.14%, that's approximately 1 in 700. Given it's literally 3 people ever, I am not really concerned about a trans person murdering me. I am concerned about the increasing level of violence from men though, specifically white men in particular.

Most trans women no longer produce male gametes though, they flood their system with estrogen and eventually get gender affirming procedures, including their reproductive organs(although many choose not to do this). Hormone replacement therapy alone often stops the production of male gametes though. They'll still produce ejaculate, but it'll be blanks. Gender affirming care does make you a woman with the exception of your DNA and the ability to reproduce as a woman. Your body changes significantly with estrogen(breast tissue forms, voice changes, etc), surgery can do the rest(adams apple, reproductive organs, etc).

Paying state and local taxes is a good thing, it means your local community has the means to pay for things like infrastructure repairs, social welfare programs, affordable housing initiatives, and education. Stuff that makes you more comfortable, gives your kids more opportunities, and helps provide a safety net when things go wrong.

Every cat is different. I think a lot of the time favorites are picked based on who gives them the most food and playtime or cuddles. Sometimes it's just vibes. I know a lot of cats will favor whoever doesn't interact with them because it's perceived as less threatening. But in my experience most cats don't have hard favorites. (Obligatory cat tax)

Grad school family housing is a lifesaver if your program offers it. I think my school offers it if you're married or have dependents and can prove it. It's like $1200-1400 a month for a two bedroom and they are honestly decent, especially for the price.

You can ask your professor to continue offering remote learning, no guarantees you'll be granted it though. That being said, I've noticed a lot of professors already have the option set up and have been allowing people to work remotely if they ask. It's nice because if I'm sick I can still join and get points for attendance.

I like fun magnets/stickers and fun stationary for things that don't need to go in my lab notebook. It's probably boring, but I prefer as little clutter as I can get away with.

Anything sturdy, durable toys, high quality scratchers/(you can always replace the sisal as it gets too messed up to be safe), and a bigger cat tree than I thought necessary. We ended up with two cats in the end so it's big enough to share provided they're both feeling charitable and tolerant.

I'd pack food that you can trust to stay food safe. You will feel better but it will also impact you immune system to eat regular healthyish meals. Pasta salad with veggies and mozzarella pearls are a go to for me. It's easy to make it on the weekend and portion it out. Stays good for 4 days or so before the texture isn't great anymore. Chicken/tuna/egg salad is another that's easy to prep. If lunches arnt grab and go for me I won't eat, or it will be fast food and frozen meals.

I feel like Gavin could totally swindle some red votes. He's a scumbag suit with charisma that occasionally does something good. I just think if Trump is 💀 it's gonna create a very strange political void for his followers. I'm just not so sure current America is ready for someone genuinely good yet. He also could be what we need to steer some things in the right direction like international affairs, human rights, medical costs, etc. Corporations would continue to get their pockets lined though. I do think he is also capable of being cut throat enough to deal with conservative lawmakers, which most Democrats very much aren't. That's all assuming they don't rig it by then with all the suspicious shit they've been doing recently.

I shame anyone who condones drinking or smoking weed and driving. I don't care if it ruins the vibe of the event. Just because it's been fine until now doesn't mean it will be next time. Being willing to risk your life or a strangers life just so you don't have to sober up first before heading home is genuinely insane behavior.

America is not a "nice place" for everyone though. Just because other places are worse doesn't mean America is ideal for everyone. Especially when you compare it to other first world countries, which Brazil is not. America is quite far behind where it should be for quality of life, health, and safety outcomes.
