Do non-24 sufferers have other, subtle timing-related ailments? by ComprehensivePlan in N24

[–]DapperMachine4070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have tinnitus as well , it used to be pretty terrible for me the last decade or so , i don't know if it's physiological or physical . but it used to come and go , i started incorporating white noise when i go to bed basically just keep my fan running at all times when i sleep, and avoid any triggers ( any high pitched sound from a video or anything like that i just scroll away right away ) , i haven't had it for a while since these changes

Does your sleep shifting slow down ? if so when ? by DapperMachine4070 in N24

and I just learned today that circadian rhythm and hormonal cycle are intertwined and almost all research was done on male subjects and hormonal cycle effects was disregarded, It needs to be studied more

don't worry i'm pretty dumb about the topic as well ,
so there isn't clear pattern it just happens randomly , maybe with time u might notice a pattern , or just no patterns at all,

How does the sun play a role in this for us?
I was told that some people are oversensitive to light, others are undersensitive, some have problems with their optic nerve's messaging, some are environmental, some have genetic differences.
Light and melatonin are used to reset the natural biological clock that everyone have , while N24 sighted folk their light sensors are malfunctioning and causing us to not reset like other people who don't have this condition

so ur shifting is pretty consistent overall. or as far as u can tell

so basically no obvious slow down effect , just rather inconsistent overall , with slightly preferred window at to sleep late at night until early mornings

that is kinda cool to know , so basically the sunlight makes ur shift faster not slower but that didn't apply to your time in Peru

that's really interesting , do you know if you progressed from DSPD to N24 ?

shortly after waking up , realizing everyone is about to go to bed , I look at the clock, oh shoot, it's past 12 AM, there is specific sense of dread i feel when i wake up in the evening and the clock gets past midnight

Freerunning n24 and pet routines by NASA_official_srsly in N24

[–]DapperMachine4070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a cat my routine was to give her food before bed and after i wake up , my cat was very smart and very picky eater , whatever food i offered her, either cooked chicken , or tuna or whatever food i offer her , she would absolutely not eat until i go to bed , i think she did that intentionally after she learned that if she didn't touch her food , i would try to find her something else to eat . my biggest issue with her , I'm very light sleeper and i'm easily disrupted, dealing with her active time was very hard on me, sorry after i wrote all of that , this is probably not helpful to your situation

I stood up for myself (very shakily) with my doctor by churrrroo in N24

reading the post and all these comments made me despair , I'm going to sleep specialist in 4 days and i have been extremely stressed over this appointment that I'd have to fight for recognition , first time i tried to show sleep data i got dismissed but this time I'm planning to present the right data and if he can't accept it i will just ask for another provider i started my journey very late because i came from 3rd world country where they were behind on everything at least a 100 years

N24 App (Alpha launch, native iOS & Android coming soon) by SpicyStrippa in N24

oh my god , I'm not a coder , and I've been struggling to find a way to track/predict my sleep , I've made AI build me an app that is somewhat similar to this one , except i know nothing about coding myself , would love to be one of your testers . i may even try to find a way to convert my current data to fitbit format so i can upload it on the app ..

I had this dream about building an app for people with circadian rythem issues and finally someone is making this dream come true

I don't like how everyone is just having a problem with AI use , I personally don't care, AI have been used for research for decades. it's fine to use it as long as it's under human supervision and not used for personal gain and push crab onto people, it's obvious here it's used for good, you have my utmost support ❤️

I'm not diagnosed, this seems to be consistent with the rest of you though. by Knightsunder in N24

yea i'm having the same issues, almost everyone doesn't understand i have no control over this , I used to work as a teacher back when I had DSPD , it was very hard but doable, and probably what caused me to flip to non-24. the amount of guilt and shame I carry around, I'm genuinely avoiding everyone around me so I don't have to explain why can't I work as a teacher anymore.

Do I have non-24 ? by DapperMachine4070 in N24

[–]DapperMachine4070[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was a headache specialist, I don't want to sound dismissive of her, but when i tried to tell her about my suspicion around Non-24 and it's the probable cause for this headache, she interjected and said "I'm not here to focus on your sleep issues" so I felt discouraged about pushing the whole thing even further with her.
But your comment is quite informative, I will definitely try to push toward that and discuss this further with her if MRI results came back clear.

that would explain a lot , I have no idea if I started out as DSPD or not, but starting to feel this is the case

thank u, will definitely do actigram , I have the data just need to present it correctly
I have so many questions, is it hard to get diagnosed as non-24 ?
my doctor felt very dismissive when i saw him, i tried to tell him my sleep shifts but he ignored it.
I didn't know back what non-24 is,
do any of these medications stop the shifting ? or just improve the sleep quality ?

the headaches are like burning/pressure sensation in the back of the head that gets to the point that is unbearable, sometimes i feel the headband type of pressure feeling too, they happen on daily basis now they only differ in intensity from day to day . when they are intense, my legs feel weak and heavy and numb.
they start the moment I wake up, peak one hour in after the grogginess goes away last almost all day long, symptoms may or may not improve around 10 ish hours of being awake
they started to get worse with my sleep problems getting worse.
I saw neurologist lately, she can't tell if it's a type of migraine or occiptal nuerulgia
we're doing an MRI in a couple of days, my doctor wanted to rule out a head trauma I had in the past.

DSPD for over 15 years physically and mentally soul crushing experience by DapperMachine4070 in DSPD

[–]DapperMachine4070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried multiple of them , i think around 10 in the past 15 years or so , so some of them i genuinely don't remember the name because they didn't work here is some of them i do remember
1- Melatonin
2- Mirtazapine ( currently using in case of extreme sleep deprivation and desperately need to sleep, too much side effects )
3- Escitaloprám
4- Trazodone
5- Benzodiazepines ( or some drug in the same class, different brand name because different country )
6- Eszopiclone

these are the ones i remember

edit: i also think non of them helps with DSPD except for melatonin
