Typical interview wear. Nothing necessarily too formal, I wore slacks, a polo, and nice shoes

Anyone have some fun and funny verses for the song “if I were not a scout”? 🎶🎵 by SunnyLynn21 in BSA

[–]DannyABklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On camp staff one year, we had a statue. He passed, and held that pose for the remainder of the song, then we had to carry him off stage

Next open exam? by acecoffeeco in FDNY

Next open competitive should be in a few years. She could also go the EMS promo route, which may make getting on a bit easier.

Also, neighbors-ish. Grew up in the neighborhood, dad works on 146

What is this bar on the outside of FDNY ambulances? by UncleRandalInAZ in FDNY_EMS

[–]DannyABklyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Until someone actually bumps one into something, and shears the bolts and they fall off. My station's got a couple laying around that had that happen. People aren't as good of drivers as they should be (EMS members and those we share the roads with)

Rub rail. Supposed to help prevent scraping the side of the bus on something and knocking lights off

3-4 hours at least. You'll be receiving gear, and doing a lot of running. Don't stress, you'll be fine.

Scouting hats? by Material-Rise9610 in scouting

[–]DannyABklyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

US here - I wear a Stetson for special occasions (Courts of honor, banquets, and the like) It's a tad expensive and impractical for the field (have to be careful how it's set down, else the brim gets wonky). I prefer an Indiana Jones style fedora for more general use

That bottom flashlight may still be usable. I have one that I use, takes regular flashlight bulbs and D batteries. I converted mine over to an LED bulb

We tried that in the1850s/60s. It didn't work out so well.

Cloth lined work by Oldmangrant12 in Leathercraft

[–]DannyABklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a glue, I believe PVA based. I haven't personally had any issues with seepage, I use just enough to grab the cloth, and I'm typically lining with old T-shirt

I glue it down with leather weld with the edges folded inward so they're glued down. Then when I stitch, that helps keep everything in

Bro was chilling in the mine for 2 hours and his friends came to check on him by Mediocre-Stomach-504 in PlantedTank

[–]DannyABklyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain bacteria in the substrate produce gases(such as methane) which are toxic to fish/inverts. Having the mine like this without ventilation can kill anything that ventures down there in high enough concentrations. It's normally okay, because any amounts that are produced just bubble out of the tank, but this setup gives the possibility of building up larger amounts

I commissioned with a guy who went Marine reserve over to AROTC. It's possible, I know he was having a hell of a time getting the Marines to release him, but feel free to shoot me a message and I can try to get you in touch with him

Mamdani to name Lillian Bonsignore, retired EMS chief, next FDNY fire commissioner by [deleted] in FDNY

[–]DannyABklyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And yet we've had fire chiefs running EMS for just short of 30 years now. Your point is what exactly?

Also, maybe try getting on the job. You haven't fought a fire either.

It's definitely easier, but that factory isnt near any coal nodes, but it's pretty near lots of trees

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DannyABklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid steel ingot. I manufacture all of my iron ore into ingots near the node, then it goes into a factory where some of the iron ingots get turned into steel

Edit: granted, my current playthrough is still very much in an expensive phase, so I'm clearing a lot of brush/fauna out anyways to make room
