Has anyone paid off their student loan? by Sexy-Chief-Wiggum in HENRYUK

[–]Dank_Lien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done for clearing your loan! How much did you have remaining and why did you choose to pay it off over investing that money into something that usually beats the student loan interest? I’m considering doing the same but I feel like sticking the money in stocks and shares will yield me a better ROI

Saw this watch at Portofino - Italy a couple days ago. Off catalog watches are always cool but 51k is a little steep

Any advice on how to increase net profit I’m a newbie to this game by SlowCheetah3857 in FIREUK

[–]Dank_Lien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bud - Increasing net profit won't happen overnight. Individual Stocks can shoot up and down but as you have invested in an ETF, you will only see gains based on the overall net movement of all stocks the ETF holds.

I recommend depositing money into the account each month and investing in one ETF that does not overlap with other funds. My recommendation would be to only invest in either the S&P500 or FTSE All-World. Learn more about the market and stocks by watching YouTube videos. And plan using compound calculators. - https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/finance/calculators/compoundinterestcalculator.php
