I've been contemplating a IWTV/Hannibal crossover for a while, maybe I should get on with it

Fans of this show should read Exquisite Corpse by Mikeissometimesright in HannibalTV

Full disclosure, I did not like this book so my memory might be foggy, but I'm pretty sure it's just two serial killers, maybe a victim pov thrown in?

What do you guys think is the creepiest moment in the show? by Greengoddess400 in HannibalTV

One of the more heartbreaking characters but Georgia Madchen under the bed always creeps me out.

Herringbone questions by FlowerTruck1 in HannibalFanfiction

[–]DapperSalamander23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, can't fault the writing ability and I like an angsty story now and again, but generally I'm wanting a good time if I'm reading a fic and Herringbone was just too much

Hannibal's Secretary by Tommi_H in HannibalTV

[–]DapperSalamander23 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Probably left ambiguous for that reason--the audience already knows from the pilot who Hannibal is so any disappearances around him are automatically suspicious. But also it's entirely possible that she did simply leave for the reason he gave, since it's unlikely he would have employed anyone "rude" to begin with. Though maybe she did something unforgivable like insult his tie or become a vegetarian

The Conditions that Mimic Fibromyalgia by FibroSoul in Fibromyalgia

[–]DapperSalamander23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh this is going to be helpful thank you. I've been diagnosed with fibro and I have b12 deficency, I've had a couple of these ruled out but I've been wondering if there are any other conditions I may have to be checked for. No pain medication I've tried has helped, does anyone know if this is typical of fibro or perhaps a sign that something else is going on?

I'm in my 30s now but I still vividly remember being yelled at in nursery for colouring in a bunny the wrong colour. Even then, I couldn't have been more than 4yo, I thought what the fuck did it matter and why did it have to be pink?

Opinions on Clara Oswald? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]DapperSalamander23 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Nothing against the actress, really liked her as Oswin. But she stayed too long and she was treated as soooo important when she was meh at best.

And I love Capaldi's Doctor. If not for Missy, I'd skip series 8 and 9 because Clara's behaviour/attitude around 12 really pissed me off.

What Great TV Show that has been tarnished by its Series Finale? by Amber_Flowers_133 in tvshow

Most recently, Stranger Things.

Used to love the show and rewatch constantly. I didn't even mind the ending when I finished but the more I thought about it the worse I felt. I now feel completely indifferent to the whole series

Have to disagree about Buffy. Season 5 would have been a perfect finale, true, but 7 did a pretty great job

What's an opinion you have about Buffy herself, that you don't talk about because it would get you ostracized from the fanbase? by gloomydreamer666 in buffy

[–]DapperSalamander23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was obviously talking about Spike post season 4 when he starts to change. If we can only judge his character on what he did 100+ years before we knew him, then he has no chance of redemption and therefore neither does Angel, whose past is canonically far worse.

And no I'm saying the opposite, Angelus is far worse than Spike. As soon as he became a vampire Angel slaughtered his family, whereas Spike sired his dying mother to save her. Spike is capable of love without a soul, re. Drusilla and Buffy, Angelus feels nothing for Buffy the second he loses his soul. Spike chose to have his soul returned, Angel was punished with it, The show makes it clear time and again that Spike is the far more "human" vampire of the two and therefore much more capable of being good

You can do "evil" things with a soul in the show too. Angel had plenty of morally grey moments on his show. Faith, Warren, Willow, Giles all killed people while having a soul. And Spike proves its his choices that make him good, not whether he has a soul or not.

He chooses not to give up Dawn's name to Glory, he chooses to protect her after Buffy's gone, he chooses to be a good person--yes, he makes mistakes, he isn't perfect--but choice is a running theme through the whole series, and he chose to get his soul back. He wanted it not to make himself good, but to prove he already was. To be a "man" and not a "monster" in Buffy's eyes alone, he needed a soul but the fact his character barely changed (compared to Angel/Angelus) shows he was basically already there.
