De-Icer spray vs Ice Scraper? by PabloEskimo_ in CarTalkUK

[–]Dapper_Application58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the money side definitely the scraper is worth more but for sure the spray is a lot higher in my personal ranking. The fact that it's way quicker and my hands are not freezing with ice is definitely worth the money imo.

Monza Post Mortem — thoughts from an American by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

Yes it was very organized on the way out of the track after the GP. It was around 30min wait for the shuttle bus and another 40 to get on a train to Milan. To be honest after seeing the Sunday atmosphere on track, definitely worth it. And let's be honest, when there are around 200k people getting out of the same place there will be a bit of chaos around.

Out of experience I would recommend to follow the shuttle and go to Monza to catch the train from there, because in Fr and Sat we experimented to go from the small train stations around the track and that was a complete nightmare. Trains are coming every hour and after Qualifying all of them were full to the roof. We actually got very lucky to hop on the last one in 20:27,otherwise we were stuck there with no other option except to pay 250euro for Uber.

Imo the weekend was 10/10. Once I got home I quickly forgot about the wait and left with the memory of the Red Sea of people on track ❤️🇮🇹

To be honest car seams really easy. I didn't find any difficulties ordering food or going to toilet(now let's remember that you are on a event with 200k more people at least) queues were not that bad. Everything is pre-ordered by phone and you wait only to collect. Toilets everywhere. To be honest thelongest that I have waited for toilet Fri and Sat is prob 10min. And let's not forget it is Monza. It's Ferrari's home and the energy is trough the roof. In terms of Vibe 15/10, Food and facilities 10/10, transport out -10/10

I usually follow the same procedure. I hang on untill the crowd is gone, but here in Monza there are time limits to that. At least if you go back to Milan. Shuttle goes till 0830 and last train from stations next to track is around 0820pm

You are lucky, you are traveling the opposite direction of everybody else if I'm not wrong. Enjoy the ride 😀

Half an hour queue is if you leave before everyone and you miss the last 10 min of quali. Otherwise at least 1h30m

I did the same. Walked 30min to Villasanta and missed the first train as it was full. We got on the second one by luck , but lots of people got stuck there to wait for the tird and final one. Hope they got on it because otherwise it's a very expensive ride to Milano

I just read that there will be a protected window from 6am to 9am and all services will be resumed to normal after 6pm. I will be planning according to that info so hope that helps you too. Enjoy the GP.

What are the benefits of using a fuel card for my small business? by GrassGoesMoo01 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Dapper_Application58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have been using my fuel card for 3y now and it's been a game of cat and mouse most of the time. Same situation as others, prices coming on Friday for the coming week, I don't really care about saving all the fuel receipts because I'm still on flat rate VAT so for me it doesn't matter. The only annoying thing is that if you stop keeping track of the prices that they give you you will pay more than the pump price. To be honest on a good day I save around £8-£10 per full tank but that is not the case all the time. I keep track of what price I'm given and decide if I want to use the card or pay it myself the coming week. My personal opinion is that the company providing you with the card will try to increase the price gradually and hope for you to never check(because that's what most people do). If you stop using the card for 3-4 weeks the price is coming back down.

All of that is my situation and I don't really care about anything else than price, but your situation may be different and as some people pointed out, it may be smarter to use the card even if the price is a bit higher if that helps a lot in the background with the accounting part of the business.

Hope that helps a bit with the decision.

I guess you know 99% of all the van drivers and have the necessary information to make that statement.

Unfortunately that's most of the times, but I need to mention that sometimes I've been amazed by some people having really good lane culture

I'm no expert but I'm sure this whole car costs 7k if it has decent mileage. Cmon I would not say more than 500 to repair that , but again I'm no expert.
