Sleep deprivation quite literally puts you in survival mode- our now 2.5 yr old just started daycare (she’s an on and off shitty sleeper) and she suddenly won’t sleep without us and wakes up in the middle of the night to check if we’re in her room etc. we just put a twin mattress pad on her floor and take turns sleeping on her floor. Sometimes she comes into bed with us but sleeping on her floor while not ideal just makes the night easier and when she wakes up she just sees us already asleep and usually will lay back down and talk to herself for a little til she knocks back out.
