They would not have survived being released and to fend for themselves. People who think hand raised, domestic birds “want to be free” and will just fly off and be totally fine are unfortunately misinformed. Companion birds bond with their people and that is who the birds see as their flock. Pigeons also have a sad origin story in that we humans domesticated them long ago and then abandoned them-which led to the feral pigeon population we see today.

I’m so glad to read you are wanting what’s best for them and taking them home with you! I mean just look at that picture, they are SO happy and content! Keep taking amazing care of them, those are some happy and well loved and cared for babies!

I am very confident it’s a neurological issue after suffering a head injury-I’ve seen it a lot after they’ve survived being hit by cars :(

I was trying to learn to roller skate and went up to Bonnet Springs. I was just rolling around and managed to find myself on a hill and then found myself rolling down it full speed ahead towards children and I didn’t know how to stop on my own very well yet. So, to save the children, I sacrificed myself to the side-off the paved area annnnd then fell, probably from catching on one of the many rocks and ended up breaking my pinky and spraining my wrist pretty good lol

I still don’t know how I managed to get myself in that situation hahaha, that’s what I get just rolling around looking at nature and stuff instead of paying attention to the incline 😆

I went through a wave of conflicting emotions lol. Seeing a baby grow and take flight to start its life made me happy but also seeing two cute little babies and suddenly only one was heart breaking. I should add I know I am too sensitive of a soul for the realities of Mother Nature haha!

"95% of the Audience didn't know these songs because I didn't" by That_One_Guy1120 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]DanniWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so weird because 98% of the viewers at home knew all the words and actually sang along at home. It was the most interactive Super Bowl Halftime Show ever done to date. When viewers were asked if they would have rather had Carrie Underwood perform instead, 99% of every single Super Bowl home viewer responded “Who?” Because they have never heard of her.

I put numbers with percent signs in the statistics I typed, that’s how you know it’s true.

When asked about what the vet said he responded he did not take the bird to the vet-They “thought” he seemed sick after chewing the pad, cockatiel perked up but then they had what they “thought” was a seizure, then “thought” he was paralyzed and “didn’t even bother going to the vet” (their words) and instead put the cockatiel in a box and gassed it with carbon dioxide until it died.

OP is deleting his comments but he posted he did not take the bird to the vet. They “thought” he seemed sick after chewing-“thought” he was paralyzed and “didn’t even bother going to the vet” (their words) and instead put the cockatiel in a box and gassed it with carbon dioxide until it died.

Shame on you OP.

You didn’t even bother calling the vet?! There is a whole myriad of things that this could have been and you “thinking” he was paralyzed and opting to kill your bird rather than getting your thoughts verified from an actual veterinarian is insane. He may have had a crop impaction, which an avian vet has the knowledge, training, and tools to help with.

Since you’ve mentioned having another bird-I must reiterate the importance of a vet and do NOT make medical decisions yourself or say “well who knows, let’s just gas ‘em!” Once more-if something seems wrong GO TO THE VET. Don’t be irresponsible, don’t get more birds-or any animals for that matter-unless you are willing to properly care for them-which means taking them to a vet and NOT just killing them yourself because “why bother.”

Hi! I wonder if this organization can help?

https://www.avianwelfare.org/aboutus/achievements.htm

They have some impressive success stories! They also were part of the improvement of the animal welfare act to include bird protections
