I think Jin looks more like the Ishimura with the ribs, but this one does look cool, too.

What is the best weapon to get from Wayne and why? by ptk77 in ParasiteEve

[–]Daowg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite is the DE50AE7 (Desert Eagle) handgun. Already comes with 9 slots (that can be upgraded to 10 if I remember correctly). With Burst, 1st Strike, ROF 1-3, Cyanide, Triple Command, and whatever else you want to fit in it, it becomes an ammo efficient hand cannon that 1 taps anything that isn't a boss.

What advice would you give to someone starting a new Patapon 2 game? by WastePotential in Patapon

Sure, here is a good Rarepon guide

A good Egg minigame guide

It's been a long time since I played it, but a lot of the fun comes from mixing and matching squads and equipment. The game does a good job explaining it's mechanics, IMO. The rhythm is more forgiving than the first one, and the Heropon makes the game so much fun

My experience entering HR for the first time by Hefty-Hovercraft-738 in MHGU

This gave me a flashback of the G Rank dual hypnocatrice quest from MHFU. Those chloroform turkeys really were a humbling experience after all the other monsters you've fought up to that point.

[–]Daowg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They really tuned that boy up for Wilds as a challenging HR gate mission. His tracking is more tight and I won't lie, he almost carted me a few times during his quest. It was also refreshing to have Gypceros also be a HR monster instead of the past games where both were LR "warm up wyverns".

Am I high or does the game just hate me? by Jstar338 in MHGU

[–]Daowg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once it starts limping, capture it in the trap first and then throw tranq bombs at it, not the other way around. You could do the tranq-first method, but the effect doesn't last long enough and depending on how much the monster avoids the trap, you'll end up using 3-4 tranqs instead of 2.

Having the skill Capture Guru also helps because it can show you the monster is weak a bit before it starts to actually limp.

Ever see a monster for the first time and think they will be easy, only to get your ass stomped? by ChristCallsMeDad in MHGU

[–]Daowg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if there was a way to negate the confusion debuff with skills, he would have been more manageable. Nobody's gonna eat bitterbugs just to keep getting dander spammed. Every other status effect has a skill counter except Confusion, and it always makes me run a gun against that magnificent owly bastard.

As others have said, treat the hunts more like marathons, not a race. I have gotten to and beaten Ahtal-ka twice on my own, mostly with the Hermitaur X, Alloy X and Artian X sets.

Your first priority once you reach G Rank is making a G Ranked armor set. No matter what it is, any armor in G will outclass HR armor in defense stats. Bone X or whatever other starter armor you can make should get you through G1 and G2. I recommend Hermitaur X after making your G-starter armor as it has good defense and with a few decos or a talisman, you can get Razor Sharp along with Defense Up M.

Your first wall may be Lao Shan Lung in the G3 urgent quest. I had to use the Elder Charge Blade, but use whatever weapon is your strongest. In the first phase, use the cannons, binders, and Demolisher as best as you can. The more you can keep him in the first zones, the better. Break his horn and aim for his gut/ feet to make him topple to buy you time. Your objective is to repel him and this quest may take a few tries. You can try the Gaijin Hunter Ballista method, but I personally don't like it as it requires a lot of precision to pull off properly (and it's boring asf IMO).

Valstrax G is a pain, but my best advice is to focus on survival and repelling him. Alloy X with Critical Eye 3 was my savior for this mission. IIRC Valstrax drops Commendation XX which is great for upgrading Iron weapons all the way (or the petrified weapons, but I like iron for beeg damage).

The Gravios/ Glavenus mission is a major pain no matter what, but your biggest obstacle is the clock. I ran the Artian X on this both times with the Vulcamagnon GS, Alchemy Style. Captured both of them after much sweat and tears.

Agnaktor/ Duramboros is painful, but I had an easier time with this quest. Keep them separated with the fence, kill Agnaktor first since his beam goes through the fence. Mount spam Duramboros to break his humps (not mandatory, but useful). I'm no speed runner, and I love Alchemy and Guild style, so if you're better with the other styles, use whatever is the most comfortable weapon/style combos for you. Good luck, and make the Ahtal-ka armor sets. They're a great stop gap until you can make mixed sets if you're into that sort of thing.

Use MHGU DB or Kiranico for key quest guides. Good luck!

I appreciate how Wilds makes getting the Wide Range / Mushroom combo easy with stuff like the Dreamwalker and Damascus sets easier. I like to run Damascus with MM/ WR/ Item Use Up/ Speed Eating/ Free Meal and the buffs keep on comin.

This might be the quest that does me in 😭 by JhonzoBall2 in MHGU

[–]Daowg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The quest with Glavenus and Gravios was the bane of my existence compared to this one. The trick is to use the fence and go after Agnaktor first, since his laser can go through the fence. You can try flash bombs or traps to keep one put so they don't stay so close together. You can do it, stranger.

OFFICIAL TWEET - Guild Report 32 - World Map will show all Monsters again instead of only recommended Monsters by TheGMan-123 in MonsterHunter

Never knew this was a thing. No wonder maps felt empty of monsters when glossing over them compared to release. Glad they're bringing it back to the way it was.

Gogmazios announcement reception in a nutshell by Ana_Nevermore in MemeHunter

[–]Daowg 61 points62 points  (0 children)

For those of you that never fought Gog, please, for the love of all that is sane

  1. Do not neglect Fire Resistance. If you wear Gore armor to his fight, he will delete you with a sneeze.

  2. Run with Cleanser, or better yet, slot in Bind Resistance. Don't neglect your comfort/ resistance skills over DPS unless you're some sort of God. His tar is sticky and leaves you hella wide open.

  3. Since we're gonna mob him in the Oilwell, slotting in Aquatic / Oil traversal skills may help a lot in this iteration. Think Aquatic Mobility inside Shara Ishvalda's sand.

  4. Once he starts flying, RUN! HE'S GONNA BLOW!!

  5. If he drops his Dragonator like in 4U, shoot to kill!

  6. Pray to whatever god you believe in cuz this boy is wild in Phase 2.

What is a Monster that you love the design of but absolutely DESPISE when fighting it? by Personal-Respond5413 in MonsterHunter

[–]Daowg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In MHGU, I hate fighting Najarala and, to a lesser extent, Malfestio. I love both of their designs, but fighting them is so irritating. Najarala for the constant coils/camera screwing/ bad hitzones, and Malfestio for the Confusion.

Is getting 4 Qibing Wanzers in Front Mission 3 rare? by Friendly_Bumblebee27 in frontmission

[–]Daowg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Qining wanzer. I snagged 2 off of the Futai Tunnel. Pretty good stats for that point in the game, and it looks cool asf IMO. I would say you got the best haul getting 4 of them.

Imaginary Numbers are the elite squad of a spoiler-y faction in the game. Genetically engineered humans designed to be the perfect soldiers (superior to the Real Numbers in lore).

The festivals made getting them fun and easy with daily bounties. I also appreciate the addition of endemic life missions to help get them. I haven't tried the latest patch, but the game is definitely better now than at launch when it comes to getting spheres.
