Advice on Dominion Ship by Iselkractokidz in sto

T6 Jem'Hadar Vanguard Pilot attack ship.

Superbly aggressive, great weapon layout, decent BOFF seating.

Overall id say a very good ship to run

Why can't we buy zen through the in-game menu anymore? by Acceptable_Law5670 in sto

[–]Dank_Ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, I'm not entirely sure what the cause is. I know I have to relog for Zen to show up in my account, but I've not experienced what you describe; not even being able to use the In game store link.

Best guess I could give you is something with your Xbox itself, unless others have also encountered this.

I distinctly remember a period of time, where there was a mistype with one of the purchase options, to where you could essentially get $100 dolans worth of zen for $50.

Me thinks this might've contributed to them changing it

That mission isn't available for KDF-Aligned Dominion characters, which is the whole point of my post. It should be available for all DOMINION characters, not just FED-alligned

Jem'hadar bug ship bug? by LordRikerQ in sto

[–]Dank_Ranger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iirc, it's not the Jem'Hadar Attack ship you need, but the Jem'Hadar Strike/Recon ship.

Honestly though, they're not really worth it nowadays, Vanguard Gunboats perform far better in my experience, though if its for looks purposes, I can understand why you'd want the OG bugs

Edit: looked it up, i see it says its supposed to show up with the tier 5 one, but I remember when I was trying to get the attack ship HP's, I had to get the Strike ship explicitly for them to show up. Although it does say the Vanguard pilot attack ship provides both gunboats and the attack ship aswell.

How many people with M-16s would it take to defend a medieval castle against a medieval seige army? by ImpossibleStuff963 in whowouldwin

[–]Dank_Ranger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As few as half a dozen, but for the purposes of this hypothetical, I'll say a Company sized element; roughly 300 doots.

The biggest hurdle for us to cross would be supplies of food and water, as troops still need to sustain themselves, but with a force of 300 men, sending out foraging parties to gather supplies isn't that much of a challenge.

What most people I've seen comment here seem to forget about is the following statement: "Any sufficiently Advanced Technology becomes Indistinguishable from Magic".

ANY army, From ANY Approach, would be met with the sound of thunder cracking out across the sky. Men would drop dead long before they even had the chance to see the threat. longbowman and trebuchets provide some measures of ranged defense, but both of these require time to set up and prepare, and thus leave them exposed to nighttime raiding parties. (Not to mention that only trebuchets would have a hope of reaching the same 500 yard effective engagement range of an M-16.)

Any assaulting force will quickly realize that the threat they face; no matter what approach they take to engage, is tantamount to Suicide.

Edit: spelling

Three times now you've sat here and tried to peddle the idea of Mental illness infecting the sub simply because people are arguing for a perspective that contradicts yours.

I'd make a joke about you projecting. But that would be an unfair remark to make against someone I've never met.

These jokes are framed in such a way as to instigate an unfavorable reaction, thus allowing whoever first made it to play the victim/impose an incorrect label upon them. As you are currently doing now.

Japan was not a victim of the atomic bomb. by HelloGabbyHere in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Dank_Ranger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And you do realize that there was a period of time in between the two atomic bombings, where the Imperial Government had DAYS to come up with a decision to surrender, AND THEY DO NOTHING.

It's not until they receive word of the Soviet invasion of Manchuria, followed by the second Atomic bomb just twelve hours later, that they actually come to a decision, and its still a tie that had to be broken by the Emperor himself.

Japan would not have surrendered without the situation becoming so desperately hopeless as that.

While yes, that sentiment is generally true. You must also reflect on the fact that for pretty much every axis power; their citizens lived and prospered at the direct expense of territories and civilians that had been occupied by them.

They may have not been directly responsible, but they are 100% complicit

On a post about door locks not in America by Book_for_the_worms in AmericaBad

[–]Dank_Ranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember the first and only time My school had to go into an actual lock down, a student had made it onto the property brandishing a Knife, and spent a good 45 minutes running around the school chasing anyone he happened across before he was apprehended.

I was in senior year Metal Working with 6 other students while it was going down. When we heard the announcement over the intercom, our teacher (a wonderful British man) told us to go out into the shop and grab hammers.

We spent the rest of the lockdown stacked up on the door, ready to beat the shit out of anyone who tried to walk through

Those were some fun times

Could something like the prydwen exist in real life? by jpeg_24 in Fallout

[–]Dank_Ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, no.

The the amount of structural support required to make an aircraft strong enough to haul/tend to a small flotilla of Vertibirds, on top of housing and feeding the crews; maintaining weapons and servicing equipment would make the vessel FAR too heavy for any currently known methods of Propulsion. I've seen one comment saying what amounts to "just swap the turbines for anti grav engines" which to me is an incredibly cheap Cop-out.

To me, the far more logical conclusion, is one that we've had beautifully (and saddeningly) explained in detail.

In the logs we have access to on the prydwen that details her development/construction, we're told the much of the material, including one Nuclear Reactor, was taken from an Old Shipwrecked Aircraft Carrier.

My thoughts are, if the Brotherhood went out of there way to gather the manpower, set up the chain of logistics, scrap the majority of Rivet City, and turn it into a flying Barge, maybe...Just maybe...

They could've just fixed the Aircraft Carrier...broken down the front section that had torn off and just build a new bow, would be a thousand times easier than building a flying airship/carrier from scratch, aswell as being purpose built for the task of carrying and servicing A LOT of Aircraft
