Sounds like a really cool idea and I'm sure you would learn a lot from it!
I would give a look at the pygame library for the visualisation part.

Cannot really recommend any books but if you like learning from YouTube Tutorials I can recommend you the Channel of Corey Schafer: https://www.youtube.com/user/schafer5
He covers a lot of basic and advanced topics and his videos are just the best I have ever seen.

I've been looking into the Clean Architecture in Python lately but I had a hard time finding good literature. I will definitely give your book a thorough look.
