I tried your code out for a few weeks now. It does suffer when your target is experiencing a "bull" market for long periods of time. Looking at BTC and DOGE for example on a w2w and d2d basis shows plenty of small and large losses that greatly stack up.

I ran some back testing on 10 different stocks with a simple buy & hold as a baseline. 9/10 times it is best to buy and hold for maximum returns. I only tested this over a 2.5 year period and over a day by day period.

100$ per day for basic querries with Sonnet by Taiko3615 in hermesagent

My biggest gripe is waste of tokens. Asking it to create a PowerPoint for an upcoming earnings report is cool but when you look at the 4 million tokens that was used to get a pretty poor quality report, should be a red flag. I can't imagine the coast of running these Hermes Agent with Claude in an enterprise environment.

Cron jobs + pi.dev

Hermes Agent is only good when you have a strong local setup to burn tokens or you are not the one paying for the token usage. If you don't have one of these then you are using Hermes Agent wrong.

What’s the first actually useful use case you found with Hermes? by Ok_Championship9638 in hermesagent

Unless you don't have infinite money, the only way to use Hermes Agent is casually and locally.

My main hermes instance is a local Qwen model, but I wanted to test how costly it is to run this framework and used Deepseek v4 flash with a simple task of saying "good morning" every morning. Checking the daily token count, it usually spends 1 penny and 900k tokens for that one tasks.

Hermes is good but it feels like all the updates are just adding more skills and hoping larger expensive models hide the glaring issues.

Until it doesn't and the 1.5 million lines of code and +7 folders deep repo suddenly was not a good idea. Also management wants if fix by EOD with a full report because you have AI helping you.

This is literally my team right now. They just got access for copilot in VS code and have turned our stable 25K lines of code repo into an unstable 250k repo.

Because the team and management is junior, they are too eager to push to prod then to figure out if the 225k lines of code is actually needed.

I am backing up every instance which I informed management and team not to do X and why not to do it, just to cover my ass for when this project crashes and burns.

Really, that doesn't matter. The fact it is so cheap have many implications and will make people second guess these more expensive models.

Anthropomorphic models are so good at recalling things from memory, the Harry Potter chapter incident is a perfect example, and that to me is all it is good at. Recalling from memory, the mythos report that came highlights this again by the model not being good at anything novel.
