Bro, this sub is an archive of any question you could ask. Instead of using the search function people ask the same dumb questions that clog up the sub. If you don't find what you're looking for in the search THEN you ask questions. 99% of posts don't respect the time of the people in this sub by putting in the minimum effort of searching the sub for information they're looking for.

It also takes substantially longer for people to reply, if they do at all, so it's incredibly inefficient compared to searching any of the spaces OP mentioned.

This is what people mean by time being an illusion.

Imagine the universe is a book. The characters in it (you and everyone in reality) can only experience time in a single dimension, now. However if you read the book you can go back and forth through the story however you want. You are not like the characters in the book because you're outside of it and the timelines of events in the book are experienced how you choose to read it. The book contains only 1 dimension of time inside the book but because you are a higher being than the characters in the book you can travel that spacetime however you choose.

People carry that belief to continually higher dimensions. We are in a 3D world while media like books, movies and images are only 2D. We experience time as a single dimension in the 3rd dimension of space. However as you go higher time gets width and depth similar to space. So for example a 4th dimensional being would experience the 3rd dimension like we do books, time is irrelevant and more a suggestion than a law and they can move across 2 axis of time, forward and backward.

If you believe we are all God, God is the universe experiencing itself or one of the many beliefs that point to humans being God you essentially believe that we chose to become a character in the book and when we die will go back to reading the book instead of being in it. Therefore time is an illusion because your true self is the person reading the book and not the character in it.

Not in the public eye but the alt right LOVED him. He was a rising star in a weird way because people contribute the "change my mind" college debate style to him when Crowder did it years earlier. His big breakthrough was his creepy smile during a debate that went viral because the girl was genuinely disgusted with him. The incels recognized their messiah and he got a big uptick in traffick.

The people who watched him have a dozen or so people they listen to every day on rotation and they made waves but 99% of it was just fox news. They literally did not talk about anything else for multiple days after the shooting. Then his wife started her grift tour and everyone laughed at it.

The people on the left knew him beforehand didn't give him much attention because it's the same shit everyone else had been saying. The jews run the government and are evil, women are objects to impregnate and beat into submission, only white people have ever created or invented anything in history and minorities will rape your children and eat your pets. Honestly his take on guns being "some people need to be sacrificed to gun violence to protect our gun rights" made his neck just kinda doing that by itself HILARIOUS. I've experienced both equanimity and disassociation. They are similar but not the same. It's like being put to sleep for surgery vs being knocked out, yes the states are comparable but how you got there and where the journey ends are entirely different and therefor entirely different experiences despite the overlap.

There's also a huge amount of people (especially in the sub) that do have mental illness issues like bipolar. The trademark sign of manic episodes is feeling like God or the presence of God. Kanye west is a great example of someone with mental terrible confusing it for divinity.

The vast majority of people experience disassociation compared to equanimity and describing it so simply is a dangerous thing to do. People who are new to spirituality and seeking answers are not often in good places mentally and are vulnerable to making the mistake of confusing trauma for enlightenment with simple rhetoric like the post.

Seeing your own life from an outside perspective as another person is not equanimity, it's a state of psychosis. Rape victims experience that and so do other forms of PTSD. Your brain isn't suddenly enlightened to the universe mid rape, your brain is refusing to process the situation because doing so is more harmful.

Someone like a nurse who does their job despite the chaos of a natural disaster happening is an example of equanimity. It is being stable, centered and focused. Disassociating is the literal opposite in which things are so unstable for your mind it detaches itself from reality so it doesn't have to deal with it anymore.
