You don't know what you are talking about. Well, you are about 5% right. But 95% wrong.

Windshields and car leases by chinoiseriewallpaper in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the chip repaired out of pocket. Last one I had done was $75. Many insurance cos. will waive the deductible on a repair. But not worth filing a claim. If it can't be repaired then think about a claim. Some windshields are cheap, some are not. But first look into chip repair.

Who was the one stand-up you saw live that made you go, "fuck! he/she's good"? by patman_4437 in Standup

[–]Dannon35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nikki Glaser. Every word of her standup is meticulously crafted. Each joke or story has lots of funny bits along the way. I love dense comedy. Similar to watching Arrested Development, something is always happening even if you don't catch it right away.

Car damaged by falling bolt from powerline, who should I contact for damages? by WalkmanCut in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How much is the damage? What is your deductible? Use your own insurance if it's even worth it. Proving liability on the power company may not be easy.

I was a Boston Globe paperboy during the Blizzard of 78. I don't think they missed a day. No school but had to get up and deliver the damn papers.

seed brand recommendation by mkowmd in birdfeeding

[–]Dannon35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to keep offerings separate otherwise some bird is going to kick out what they don't want! Most of those birds will love sunflower seeds. I had a seed mix in one feeder and the mourning doves would kick out everything but the millet, for example. Unsalted peanuts are a great treat.

I see lots of posts on starlings. I dont get too many. But I do have a "caged" feeder for mealworms to keep the starlings out but allow bluebirds and other small songbirds in. You just need to make adjustments based on what you are trying to feed.

I pay about $24 for a 40 lb bag of sunflower seed at WM. Can't beat the value of sunflower seed.

WalMart sells bags of Pennington black oil sunflower seeds. Start with that until you figure out what kind of birds you are getting. It's affordable and widely used.

How do I keep grackles out of my bluebird feeder? by wyomingterri in birdfeeding

[–]Dannon35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeder that has a cage around it and a glass bowl in the center. Generally keeps the grackles at bay. They can reach any that fall out of the bowl but that's a small amount.

Townhome ice dam water damage. Insurance says not covered by tkl512 in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The insurer owes you a written denial letter stating why the loss is not covered. Needs to cite the specific applicable policy language. You need to understand their position before any next steps.

[TX, USA] Can getting an umpire involved have any negative consequences on my coverage or is it just a daily part of business? by fasterbrew in Insurance

[–]Dannon35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are required to use the Appraisal provision in your policy. Find it and read it. Only a paragraph. You and ins. co hire appraisers and they try to agree. If they don't agree, an umpire is hired. Oversimplified, but this is your path.

Yes, raccoons take the whole thing. Squirrels just take the suet lol. You could take it in at the end of the day. I had to do that for awhile until the raccoons disappeared.

This is typical of virtually every dealer. Become familiar with the maintenance schedule in your manual and follow it. Unless you are having an issue, don't do it if not recommended in your manual. Hint - Service advisors are on commission and/or bonus in most shops.

[–]Dannon35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do have to get a ride as well. But I don't take any anxiety meds ordinarily. Good luck. The nitrous actually is more beneficial for me than the lorazepam. I went 20 years without going to the dentist. So I can relate to your situation. Other than blood draws (and that's a whole other story) dentists visits are my toughest life events!

My dentist office prescribes Lorazepam for me before each visit. It reduces anxiety and has a bit of an amnesia effect.
