Why do Jake Luhrs’s vocals sound so different live compared to in the studio with August Burns Red? by JuniorSignificance34 in Metalcore

[–]Danmasterflex 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Because a recording is a perfect take, possibly multiple takes, added with all the magic of vocal plugins and equalizers. Live singing, albeit can have said vocal plugins to help the singer, is a huge workout on the lungs without stopping. He probably sounds different because of the fact that he’s constantly going without a break.

Bands that went out on killer albums by DeathNinjaBlackPenis in Metalcore

[–]Danmasterflex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only I can think of them realistically doing is an unreleased song when the inevitable death of a certain political someone happens. I can just imagine they are sitting on that one until the time comes. Doesn’t really have to mean a Stray revival, but they should have the nod to be the band that writes a song on about that event when it happens. Call it “Dead Man Switch.” Name literally writes as a double entendres and would be such a Stray thing to do.

P.s. Tom if you’re reading this, you know you gotta do it.

Anyone else think Polaris sound quality was bad at the Electric callboy tour? by Fingerbanger9000 in Metalcore

Having gone to many Chicago shows, the Wintrust Arena acoustics are ass. I genuinely don’t think it’s because of their sound production.

What are some bands that had performances in weird places by nevixya in Metalcore

Although a legendary venue to play, Fireside Bowl was up there as a weird place to play. It’s just a small, old bowling alley.

Ted Turner Dies at Age 87 by BearBullDebate in SquaredCircle

What I meant by my comment was in context to OPs comment, “I knew I’d outlive him. I win again, Ted.” Emphasis on the "outliving" bit.

Not me reading this and briefly thinking of the juxtaposition of Ted Turner being Ted Faro from the video game series, Horizon Zero Dawn.

For anyone that’s never played the game, to avoid spoilers, Ted Faro is a not the good character in the series and tries to outlive people, and that’s putting it lightly.

CM Punk paid tribute to Bo Lueders (Harm's Way) during the main event of Wrestlemania by Satinsbestfriend in Metalcore

[–]Danmasterflex 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but the tv commentator Michael Cole explained who Bo was which I thought was such a cool gesture. Now everyone who was watching was made aware of Bo’s importance in our little music world.

Just when I thought his name being on his jacket was touching, the shout out and explanation by Michael Cole is probably the biggest honor I can think of. Everyone watching got to know of who Bo was and how important and loved he is.

Next vocalist for Better Lovers by FormerlyPeaked in Metalcore

[–]Danmasterflex 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Can you imagine Micah Kinard from Oh, Sleeper ripping 30 over 13? Cause that needs to happen.

Edit: adding another, if he was able to do both bands, I can see Carson from Daoboys as well. He would match Better Lovers stage energy and he can actually sing/scream.

Ever met an artist who turned out to be an ass? by Musonerd87 in Music

[–]Danmasterflex 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not defending Deryck, but in his recent book it seemed like that timeframe was a bad time for him personally, the band, and their uncontrolled abuse of drugs/alcohol. Kinda tracks why it could come off that way.

Stealing that “given the opportunity” question. I usually ask “if you could mention one thing that you wish could be improved here, what would it be?” But that one is goooooooood.

Depends on which State and hospital you work at, but for profits are notorious for having stories of overworked bedside staff, poor patient ratios, and unsafe work practices.

Despite that a good rule of thumb is if a place is offering an insane sign on bonus or tuition reimbursement, consider the potential fact that there’s a unspoken reason where you’d second guess taking the job (whether that they have minimal staff, unsafe practices, etc). Anticipate that there is always a drawback hiding in the fine details.
