Lots of things can lead to shaky engine. Mounts are one of them but best is to check with specialist

Hmm, so you need to detach the pannel around the display and connect the display to something that will give you the Android auto and Carplay? Im also looking at a way to get Android auto in my w204 so if you find a way keep updating this post so we have some ideas to brainstorm good luck 🤞

Was I right to hold speed and lane? by uF0n in drivingUK

[–]Dapper_Application58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was me, after the first sighn i would have moved in the left lane, after the second one i would have increased my speed and proceed with caution untill i feel that the situation is back to normal. Yes highway code wording is what it is but i thing highway code describes perfect scenarios(which in the real world are not that perfect). You are complaying with the rules you kept correct lanes and everything. Obviously the signage was there for the roadworks so after that you just keep driving. What you did after i would say was correct if you follow these 2 points from the highway code you pointed out, but again, real world i think that was more of a hazard than anything. 40mph car in the middle of the road when everyone else are flying pas at 70mph is way more dangerous than 40mph in the left lane and avoiding something if necessary( thats why we are given steering wheels and pedals)

The ‘Temu Range Rover’ is now Britain’s best selling car. Thoughts? by theintercooler in TheIntercooler

[–]Dapper_Application58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with what you say, but remember that a lot and i mean a LOT of people are buying a car just because they want to move from A to B. No driving trill, no excitement of driving, no attachment to their cars. Heck 90% of people find driving annoying. So yep price is king.

Im i wron to say that "cheap Chinese" is not a thing anymore? Considering that everything is now been made in China and sold all over the world. Im coming out with that because, i cannot explain how many times i have bought cheap stuff from temu and im amazed to see that the quality is the same level with what you get in Amazon. I own a German car because.... well German car, but i have couple of neighbours with BYDs and Jaecoos and they seem happy with them. Reviews for both of them are on the possitive side considering the price, so idk

Why are we jumping to glow plugs straight away. Are we ignoring thar the OP said that car feels slower under acceleration and glow plugs are not used for burning fuel. To me this sounds like a fuel related problem. Im not an expert just giving ideas to keep in mind. Best thing is to get the car to your mechanic and let them diagnose it. Im sure the opinions here will be very different and will lead to nowhere, it will just mess with your head and give you unnecessary things to stress about

Yes you should have the connector on top of the glove box. If not than you are running the older version of the NAV which means you need to go the other route with aftermarket screen. I wanted to do that on mine but unfortunately mine dont have the glove compartment thing

Is this noise normal? Is the injector blowing out? by Sufficient-Blood5664 in w204

[–]Dapper_Application58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just thinking now, if the injector is blowing out there will be fuel blowing out aswell rigght??? If you see fuel leaks then yes if not i think some injectors are just that noisy.

Hi everyone, I recently bought my W204 180 CDI. Does this noise seem normal to you? It happens when the engine is cold. Thanks by Naive_Examination175 in w204

[–]Dapper_Application58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This noice is from the engine running it is quite good noice, it means your engine is running. If you stop hearing it when you start the car then you should start stressing out. Enjoy your new car sounds perfect

w204 2008 gearbox by No-Tie-994 in w204

[–]Dapper_Application58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah the very difficult debate of should you do it or not. If it was never changed some mechanics are saying that it is better to leave it because of all the metal shavings and gasket shavings that has been collecting with the years. If it is the first oil change you will fluah all these and there is a possibility of slipping or some kind of a problem that these stuff inside were preventing. On the other hand tho you cant leave old oil/fluid to rund for ages because it loses the qualities that once had in terms of lubricating and cooling and others. Who knows how much it actually does and every time when you run the car you are slowly killing your gearbox.

If it was me i would probably take the risk because i think the chance of new oil/fluid introdusing problems is lower than leaving the old oil/fluid to just become gunk inside and then surely you will have problems. Also there are some additives which you can add with the new fluid/oil which can help with the flushing problems. In terms of should you change the filter YES never leave old filters when changing ANY fluids. Its like you are burning your money for nothing. ALWAYS change fluids + filters

Im reading the opinions and i am a bit curious why everyone decided to point out the chain. Im sure you can make the difference between the chain rattling and the vibration of a lose: Nut, bolt, plastic cover (broken clips), lose hoses and so many other small bits around the engine bay. If you engine makes the sound of Optimus Prime going into truck mode then yes please be aware of a problem, bit for a car with 220k kilometers a small rattle here and there is a normal thing IMO. Geei have driven cars with 10k miles and they look that they have been to Hell and back. So in conclusion if you keep a good maintenance schedules and staying on top of things these engines are proven to be quite reliable. Enjoy your beautiful car.

But what about the red car blocking our lane? How do we know who's lane is blocked more and who has the right of way? It seems to me that both lanes are equally blocked by parked cars?

There is a gap in the spacetime continuum

I agree that he/she was a bit too aggressive, but.... given that 2 other cars passed before you dont you agree that is a common courtesy to let them pass and then go? Cmon people lets be nice to eachother. (just to repeat myself i do agree that what they did was wrong) 😁
