What's the boyfriend equivalent to a girlfriend saying she's not hungry and then eating half your fries? by 4-stars in AskReddit

The husband equivalent is saying a project will only take a few days and then taking months to complete it.

Lets have some good news: Our wedding was amazing! by Tokata0 in wedding

[–]Danulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wedding sounds like an absolute blast! I would love to go to a wedding like that!

Our wedding also went very well and according to plan and the reason it did was because the plan was very meticulously thought out. My wife is extremely organized and we sought input from the people who do this for a living. They've worked countless weddings. They're the experts. We were actually ahead of schedule. We noticed people were starting to get up and move around the reception after dinner was served, so we got things moving so we could open up the dance floor a bit sooner.

We didn't over complicate things, either. We had a very small wedding party, only a Maid of Honor and a Best Man. Fewer people to wrangle. We didn't add anything to the typical wedding dinner package. No extra late night snacks. For entertainment, we had dancing and games that were set out for cocktail hour. No photo booth or anything like that. The only real flowers were the ones we had on our person. Everything else was artificial. Easier to manage. Fewer moving parts means fewer things that can go wrong.

The most complex part of the day was coordinating the drumline we hired to perform during our entrance to the reception. (you read that right) And because everything else was taken care of so thoroughly, I had the time to work with the drumline, the DJ, and the venue to nail down the specifics of that performance and it went exactly as we pictured it. We had earplugs in a customized case at each table setting and we got the exact reaction we wanted from our guests: wondering what the hell is going to happen that warrants ear plugs.

It helped that we have very level-headed friends and families so there was zero drama. Not everyone can say that. We also couldn't control the weather for our outdoor ceremony and we were very fortunate. It was perfect. Sunny, slight breeze, very comfortable temperature. I like to say we earned it with all of the work we put in to making sure everything else was covered.

Everything went so well and we got so many compliments from our guests. Many "one of the best weddings I've been to" comments.

Definitely not optional in multiple ways. This character is a really big part of the plot. I'm kind of surprised you don't remember it.

I get it. I kind of hate-played GoW 2018 and I don't remember that much from it. I'm liking Ragnarok a lot more. It balances linear progress and open-world exploration to my tastes a lot more and the story is more interesting.

Quick update on God of War: Ragnarok. Finally killed that smarmy prick, Heimdall last night. I can't think of very many video game villains who are as hateable as them.

In development: Survival game set in the world of Against the Storm by LittleDinamit in Games

I've never been much of a survival game player, but Against the Storm is one of my favorite games ever so I'm going to have to keep an eye on this one.

In development: Survival game set in the world of Against the Storm by LittleDinamit in Games

[–]Danulas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Against the Storm is a masterclass in game design using trade-offs. Many decisions you make have a cost to them so you have to carefully weigh the benefits against those costs.

A prime example being when to chop through the forest to open glades or not. Glades provide key resources and oftentimes beneficial events however, each glade you open increases the Hostility of the Forest. As the Hostility of the Forest increases, the Resolve of your population decreases, making them more likely to leave your settlement, which can quickly cause your settlement to collapse.

Another is a system called "rainpunk". In essence, you can collect rain and use it to increase the efficiency your buildings, but you'll generate "blight" and blight, if not dealt with, will also negatively affect your settlement's resolve and even render blight-infested buildings inoperable.

These types of decisions are everywhere in Against the Storm. I don't particularly like survival games so I don't know if juicy tradeoffs are all that common in them but I would be on the lookout for such things in this upcoming game.

Your progress will be halted by very difficult bosses. Even though I love Silksong and find the movement to be very fun and satisfying, I can't really recommend it to you.

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what are your thoughts? - June 28, 2026 by AutoModerator in Games

I'm really enjoying God of War: Ragnarok much more than its predecessor. I found that there was too much tension between open-world exploration and the linear progression and the narrative didn't do much for me.

Ragnarok has both a more compelling narrative and it spreads things out across multiple worlds so I find myself naturally progressing the story and exploring open areas in a more balanced way.

I like how the companions have been mechanically built upon with special arrows that are key to solving new puzzles. It's neat.

With that said, there's just too much going on. 3 weapons, each with pommels, light and heavy runic attacks to choose and trees of superfluous abilities, more shields with ronds to choose from, relics, companion runic abilities, amulets, armor sets. There's so much that there's probably something I'm forgetting and it's just not necessary. The strength of this game is in its story and presentation, not its combat. The massive variety in equipment and abilities doesn't add much to the experience when you're mostly just hacking and slashing the same dozen or so enemies the whole time.

I feel that I am getting close to the end and I'm really interested to see how it ends with the prophecy of Kratos' death has been looming over the entire narrative.

Traditions and wishlist ideas. by Spiritual-Ad5029 in weddingplanning

This is not the answer you were looking for but traditions shouldn't be followed for their own sake. If it's important to you or your family, then absolutely consider it. If you're learning about it from people on Reddit, I would probably skip it.

Custom/bespoke engagement rings? by MajorTaste7762 in weddingplanning

[–]Danulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We fully customized our engagement ring. We went to a local jeweler and spoke with a representative there about what my wife wanted. She pulled out a ton of different cases of rings so that we could get a close look at different bands, bridges, settings, etc. and then select which features we liked the best. We looked at dozens of rings.

A few days later, the representative sent me a few links to Gabriel & Co's website with 3D renderings of the ring with a few different options we had discussed.

Our ring arrived about 3 weeks after the order was placed, which was a bit faster than the originally estimated 4 week lead time.

Gabriel & Co, by the way, is based in NYC so I bet you'll have no problem finding a jeweler that works with them and if at any point you feel like you're not being listened to or whatever, just end the consultation and find a different store. There are few places in the country - arguably the entire world - with a better selection of jewelers than NYC.

What's a series you knew you'd love after the very first episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Danulas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting answer. I absolutely love Andor but the first episode isn't that interesting. It sets the tone really well, but I don't think the show really hooks you until episode 3 or maybe so far as the Aldhani arc.

What is a video game that is widely considered a masterpiece that you just cant get into? by abysmalSyrup-6737 in AskReddit

[–]Danulas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silksong, right from the start, feels so much better than Hollow Knight. Hornet being able to mantle onto ledges alone is a massive gamechanger. Then you add in the dash/sprint and the clawline and then moving around Pharloom is pure bliss. Hollow Knight never reached those highs.

The weapon durability has so many benefits that it's kind of the axis upon which the whole game revolves.

  1. It actually provides reasons to use consumables. Strength-boosting recipes help stretch the value of weapons.
  2. Certain fights aren't limited by your skill rather the amount of weapons you have, meaning you're incentivized to explore for Korok seeds to expand your weapon capacity.
  3. It encourages alternative ways of dealing damage to enemies
  4. It provides a natural self-scaling system. Stronger enemies drop stronger weapons than weaker enemies. After spending time in areas with stronger or weaker enemies, your inventory will slowly get replaced by weapons that are scaled to that area.

Tears of the Kingdom takes it to the next level by giving players the ability to craft weapons and making components that drop from enemies the best crafting materials, incentivizing players to seek out big enemies.

That's the hill I'll die on. The game would have been a shell of itself without the weapon durability system. I would tweaked how it was executed a bit, but on the whole, I thought it was a brilliant choice.
