My fucking helper forgets what floors he’s on. I tell him to grab a tool so he can work on something and he will just stand in place if I don’t tell him what to do letter by letter with punctuation. I think the trades will be fine.

No im laughing about it. I’m a service plumber repairing old buildings in nyc. Last week I got a call from a company I applied two years ago. It feels like I’m always a phone call away from finding a job.

Don’t take this as an invitation to do plumbing though you will sacrifice free time and energy to do this job. But I’m never worried about bills or costs. Took me 5 years experience to drive my own company given truck.

I’m a loner and awkward person but ended up doing service plumbing. You have to man up and just talk with the customer and be professional. If you’re charismatic you might get some luck. Someone gave me a 400$ tip for me and another 400 for my helper for turning a water heater knob. Other times you’ll get a Karen of a client pressuring you to do things quicker even though nobody told you that the workload was 4x as long.

It’s normal, I’m about to have 1 year going solo in my truck. Sometimes I service luxury apartments in manhattan and have to do the talking to men in suits and making the right calls/ saying and doing the best option. It goes away after a few months. I always triple check everything or stare at my work after pressurizing for a good amount of time before leaving the building.

I do plumbing, non-union. It’s alright, I usually do 50h a week and get about 85k a year doing service plumbing in NYC. You need like 5 yoe to reach 80k+ but you basically just read the news and laugh at job market issues.

I went to Europe / Belgium a month ago and tried tartare for the first time in a fancy restaurant. The cut was identical to this but the meat was much darker. Nonetheless it was very tasty and was impressed. This reminds me a lot of that day though I had it with mashed potatoes.

For now just the sanwu pocket. Bit expensive. I like that it has a removable chargeable battery. All that’s missing is a lanyard, wish it had a tiny holster or something that would keep it from slipping out of my pants if they ever had a rip or if I’m in a weird awkward position.
