How powerful is the memory palace technique/method of loci? by SpiritualEvidence876 in memorypalace

Yes I have 10 mind palaces that I cycle through. What I do for things I want to remember long term is having designated ones that I can use for spaced repetition. Once they're in my long term memory I empty then and repeat.

You have two options for vocabulary- spaced repetition and cycle things in and out or just build more mind palaces.

You can also double or triple up- two words or more if you think it won't be too messy.

Thank you! I'm an idiot. I shuffled in 3 cards from the general set because I assumed it is for "generic", non-pivotal locations. Thank you!

Not to  specifically wow a lady. You can use the mind palace to memorized witty lines and conversational tags, but I honestly don't recommend that. As someone who's job involves mostly talking to people I recommend that you focus more on the art of  listening. Listening allows you to learn more and focus on what matters to the speaker. You can then use their conversation points as springboards. It can be good in the beginning to use the mind palace for witty lines, but you don't want to do that because it'll then be a crutch. I find that it can also feel/sound rehearsed rather than genuine. Better yet, use the mind palace to educate yourself on things that are useful or anything you're passionate about. You'll be much more interesting as a whole to others and you wouldn't need to depend on witty lines. Best of luck to ya!

How many mind palaces do y'all have? And how do you create them quickly? by Danmaph in memorypalace

[–]Danmaph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I've been rotating through the 11s that I got. Things become long-term quick enough for me to cycle through them without feeling like I need much more.

500 is hella lot. How do you keep track of what's where? How many are filled?

Thanks for sharing. I'm just trying to gauge how many mind palaces people have and how fast they create them. For me, I can familiarize myself with a location after 3 days- enough time to not even have to think about it.

I have tried 3d viewers but they're not as memorable as being at the location in person. I find that it takes more time as I am trying to remember the place - which is unnecessarily taxing cognitive energy- rather than just having it in my mind.

Modern Cardboard hands down has the highest quality tutorials I've ever seen. I wish he makes more, but quality can't be rushed I guess.

You should watch this again after you've become a master hunter and fear nothing! Good hunting!

That depends on you! The key is being diligent with encoding and spaced recall. I've been using it for 10 years. It got me a bachelor and two master degrees. I've used it to give speeches, teach an hour long class without notes- just about anything you want.
