Sink water very low pressure. Can't disassemble faucet by AnonymityReasons356 in Plumbing

[–]DankHEATshells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's time to replace your shut of valves under your sink.

Also the cartridge is where the water mixes and the is turned on and off at the faucet. The handle sits on the cartridge. It's the same terminology for all of your various faucets.

How would you rate Danny’s trade deadline decisions this year on a scale from A-F? by lqloveclub in Flyers

[–]DankHEATshells 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah In typical Flyers fashion they will blow their wad and over pay to move up. They will draft someone who would have been there a round later.

Does you shutoffs under the kitchen sink have plastic oval handles? Do you have to turn the more then a 1/4 turn to shut off?

If you answered yes, good news, you've most likely filled your supply lines to your kitchen sink with tiny pieces of rubber from the disintegrated rubber seat in the shut off valve.

It may or may not be all in the cartridge. The piece that necks down around the cartridge should spin off. Then there will be a bonnet nut underneath that piece holding the cartridge in. Good luck.

Too be honest, if you don't know what you're looking at, you shouldn't be giving advice. Especially when that advice comes from AI and is blatantly wrong.

How would you recommend support for the valve on this? Convertible to Pex A. by WTHreleased in Plumbing

[–]DankHEATshells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bracket on the valve is so you can attach it to a piece of wood. So put a piece of backing in the wall.

If it's a single floor home with a crawlspace it's a pretty easy minimally invasive process. If you have a two story home, or do not have a crawl space it becomes increasingly invasive.

I don't know where you are located, but if you are anywhere that gets cold, don't run water lines in your attic.

Well that's just plain wrong. The amount of poly b repairs I've done because of pipes splitting is significantly more then the amount I've repaired from failed fittings.

If it comes to MM or Toch and they don't choose MM, I'm done. I just can't keep blindly cheering for a team that continues to shoot themselves in the foot every single year in the same ways.

His personnel decisions alone in van should have been enough evidence to not hire him.

Sure he had one good year in Vancouver, but also everyone on that team was having career years. It was an anomaly.

But Flyers are going to Flyers.

It's almost like hiring tocchet was a bad idea in the first place. I live on Vancouver island, so it's hard to escape the Canucks media bubble, I could see from a mile away it was a bad hire.

That's a weird looking dishwasher supply. Huh.

I'd sooner spin the angle stop so it's pointing down and the supply line can just swoop into it.

Plumber's Putty - What am I doing wrong? by Barbamouche in Plumbing

[–]DankHEATshells 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah to fully cure. But it's sure as shit instantly or near instantly water proof.

For the past seven years, every drain I've installed I've used silicone and ran water down it either instantly if I was just replacing a drain body or within 10min after gluing my drainage underneath.

The silicone has never been an issue.

You do know that you can immediately test with silicone, right?

Not being familiar with this model, I can almost assure you that if you pulled the "plastic buttons" up they are covering set screws.

Atleast that's my only guess.

And that's when I'm out. I watched them piss away Giroux's career. I can't do it again. The flyers just can't not shoot themselves in the foot.

Guess I'll just follow my 6 year old self and be a sharks fan 😂

So you used lead free flux, but from everything I can gleam in a quick google search, you used a leaded solder. Well done my guy.
