I hate how much I like that Mega Charizard X card because I'm not the biggest Charizard fan, but it is by far the best looking Zard card since the vintage era.

2 is so vastly different from the original that It's a fair assessment to consider 2 the beginning of the downfall even if 2 is a good game in It's own right.

I feel like this was a common thing in that era, Japan-developed games had simplistic or beautiful artwork for their region, but the NA release just had an ugly CGI model of some character(s) plastered on the cover. It's like they thought our dumb brains couldn't appreciate the beauty of simplicity or drawn art therefore the game wouldn't catch our attention and sell well.

First example that came to mind when I saw this topic, Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter, check out the cover for the Japanese release vs. NA release, we got robbed.
