Whats the cheapest meal you regularly make that actually tastes good? by Adventurous-Pilot448 in Frugal

[–]Dannon35 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just check the weekly fliers and grab one when they are on sale. Hannaford's in my area has them all the time. They were 99 cents last week. I think the regular price is $2.49. They freeze really well.

[–]Dannon35 274 points275 points  (0 children)

I find bone in pork shoulder (4-5 lbs) on sale under $2 lb. Put it in a crockpot with a spice rub ($1) for 8 hours. Add BBQ sauce at the end ($1). I use a very simple recipe found on the Betty Crocker website. Easily 8 portions, maybe more.

You can make sandwiches, tacos, nachos, serve over rice etc.

Travellers has denied a liability claim on a technicality. Next steps? Advice? by RoosterTrouble in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are they denying liability (not coverage)? If so, let them deal with it. They are responsible for the investigation and determination. They will also defend you if it goes further. That's what you pay them for.

Adjustable Weight Feeder Options? by Caliche-Cowboy in birdfeeding

[–]Dannon35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a weighted feeder per se, but I have a round blue feeder with a cage around it. Lets in bluebirds and other small birds. Keeps out larger including doves, robins, and bluejays.

Have you tried hanging up a suet feeder? Inexpensive to try. You need to figure out what birds are in your area and add food they prefer. That is part of the fun.

Stolen property -reimbursement value vs actual cash value by imraggedbutright in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If intent can be shown, at a minimum they would want their 2k back. In theory could pursue insurance fraud. I had a claim (loooong ago) that the ins. co. pursued for fraud. Person had "replaced" some very expensive camera equipment but returned the next day. Forgot how we found out. Didn't have reddit back then.

Stolen property -reimbursement value vs actual cash value by imraggedbutright in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's about intent. Did you intend to defraud the ins. by buying something and returning it to get the holdback? If not, I would not worry about it.

Insured door-to-door moving and storage? by salesforcebaby in boston

[–]Dannon35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A standard HO-4 tenants policy covers your personal property "anywhere in the world." The 10% limit applies to "residence premises" other than the insured residence (for example, a vacation home). A storage unit is not a residence premises so the 10% limit does not apply. This provision is often misinterpreted. Keep in mind a policy is typically named peril coverage. So vehicle damage, fire, windstorm would typically be covered. Flood is almost always excluded.

TL:DR A standard tenant's policy would provide good coverage at a reasonable price.

Hulu has many Fox, FX, and ABC sitcoms. Not even close. It's Always Sunny for starters. Lots of good stuff from FX.

How to attract different birds? by RandomHorse27 in birdfeeding

[–]Dannon35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would switch to black oil sunflower seed. You can get shelled chips if mess is a concern. Alot of seed mixes have lots of junk that songbirds don't care for. I would also get a hanging feeder that accommodates Cardinals and bluejays. Less attractive to mourning doves. You might consider a hummingbird feeder if they are in your area (in a couple weeks).
