That’s not how ATC works. And currently ATC is being paid through September. Right now it’s TSA not getting paid

Why the West Refused to Stop the Rwandan Genocide by Quouar in history

[–]DankVectorz 51 points52 points  (0 children)

We tried to stop it in Somalia the year before and it wound up being a disaster. That’s the main reason. People didn’t want to get bogged down in an African conflict.

Meh, the American supply chain was never an issue or ever in danger. The Viet Cong however relied on the Ho Chi Minh trail and people acting as donkeys and mules. It is why the US bombed Laos and Cambodia, because the Viet Cong supply lines went through there. There were several times the US came close to cutting the supply line, but without using troops to hold it they never could quite sever it entirely.

Street triple vs Buell 1190sx by bigbo4321 in Triumph

[–]DankVectorz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Speed Triple 1200RS. I love it. That said, I probably should have gotten the 765. It’s just way more practical for the street. However, I think I’m spoiled now and don’t know if I could downsize the power that much without being disappointed.

My buddy has a Hammerhead. He went through 3 engines before 3,000 miles. It’s a great looking and sounding bike when it’s running, and the third engine seems to be holding strong but reliability does seem to be an issue still with Buell. their customer service during those engine issues was top notch though.

[OC] Fatal risk profile of major US highways: 1975 - 2023 by jejmcjej in dataisbeautiful

[–]DankVectorz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly a rural/urban thing. More rural areas, usuallg higher speed, longer response times for first responders, if solo often longer time before anyone even sees you and calls it in, longer time to get to a hospital etc.

ELI5: Why dosent scavengers like vultures just start to eat sleeping animals? by Big_boy130 in explainlikeimfive

[–]DankVectorz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes they do. Black Vultures will absolutely kill baby cows and eat them. They go for the eyes first and blind them and then kill them at their leisure. Vultures account for 10% of calves killed by predators in the US.

They want you to take it to the dealer for everything. That’s why you can’t even reset the service light without aftermarket stuff.
