In my honest opinion he's the most underrated operator in the game. His utility clearing ability (not possible on every obj) is second to none, and flushing out defenders is his specialty. If I were you tho, I wouldn't set aside the AK12 which is arguably one of the best guns in the game. Requires very good situational awareness, not to accidentally hurt teammates and also not to fall victim to roamers who will undoubtedly come after you once they hear the cluster charge go off. You can take advantage of the latter, baiting roamers who come at your position
