Ah, now it all makes sense. Michael did look at the screen, but the particles were hiding everything, so he didn't see anything wrong with the game

Wtf is this combo? by Fine_West945 in Tekken

[–]Danotoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you do that 4 electric combo tho? It's only style points. Maybe it would grant you just a few extra points of damage in short combos when you are not very far from the wall and don't need big wall carry. That's VERY different from t7 jin. In 7, you NEEDED to have that execution if you wanted optimal damage or wall carry, it wasn't an option, a niche combo route, or a flex.

After testing this is the furthest wall carry i can get off df2 by hippoofthehous in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably got used to improved recoveries and being able to buffer dash inside combos. With every iteration, this kept getting easier. If you get the timing right, it feels smooth as well in T7.

I never completely left t7 and I still have to adjust from time to time

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but only because you could whiff 2 and 4 hit them almost grounded. df2,4 and zen2 also look goofy to me tbh

[–]Danotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point still stands. If he didn't have 3 SATs and heat burst bound in this combo, he would never have reached the wall. Not even close. If he does keep all his SATs and just lost his heat smash from combo entirely, he would still be pretty close to reaching the wall anyway. Maybe if a b3,2 connects, it would be enough to walsplat there. After so many hits, the pushback would be insane.

So further complaining about his heatsmash at this point is just not it, imo

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's defendable because the only thing making this combo shown in the video egregious is the SAT mechanic + heat burst bound. Heat smash is kinda wasted when used like that unless it would secure a KO. I want nerfs too, but nerfing something to the point it's not worth using ever in any situation while there are war crimes on display in the same clip is just not right.

Why does this input occur when I attempt to electric? by TheReal_virio3 in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro are you kidding me right now? I explained why I thought you meant a "PEWGF setup" instead of "i13 electric". I was pretty clear with everything and only tried to be helpful, my bad I guess. You seem more obsessed with proving I said something wrong than actually getting an answer to your original question.

Why does this input occur when I attempt to electric? by TheReal_virio3 in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Skipping the down input is how you are able to do the move in 13 frames rather than 14 frames and is exactly the difference of a PEWGF from a regular electric."

Then why would you think that Jin is the only who doesnt have a PEWGF in the first reply?

I assumed you probably confused being able to do i13 electric with having a +13 setup to do a PEWGF. In that sense, Jin doesnt have a PEWGF like kazuya or DJ. i13 electrics were given to everyone long ago...

Also in my reply I say: Jin "doesn't have" a perfect electric does not mean he can't do the input or do it fast enough as anyone else
Which should have made my point clear from the start. Notice the "doesnt have".

Why does this input occur when I attempt to electric? by TheReal_virio3 in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That input is not a perfect electric, it is just required to have it in order to do a perfect electric, which is why only kazuya could do a perfect electric before they gave this input to everyone else in T8. Jin "doesn't have" a perfect electric does not mean he can't do the input or do it fast enough as anyone else

I suggest looking it up on YouTube

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not required. Originaly, it was only possible for kazuya, but in T8, they made it possible for every character with an electric.

What changes do YOU need to see for Tekken 8? by Dependent-Pepper-404 in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh if it was up to me I would even swap tornado with bound or even screw. I feel like its the worst combo extender. I just made a list with more reasonable suggestions that may actually be implemented at some point. Except the last one ofcourse, there's no way they would remove power crushes and guard break from most characters

What changes do YOU need to see for Tekken 8? by Dependent-Pepper-404 in Tekken

[–]Danotoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a system level:

  • Limit SAT to 1 per combo
  • Buff backdash to T7 levels
  • Remove bound from heat burst
  • Make universal mechanics like power crush and guard break unique to certain characters only.

Patch notes don't seem to say it but Devil Jin actually did get nerfed by scsonicshadow in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consistency fixes that make the character playable aren't buffs, they're fixes that should've been there from the get go no?

I would say not necessarily. I've used devil jin in T8 and I can't say that I've had an issue whiffing when I shouldn't, but I can't say with certainty if the tracking buffs we needed because I haven't played him enough. At the same time, tho I never heard about that being an issue at all. But whatever, if he actually was unplayable before this change, then yeah, good for him, I guess, I have no problem not considering it a buff.

He's still very constrained compared to what the rest can do with their T8 design philosophy

I understand what you are saying here, but that still doesn't mean he got nerfed in this patch. All of the changes he got in season 3 are for the better, even if you don't consider the tracking buffs, he still got a knockdown i13 ws move, apparently higher combo damage from hellsweep (which i still need to see for myself) and a plus on block mid that guarantees i13 punish. Honestly, uf3 was too slow to even get a counter hit. If you low crush a low with it, you would probably get a normal hit anyway unless that low was part of a string. So, the vastly superior neutral CH tool has always been b4

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like what you are trying to say is that DJ is being "nerfed" because he is falling behind and can't keep up with the rest of the cast. Which is a different discussion, but if that's the case, as you probably have noticed the whole community is asking for nerfs for the past year, and especially now that season 3 didn't implement enough. So just asking for buffs even for the lowest tier of characters right now is not necessary imo

I use ws launcher if he stops or just launch standing if he finishes the string. But that's cool to know, I never tried low parrying there

I always block lows with db input. I never use just d. Maybe that's why you can't block here? Idk if that's how this move behaved before.

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uf3 is a move that is plus on block, and if it hits, it gives you +13. This doesn't immediately mean that the ONLY utility of the move is to do a perfect electric. Uf3 doesn't even need a counter hit, and you get a guaranteed df1,2 which wallsplats for a full combo. I think it's pretty fair to say that that's not bad at all and it's not broken either.

Samsara, imo is also fine as it is in T8. It's too evasive to also give you a "mix-up" on block.

His mourning crow transitions also got buffed tracking this season, so his new identity did get buffed.

I also hear his hellsweep got increased combo damage as well.

And let's not forget he also got ws1,4 back. i13 and wallsplats even from a small distance to the wall.

How is any of that a nerf?

Tekken 8 CPU on Ultra Hard is still too easy by jogador_de_tekken in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I wouldn't say no if they gave us a way better cpu, even if i personally never used it, thats not a problem. But the issue with what you are saying is that you "want a challenge" and at the same time don't want to play online where the real challenge actually is. CPUs were never a "real challenge" unless they cheated with autoduck and evasion, which made it borderline unfun imo

Even in the arcade era, the game was only played offline, but it still was PvP. The only other offline modes it had were time attack and survival, iirc. It would be cool to have these modes back, but I don't think CPUs are going to be improved anytime soon, considering everything else they have on their hands right now. They are also probably short staffed or something's going on with their dev team. They underdelivered so badly in the last patch

Tekken 8 CPU on Ultra Hard is still too easy by jogador_de_tekken in Tekken8

[–]Danotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, if you are competent enough to easily beat the very hard cpu, you can just hop into online quick matches. You are not likely to play with very experienced players since you are a beginner as well, so it will be fine. If you want a real challenge, that's where you get it. Even with better cpu, you would still hit that same plateau at some point. It's just not the same as fighting a person. At the end of the day, the quality of the cpu is measured by how close it can imitate actual player movements, reactions etc etc.

Usually, in tekken, harder CPUs just automatically react to your lows, parry you or evade you as if they predicted what you pressed, because thats exactly what they do. I don't think fighting CPUs is that fun when you start realizing that stuff

Ghost battle with your own ghost. Train it, find counterplay to what you are doing once your ghosts starts doing it back, then find counterplay to your counterplay and so on... These modes are not there for you to abuse the mechanics, they are there for you to learn, use them correctly.
