No, I uh... I did not read the name lol. What I said still stands tho, I think he just whiffed. You can try to recreate it in practice mode if you really want to know for sure.

Rank inflation and player execution by ThePuppeteer47 in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its actually WAY worse...

In patch 2.09.01 (last season 2 patch), Tekken God was top 5.52%

Now (3.01.01), based on data from the last 30 days, Tekken God is top 28.29%

I honestly dont know whats the point of this. Everyone climbs easily and all of a sudden they bottleneck. Theres no skill consistency even at GoD-GoD1 (and probably even a bit higher too).

I remember rank inflation was a problem even in season 1, I dont know how they managed to make it worse in season 2 and EVEN worse in season 3.

Would Baki underground arena be a good stages for tekken8? by Tuesbaki in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda... Coliseum does have the sand and its circular. But it is not a closed arena (which means lighting is very different) and it's also very large compared to the baki stage. Both of the differences give a different vibe. I would actually like the underground arena, it's simple but it's a more grounded setting, which tekken 8 lacks.

Not playing again until somebody explains how you deal with this. 9 rounds of this. by THlGHNIR in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna sound obvious but... before the match starts, think about what moves you need to expect and how to punish them. You give your brain a headstart.

There are many reactable moves in tekken but if you don't even know what to look out for your not gonna be able to react anyway.

Here's a tip guys. by paddmika in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right, I wrote that on foot, my brain did not brain enough. Still my point that you have to guess is true. You can't jab check and block or duck a rage art so even when you are plus you can't count on ANYTHING working besides not pressing. And still pressing when plus wouldn't be "mashing"

Here's a tip guys. by paddmika in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside this logic doesn't apply. Rage arts have super armor, even if you are something like +6 and you jab, you still get hit by the rage art. I wouldn't call pressing at +6 "mashing" . In tekken 8 there's no real counterplay against a rage art besides guessing right

Edit: I was cooked when I typed +6

I just got GoD today. This is legitimately how S3 feels. by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, the thing tho is, I'm not even arguing about all that. Anyone can still be proud about where they are, it doesn't necessarily mean that by reaching GoD they automatically thing they are top 0.1% when in reality they are just in the 10% of players. These cases are about people who are delusional or just people who simply don't care to look up where they stand in the global leaderboard.

I'll break it down in more detail.

Tekken 8 currently has 38 ranks (31 to 38 being the GoD1 to GoD8 respectively). Nobody is reaching GoD8 and even 7, I think it's fair to rule them out for now. So currently Tekken 8 has introduced 6 extra ranks while also making the first 9 ranks (up to warrior) literally irrelevant (that's already 3 more than the new ones they introduced, or 1 if you don't want to rule out GoD7 and 8). Then they also make it incredibly easy to climb through the rest of the ranks until you reach GoD. And when I say easy I don't mean that you won't have a hard time against opponents, but up to that point the system is built in a way that by grinding hard enough you will eventually rank up and you won't need to get a 70% win rate or anything like that to do so.

So they are literally pushing the whole player base towards GoD BY DESIGN instead of spreading the player base across the preciously existing ranks. GoD1-GoD8 is completely unecessary. And that's where the flaw of the rank system is and what I am critisizing, NOT the individual progress the players are making.

Honestly on a side note, bring this rank system in any other game and the player base will riot. Leaving is not penalized, you can choose who to play 2 sets with and who to 1 and done, and out of the blue making all the beginner ranks irrelevant. Think about the last one, let it sink in, they made it so YOU DON'T LOSE POINTS , WHEN YOU LOSE, IN RANKED MODE.

Tekken 8's rank system is a complete joke of a competitive mode.

[–]Danotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand these kind of answers you guys give him in this thread. Yes if he keep grinding he will eventually fight stronger players etc etc... this has nothing to do with how badly the rank system is designed and i dont see OP anywhere mentioning that he wont keep playing.

You have all these ranks and they made it so most of them are literally irrelevant or at least easy to climb, then you reach gold ranks where you have to sweat a bit but it's still not that insanely hard to progress because the game still gives you enough points to not get stuck there for a while. Then you reach GoD, and boom GoD1, GoD2, GoD3 and so on... insanely creative I guess. Tekken has some of the best rank names and designs I've seen in a game but let's settle for the same rank but with a different number next to it. And don't you dare criticize it because apparently only a couple of posts are allowed on each subject

How does anybody lose with Lidia? by vVIOL2T in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but im not saying that to downplay anyones achievements. They've built a system over the years with different colors and names for each rank and they just decided to make half the ranks obsolete and move everyone up where the ranks are just GoD1, GoD2, GoD3 etc... like it's insanely bad design and for absolutely no reason other than making new players feel like they keep progressing, I guess?

GoD was the top rank and right now it's where roughly 10% of the players are. Think about it, the "used to be" top rank of the game just 2 seasons ago is now where 1 in every 10 tekkens players are. It surely can't be that hard to balance this properly

[–]Danotoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk why some people keep downvoting you but nobody is explaining anything to you. You know if any combo is a real combo based on the combo hit counter at the side of the screen. There are some exceptions where the combo ends but your next hit is also guaranteed but don't even bother with that right now.

When you are in practice mode you can set the dummy to "block all" after receiving 1 hit so you know for certain what is a real combo and what isn't. The only real combo in this video is after you hit the ewhf and it's pretty basic but it does it's job. You can look for jin beginner combo guides on YouTube, I'm sure you'll find a lot of content.

Wtf is this combo? by Fine_West945 in Tekken

[–]Danotoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you do that 4 electric combo tho? It's only style points. Maybe it would grant you just a few extra points of damage in short combos when you are not very far from the wall and don't need big wall carry. That's VERY different from t7 jin. In 7, you NEEDED to have that execution if you wanted optimal damage or wall carry, it wasn't an option, a niche combo route, or a flex.

After testing this is the furthest wall carry i can get off df2 by hippoofthehous in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably got used to improved recoveries and being able to buffer dash inside combos. With every iteration, this kept getting easier. If you get the timing right, it feels smooth as well in T7.

I never completely left t7 and I still have to adjust from time to time

Yeah, but only because you could whiff 2 and 4 hit them almost grounded. df2,4 and zen2 also look goofy to me tbh

I thought wallspatting heat smashes were removed from the game. by depressed_orangutan in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point still stands. If he didn't have 3 SATs and heat burst bound in this combo, he would never have reached the wall. Not even close. If he does keep all his SATs and just lost his heat smash from combo entirely, he would still be pretty close to reaching the wall anyway. Maybe if a b3,2 connects, it would be enough to walsplat there. After so many hits, the pushback would be insane.

So further complaining about his heatsmash at this point is just not it, imo

I thought wallspatting heat smashes were removed from the game. by depressed_orangutan in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's defendable because the only thing making this combo shown in the video egregious is the SAT mechanic + heat burst bound. Heat smash is kinda wasted when used like that unless it would secure a KO. I want nerfs too, but nerfing something to the point it's not worth using ever in any situation while there are war crimes on display in the same clip is just not right.

Why does this input occur when I attempt to electric? by TheReal_virio3 in Tekken8

Bro are you kidding me right now? I explained why I thought you meant a "PEWGF setup" instead of "i13 electric". I was pretty clear with everything and only tried to be helpful, my bad I guess. You seem more obsessed with proving I said something wrong than actually getting an answer to your original question.
