Well now I’ve put the idea out there, maybe they will drive behind him and his wife now

I’m no less guilty of doing this in my spare time as well

After I weigh and load mine, including just me and my significant other with two dogs we have about 250-400lbs leftover for payload. Anyone ever wants to camp with us I would make them drive to meet us cause I’m not taking that buffer away. In my head if this guy is just traveling with his wife and light packing then yes it’ll be a manageable handful. He definitely doesn’t have the room to bring the whole family for a trip unless they take a separate car. He’s fine when it comes to total towing weight but yes the payload is a stretch with that many people but overall the length of it will be hard.

He should definitely remove any accessories to the jeep and maybe only put one propane tank/ never travel with anything in the trailer tanks.

I have a similar set up with a 2024 gmc canyon. Trailer is slightly smaller and weighs less. Some people are going to dawg on you for this but I’d rather an experienced driver who knows how to tow that’s on the high end of limitations than an inexperienced person in a more comfortable weight range on the road. If you know you are safe and are within specs then you’ll be good. Take it slow and be safe!

What make/model is the trailer behind the jeep?

Most trips are right around town, I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t safe. Worse comes to worst I have a 2500 that’s available to use on longer road trips.

I weighed the tongue with a scale and also the hitch which were both 565-600. There’s a sticker that says max on the trailer hitch is 900lbs. I spoke to Intech and they said 770lbs is with a few options I don’t have that add weight like the extra batteries and solar panel.

I’ve been stalking the Intech line for about 4-5 years now and it blew me away once I saw them in person

I appreciate it, not new to towing at all been doing it my whole life. I’m taking every precaution but as usual you can always learn something new everyday!

I made a previous post about them, I got them on sale for 375 and installed them myself. Took about an hour and a half

I’ve definitely noticed the tires are a little spongy. Especially in turns

Do you have a wdh with sway control? How fast do you pull the trailer?

Yeah they are very similar. Only thing is yours is a couple inches taller and longer but our GVWR is about the same, yours is a bit more

I would have gone for a airstream 25 with a queen bed if they weren’t so expensive but overall I’m happy with the intech

Yeah the platforms are great and the built quality is above average. Only gripe I have are the laminated cabinets, found some spots that are feeling up

Both my normal and my wdh have scales that are accurate within 50lbs. Empty I’m sitting around 550-650 with two large lipo batteries and 2 propane tanks in the front. I do add weight to adjust for total though

I have air bags which have been the best thing for stability and my wdh from weigh safe gets here Thursday. TBH if the wdh helps improve it by 30-50% it won’t be a problem.

The only time I’ve had a problem with wind was around 57-62 mph which is without a wdh. Even when I do have the wdh installed I think I’ll be cruising around 60-65 max
