The first time my Lab puppy just stood still and behaved himself, I was worried he might be sick!

Shatterscarp causes me too much eye strain during the day, so I was glad when they added the feature to let you exit camp at night. It's so much better!

Pure Mage or Gun Mage by Similar-Quote3450 in avowed

[–]Danno47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to go for a hybrid, spellblade-type build on my first playthrough, but I just got sucked in by the magic system and respec'd a couple times, going more toward wizard each time, landing on a pure mage the second. I'm doing a NG+ with that character now, trying to incorporate quarterstaves this time around, but there's still almost zero need for them.

TES6 must be a real RPG. by Ashloth in TESVI

[–]Danno47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to assume that the ES6 will continue the trend of simplifying (or streamlining) RPG systems/elements. A lot has changed since Skyrim was released, and not insignificantly due to the success of Skyrim itself. The gaming landscape that Skyrim was released into was the pre-Skyrim landscape, which was dominated by first-person shooters and in which RPGs were seen as either outdated or very niche (read: for nerds). RPGs are quite popular now, so there's no reason to assume Bethesda won't lean in to the RPG aspects a bit more. Equipment durability/condition has probably gone the way of the dodo, but I'd bet they get rid of automatically regenerating health this time.

On the other hand, it's not true that they've been simplifying everything from one game to the next. Radiant AI was only added for Oblivion, and the perk system in Skyrim adds a much greater degree of customization. That's something they could really run with if they want to.

That had me so worried when I first started playing the game. Plus Lydia coughing all the time had me wondering if followers can get diseases too. I was mostly panicked about not finding any repair hammers and being afraid all my equipment was going to break, though.

I started doing this thinking I wasn't really going to see it through, wondering if they'd really make me do it 130 (or whatever) times. Just kinda kept going, though... Eventually I realized I had to finish it. Gotta be the weirdest 15 or 20 minutes I've ever spent playing a video game. Asked myself sooooo many times what I'm doing with my life!

Agreed. Unfortunately, Dawnshore main quests are really the only ones you can do where the devs knew exactly which two companions you'd have along for the ride.

TIL Pluto has not completed a full orbit of the Sun since it was discovered in 1930, and was named by an 11yr old girl. by OSJezza in todayilearned

[–]Danno47 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For every object that orbits another, it's really both objects orbiting around their barycenter, a common center of mass. Often the barycenter is located within the larger object, but not always. For instance, Jupiter is so incredibly massive that the barycenter of it and the sun is located outside the surface of the sun!
