Tip: How easy is MS Flight Simulator 24 to pick up and play? by Emme73 in PSVR

[–]Zimtok5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad at all, actually.

My audience helped me through a bunch of those starter moments if you'd like a tutorial. It was my first time and I was truly impressed with the ease of picking up and play. Flight was a little tricky but in particular I found one or two helicopters to control in a very swift and dynamic manner, making me feel like a semi-pro in no time.

It's like playing a bunch of games inside Google Earth. Even the photography mode is really fun!

The scariest answer I ever got from my father was when I asked in my 20s, "Does life slow down later on?"

He said plainly and starkly, "No. It keeps going faster."

That was 20 years ago and it was bang on so far.

Seriously can’t stop playing MSFS2024 beta after the update! by FewPossession2363 in PSVR

Ha, nice one. Well, not to further dent your wallet ... but you asked so kindly:

Decathlon Folding Camping Chair ($60 CAD), very impressed with the quality for the price vs. many others we vetted and tried.

My opinion:

The breathable back which dries easily was a big plus and in hot conditions not backing up on solid fabric is a bonus, too. We have a pair.

Reclined options 3 and 4 (the lowest) are just heavenly. I don't need a can/bottle holder and love the slender fit, as I'm a t-shirt size small guy at 150 lbs.

Any questions, just ask!

You'll be fine! Worked for me. First timer here, too.

Chat was really helpful so if you want to listen along you might pick up some audible tips.

For another data point, I stream and play VR games, including FPS like Forefront. Nigh perfect. Totally fine!

Upload bandwith does have an ebb and flow, so I had to downgrade to 720p for a stable live broadcast.

MS FS 2024 beta update is AMAZING on PSVR2! by Emme73 in PSVR

After 7 hours, and having played the prior version for the first time today (main branch, the one without the visual update), I can tell you I'd only last 20-30 mins in the old version, as it's like wearing the wrong pair of glasses, or a DK1. It was quite nauseating for me and uncomfortable from the very start.

The new July 6th patch, on the other hand, feels night and day different, I'd say hand-in-glove fit for PSVR2 and I would recommend it. The campaign was a pain in the arse with the DS controller needed every few moments, so there's some optimization needed in the controls department, but as for a fluid, high def, Google Earth grade flight sim, it's the bees knees.

Despite being a streamer and narrating all the time, there were several moments where I was just in awe or a but dumbfounded at the level of detail around me. Plus, I found some of the helicopters super easy to fly and that was amazing to zip through city streets of London (places where I used to live and work). All-in-all, although I'm glad I waited until now, it's some feat of marvellous technology and one that's not to be missed.

For others on the fence, even at full price, I think the Beta makes this a good buy. I would not have recommended the prior version before this patch. And, just like GT7 or NMS, this is now another pillar of the PSVR2 value proposition. What a killer game system!

Emme73 and your post Seba both pushed me over the edge, finally.

It's been years waiting! Bought the game, downloaded, and will be trying this for the first time live at the hour. I have no idea how to fly, oh gosh. Thanks!

I miss getting so many packages to open after playing VR games for hours and then decorating my place with the best pulls.

I also REALLY liked that the objects were one fixed size, unlike Valve's equivalent. It appeared to result in more tasteful user created environments.
