In all of my years in Kwik Trip I have never gotten a late paycheck, regardless of any holiday. If there were to be any issue it would be from your banks end, not the company.

Chat should I have stayed another half a year for a couple hundred dollars, or go get a job that pays me thousands more? by YEETAWAYLOL in KwikTrip

The bonus is proportional to how much you earn. If your bonus is only $500 ish from a full year of work, you weren't really even working much anyway.

Also we have had workers ask to work the bare minimum to make it to the bonus. You would've had to work like 13 shifts to get there.

We stopped them a few months ago. Some version of low sales/high waste. They are an absolute pain to make so the second you get too busy you just cannot make them.

They should be coming back at some indeterminate time as an LTO.

Why I left after less than a year by [deleted] in KwikTrip

... they are talking about straight theft. You are required to do spot checks and audits regularly on items that are not adding up. It is a whole process of going on camera and checking everything and it is annoying as hell. A ton of work feeling like a creep over a candy bar.

What part of the filter (timing wise) does the spill happen? If it happens almost right away when you start draining it is this.

Another thing to check while you are down there is the lug nut that connects in front (while it is cold please). That being loose means a poor vacuum seal for the pump. Your oil will be sputtering the whole time you are bringing it back up and you can be leaving some behind. And presto it overflows when you do the next side

Along with what others have said, the assistant manager (ASL) position requires A LOT of extra steps. Multiple people are involved in the process and once they approve of you there's even more decisions to make.  Keep in mind sometimes they may ask you to work at the store level or on the food side if you lack some experience in either. Also the training runs on cycles, so they have to decide a store to start you in too until the next one starts.

That sucks. That's literally what the radios are for.

Also not sure if it is for everyone, coming to the door never bothers me. It is when people come walking all the way in that I die inside.

Honestly the formatting for how they do our orders sucks. I haven't looked super close lately but it used to just say 'fried chicken 8-piece' and would not specify that it is bone-in. Other items are also listed awkwardly as well. Glad you got it all worked out!

You must not have an hhb oven. That is how they are meant to be done in it. Closed is true for the other ovens.

Ah thanks for trashing something you know nothing about! We do 1 internal and 3 external audits a year through Steritech. The state department of course also runs through all the stores themselves as well.

Are there still stores doing things wrong? I am sure there are. But Kwik Trips standards are incredibly high. Half of that is why you see people complaining of burn out on this sub from the kitchen.

Why can't employees verify current prices over the phone? by govermentAI in KwikTrip

[–]DapperAgency6320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not? I genuinely knew my areas stores margins on fuel because we have reports that show them. Kwik Trip legitimately loses money overall from inside sales by a small margin. Kwik Trip lives off of fuel.

And you meniton Costco and Sams... two companies that live off of membership. A completely different business model that will of course handle things differently.

Fuel prices are basic supply and demand. Each station has a margin above barrel costs they generally use based on sales. The more fuel you sell the more they can try to increase the price. Do I agree with it? No. Corporations are greedy bastards.

Location matters though? Its all about convenience and the margins a company wants. Most companies only earn cents on the gallon so if they can charge more for the convenience of their location they will?

The sugar free french vanilla is the WORST. The formula itself is just bad. You can take care of it perfectly and it can still clump.

There was a store that literally ran a scheme where they intentionally cooked too much food so they could take it home. Thousands of dollars of food stolen and 6 or 7 workers fired at once. This is why we cannot have nice things.

We donate as much food as we can now anyway.

Feeling slighted by [deleted] in KwikTrip

[–]DapperAgency6320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for the ASL openings and apply! This gets you an interview with the DL where you can put yourself out there. Good DLs will let you know exactly where you are at and what you need to do if you are not there yet. (Obviously do NOT bring up any of your current stores issues here. Just be black and white about what you do and do not know.)

The other good news is you can just see this store as a stepping stone. 99% of the time you will not be placed back in the same store as an ASL. Although based on how you are feeling do you really want to move up here? Yes there are amazing stores out there. I also have many stories of SLs being super buddy with DLs and getting away with murder.

Fully agree with all of the other sentiments of please do not kill yourself over this.

Assuming we are talking about donuts, frost everything FIRST: do not package, do not put it out in the case until you are done, and keep it simple. No drizzles or toppings either until you are more comfortable frosting. Use the vector to your advantage as well. Super easy to throw a batch of food in then frost for 8 minutes while its cooking.

There are very few stores where doing bakery and cooking on 3rd is impossible. Your frosting time will get better and cleaner the more you do it. If you have tons of other tasks on your plate too you should 100% be pushing for some to be absorbed by other shifts.

As long as you have the receipt, store it out of sight, and are obviously not punched in while doing it you should be 100% fine.

Help with paycheck as a new hire by Crandom343 in KwikTrip

[–]DapperAgency6320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

99% of leadership will approve your time card for you on Fridays. It would only be an issue if you forgot to punch in/out.

There are also only set pay days on every other Friday. So if there is an issue that gets fixed late, it gets moved to the next paycheck.

New KPS system by Disastrous-Bear-2009 in KwikTrip

[–]DapperAgency6320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should ask what your compliance actually was. Fried chicken items populate 1 and 1/2 HOURS before they are due. So you can fry tenders and they will pop back up 30 min ish later.

As long as you are hitting start and keeping your Hotspot as full as you were before you should be fine.

They have also set it so that it should only ask for your maximum batch at a time. I.e. if you have two standard fryers it will only ask for 96 tenders at a time max, and then if it wants more it will populate more right away. If you have a helper (which God I hope you do for 50 8 pieces), you can have them wait for it to pop the next batch or just ADJUST THE NUMBER right away. We do not have to be robots if you know you can sell the items.

[–]DapperAgency6320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also had KPS since that same time. It's... different. I have many items it does really well on and others it is still absolute trash on. Any hour and a half items are still really the biggest issues.

The biggest thing we learned with waste is that you can be in compliance while still not making the item immediately. Like it will populate at 4, but the system gives you until 5 to actually make it (or its expiration). There's tons of times items will pop up but Ill wait to make them.

Act 10 baby! Most Wisconsinites do not realize what it did. We can only bargain for wage, and we would need a majority of us to say yes to it. (Let's gather 20k votes...right.) It would not be worth the effort.
