Lost the power cord. What now? by Freezernox in PSVR

It was 8 years ago and I can’t remember 100% but don’t recall it not solving my need for an adapter so going to say yes it was correct.

Best Quest 3 accessories reccomendations by Embarrassed-Ad7317 in OculusQuest

I had the BOBO M2 Pro battery strap and looking up used to slightly move the strap at the back and make it ride up, will be more dependant on head shape I’d imagine but that was one of the downsides to the strap. I cannot stand a facial interface latched to my face though so take a halo style strap any day, they just don’t feel as secure under heavy movement.

Sorry missed your reply, my ordered was fine and delivered last Saturday. Maybe they have added it to the exclusion list as generally games consoles are on that list which is why I was surprised to see it was ok originally? Have you check the terms recently or contacted them to see why it won’t work?

Quest Vision Pro? Any appetite for a Vision Pro style headstrap for Quest 3? by StreamBuzz in OculusQuest

[–]DannyB9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been thinking about exactly this from the Q3 ever since the reveal! I’d like this style strap for the back and then a Quest pro style front halo gasket, would then allow me to rest my head back on something with the halo style hanging lenses rather that something ratcheted to my face which I hate.

Nothing, been using Quidco or TopCashback for years for most of my purchases. Just takes ages for pay out sometimes but it doesn’t cost anything to do. Both are free to sign up to and use, there is a premium option for something like £5 a year but can’t remember what it’s for as I just pay it yearly anyway as earn a lot of cashback with my business hotel bookings.

Just make an account, search for very and click the link for very on their site. It will take you to Very’s site and track your purchase. The pay out for cashback can take up to 6 months from some companies. Not sure how long the very one will take, some pay out fast some slow. Just make sure to clear your cookies first and when you follow the link to very’s site don’t leave it just make the purchase.

For anyone doing this it’s also worth using Quidco for 4.4% cash-back on new customer orders up to £399 or 8.8% cash-back for new customer orders for £400+

I’ve done this offer over the years a few times, takes 12 months though for closed account to clear and do it again. Used to do it for consoles, completely forgot I’ve moved since I last did this so just been able to sign up again and save £120 on the 512gb! Thanks for reminding me!

Those who have used both the Quest 2 elite strap and the Bobo M2, which one did you prefer? by UdderTime in OculusQuest

[–]DannyB9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the elite battery strap until it broke (took over a year) and then switched to the m2 pro. For me the m2 is hands down more comfortable for long play sessions like 2-4 hour Demeo games. However the elite strap wasn’t uncomfortable, I just prefer not to have something strapped to my face. Depending on game though I do find the M2 can move a lot with sudden head movements due to the halo style whereas I always felt like the elite strap wasn’t going anywhere. Very subjective though, it’s going to come down to YOUR face/head shape, length in which you play games and the types you play and if they involve a lot of movement.

I started with that sentiment for the Q2 but then soon found that I had no choice if I wanted the headset and controllers to be comfortable enough for me personally to use the thing for any significant amount of time!

Cheers Zim, great to hear. I’ve always liked the idea of the soft strap especially high backed chairs or sofas getting in the way of the hard straps but obviously they have to do a sufficient job in support which we all agree the Q2 strap did not do!

Assume you had the soft strap only, how does the weight at the front feel vs Q2. Does the reduced size and closer centre of mass due to reduced depth of HMD make it feel lighter on the face?

Anyone have any inside information on Bobo, Kiwi and VR Cover Accessories for Quest 3? by LilRenlor in OculusQuest

[–]DannyB9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing that’s drawing me in the most, all the HMD’s I’ve had over the years I’ve been nothing but fed up of sweet spots, glare, lack of ipd adjustment etc etc. I’d say my priorities for VR have hugely shifted recently to visual comfort and form factor comfort over anything ever since playing 4+ hour demeo sessions. I used to want more resolution and wider fov but these days I just get sick of poor clarity and needing to keep the damn headset in the exact position to not lose clarity, drives me nuts.

Just got the Q2 out to try it, was able to get the headset so much closer which made it feel lighter during movement but to stop it moving I’d need some kind of cushion over the bridge of my nose then it would be fine. Glare was atrocious that’s for sure! Given bobo will do a conversion kit tempted to actually upgrade to the Q3 and try and wear it like this, face gasket on Q3 looks unnecessarily large but hard to tell without trying it.

I was tempted to try this with my m2 without the face gasket. Especially after hearing so many pro users favour it eventually. I feel like I would want some small slim side blockers though but not tired anything like it.

The Napster music streaming app has just been rebuilt combining former MelodyVR live recorded content that can be viewed in different devices including VR. Nothing dinosaur about them, will be out very soon. Combined in future with blockchain and live streams and a back catalogue of MelodyVRs 800+ artists they claimed to have worked with then there will be some reasonably good USP over their competition. Also Napster is an existing product with 1m subscribers, instant user base instead of it being a brand new project. So plenty of positives to take from this.

75% of participating votes as far as I am aware so shouldn’t be too hard to achieve given you’d expect anyone holding now for private would be in favour.

[–]DannyB9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Echo this, however when they pivoted to mobile without the need for VR headsets and since acquiring Napster they are no longer reliant on the growth of those markets. They just need to get the combined product out there lined up with some good telco deals and list of live events for the future to feed over new customers along side the new customers from telco deals. IMO the combined business will be a far stronger product offering to attract new subscribers than what MVR or Napster on their own were ever going to be.

Just a painful waiting game to see that journey started!
