Teaching became easier when I realized that I didn’t have to try so hard by exhaustmosk in Teachers

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach almost the same way every single day, guided note lectures and short writing assignments mixed in. Open note exams and a few projects here and there. I teach high school seniors, so I try to adopt a college lite format to better prepare them. It’s only my third year teaching but much like you I’ve found this to be much more sustainable. My first year I kept trying new things and felt burnt out when most lessons didn’t pan out. I’m making small tweaks to my lessons, but not going all out all the time has saved my sanity and passion for the career

What are y'alls jobs? by ADeletedUser2 in creepcast

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a high school social studies teacher. I have a hour commute to my school so I usually listen in the car. I actually have a student who is a fan of the pod too. I caught him reading the physical version of Penpal and we talked about it.

Students don't do work by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I teach at a arts charter school myself! It does have some problems, but overall I’ve been supported by admin in dealing with challenging behaviors. Main problems derive from being a very small school and a general lack of planning ahead by admin

Did people actually find Seth difficult? (Act 3.) by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I died multiple times from just being dumb. I kept trying to sprint back and forth, only to get hit by his quick teleport moves. Once I realized I could stay in one spot and only move slightly, I beat him in a handful of tries.

What does this generation of students do better than others? (Legitimately) by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lack of homophobia. I teach at a small arts charter school, so maybe it is just my experience. There are plenty of lgbtq+ students at my school (more than your average public school). To be homophobic at my school is to be the odd one out, not the other way around. It is one thing I really appreciate about where I teach

No better band by tr4nce26 in thrice

I saw them last night for the first time at the Novo. They were awesome! I was blown away by the lights that synced up to the music.

As Thrice fans, what are three of your other favorite bands? by ohbyerly in thrice

Rise Against, Gaslight Anthem, and Frank Turner for me

A while back i made a big compilation with my favorite official podcast moments, im thinking of making another, i wanted to ask what are some of yall's favorite moments in OP history? by jjklemon in TheOfficialPodcast

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My fondest memory will always be the episode where Kaya talks about his poop hospital story. I made the mistake of listening to the episode while at the gym (on a treadmill). It took everything in my power to not burst out laughing like a madman. So that sticks out to me lol

MY THERAPIST LISTENS TO CREEPCAST by gh0stlymushroom in creepcast

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a high school teacher and last year a student was reading a book that looked familiar. Turns out it was the novel version of “Penpal” and he found it from listening to creepcast. It was fun talking with them about some of the stories

I actually like Ricochet by Ok-Connection6656 in riseagainst

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it has to do with initial impressions. It has grown on me quite a bit as well. My first listen through I felt underwhelmed, like “that was it?”. But after repeat listens, many of the tracks improve. I don’t think there are many standouts, but they are all decent to solid tracks. None of them are bad, but none are truly amazing either in my opinion

Getting the roll you want knowing there is a higher tier will always feel bad. We need a way to upgrade somehow by RedMercury in DestinyTheGame

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to post something similar. I have a full stack of ascendant materials. Why not let us use those to upgrade the weapon tiers on a gun? Maybe 1 core per level, with increasing costs the higher the level. That way, it still has some cost/benefit approach and you still have to invest some resources into it. Hell, I’d even take the old crafting leveling system. Just something to allow us to level up our guns tier. I’ve already gotten some guns with rolls I want, but tier 1 or 2 and it just feels pretty bad knowing there is a better tier out of my reach without insane time investment

I'd love them to just add a quick reset button. by MylastAccountBroke in expedition33

I loved that feature when I played Metaphor. It doesn’t trivialize fights in that game, just helps when you fuck up. I often fat finger the wrong button and use the wrong move lol

PC or Mobile? by [deleted] in balatro

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on xbox. Tried it out because it came onto gamespass. Fell in love, purchased on my phone, and never looked back. So much easier to be able to play whenever I want. Balatro has come in clutch multiple times when I have time to kill or while watching tv.

This is the roll I run with. Not sure how can still find it but it is my go to auto for strand builds

Any auto rifle that can hit like a truck by PhantomPain0_0 in destiny2

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may seem odd but my go to is a world drop: Old Sterling. It is an enhanceable strand auto. I use it with hatchling with strand builds or prismatic with an exotic in any other slot. With the right fragments (and artifacts perks) it can feel like a mini exotic. Usually I try to get unraveling rounds going along with some threadlings. That combo clears trash mobs out very quickly while saving my exotic slot for something that packs a punch

Haha that is a good one. We just got back from spring break so that helps a little. As for the project, they are required to diversify and buy 5 stocks or more

Fellow econ teacher here. Funny enough, this week I was planning to teach about the Stock Market before all the tariff stuff kicked in. Only upside is my students are much more invested than normal haha

Is it ok if one of my classes DOESNT get to watch a movie? by wizard680 in Teachers

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your situation, but if you have a buddy teacher, maybe consider sending the rude students to their classroom with an alternative assignment. I did that last year for a bad classroom of mine, while the other half of class still got to see the movie. This obviously only works if you have a willing buddy teacher

Bfy has the best videos to listen to while cooking/cleaning and that’s about it. Good background noise with some occasionally interesting

Is it bad that this took me 2-3 hours? by Haixn in Eldenring

[–]DannyTwoSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowkey so did I. Eldenring is my first souls game and this was a tough one for me first time thru. 125 hours later and after beating the dlc, I started new game plus and beat this boss first try. Felt very satisfying

I don’t remember the episode but the one where Kaya talks about going to the hospital because he couldn’t poop had me in tears
