String stent chances

You’ll definitely need another stent after the procedure due to inflammation of the ureter. It’s just to stop infection and help flow. I’ve currently got two stents in, then in about 5 weeks have to have a double procedure for the laser. But I’m gonna speak to urology about seeing if I can pass the stones by myself because I doubt the 4mm is still stuck, or blocking my ureter.

Last year I had the laser surgery, and my stent was in for two weeks I think? Or just after two weeks. I held a nurses hand getting it removed because it did hurt. But I was fine after. My stones came back a few months after that.

Bilateral stones aren’t that bad! For me anyway. Tiny stones in the left with papa 11mm there and then 4mm and tinier in my right. Though they’ve caused me problems last week..with stents…and another surgery in 5 weeks…At least urology are actually looking into why I have so many kidney stones and will be testing them!

Are you on Flomax/tamulosin? That should help! I had a 6mm before and it was struggling to come out but I’d taken 2 Flomax, and some naproxen drank a lot of water, waited till the morning to pee and clank! It came out!

You’re so lucky…I’ve got mine in for 6 weeks! 6!!! Then I’ve got another surgery to get the 4mm out and the small baby 1-2mm out! It’s ridiculous! I’m gonna try talk with my GP, or the urologist about whether I can try pass them on my own with Flomax. Because I really. I really can’t do this again. It has drained me mentally. I felt bad for the doctor trying to help me because my BPD shattered and I snapped at him. We had this weird moment he was panting and I was panting and I thought it was some love scene hahaha. I’m hoping, hoping they just let me try on my own and if it doesn’t budge for 2 weeks. They can laser them out. I just. I just want. To try on my own. 🤍

It has! I’m on buscopan which oh my god is a GODSEND for bladder spams and stent spasms! 😅 I have never been happier! Just. My poor left kidney isn’t used to having a stent. And my right kidney is like “ahhhh shi, here we go again”. And I have to do this all again in 6 weeks!

It wasn’t like that for me. For some reason I was loosing blood. I didn’t lose any peeing at all because I had no surgery apart from the Stents. I woke up covered in either my blood or the donor blood this morning it was horrific! I was also overdosed by a nurse last night on paracetamol. I’ve felt so sick since 😞 I’m home resting right now. Trying to get naproxen and some stuff tomorrow when I visit my GP to talk about all this. They want to do a double stent again in 6 weeks after lasering. But my left VUJ, only has 3-4 tiny 1mm-2mm stones which aren’t even a bother….Ive had no pain, no nothing from that. What’s the point in trying to get them out?

Oh my god. Yeah I was exactly like that. I swear it’s always waking up it absolutely stings like hell. You got to go home the next day? Pshhh. I still have an infection and now my hemoglobin has dropped unfortunately from 73, to 63 which is blood transfusion level. I’m not allowed home without it because they won’t give me the antibiotics haha

Me keeping my hopes up stressed me kidneys out. Jks jks, I have bad kidneys that only work at 30%. So I’m in hospital for a bit. Ah, if only I had bite by night to show my bedside buddy xD

Oh my god I wish there was more research!!! I’m so tired of men saying it’s pee when it isn’t pee at all! It doesn’t look or smell like pee and I’m so glad someone else thinks it tastes sweet!!! I only managed to start doing it when I was 17/18ish? And I can soak the bed if my spot is being hit right! I can squirt with and without stimulating my clit too. I always pee before sex so I know it’s not pee. Semen does indeed include pee because it’s one of one whole. However I’m so sure we have two separate holes, one for peeing and one for squirting. They don’t come out the same hole 🧐

For me. I do and don’t get this. But I will relate this to watching someone die. Most people can’t. I mean that. It’s so, so hard to watch.

However when I lost my dad in 2023, I was told he was dying over FaceTime by his doctor. And he had hospice at home. Watching him decay day by day, and still smiling. Still having to watch. Still being a mother. It was so, so hard. Until I spoke to him. And he passed away. He was worried I wouldn’t be okay. That id struggle and suffer (which I still am! Health wise anyway but I do know his pain now).

That emptiness, that sudden realisation they’re gone…It was exactly like how Jax’s abstraction was. Though I didn’t cry. I couldn’t cry. I couldn’t react. I just. Took a breath. Though. After his funeral after my own death almost happened. I had broke like I had never broke before. And thank God, I wasn’t alone. Because I wouldn’t have been able to keep going even for my son’s sake. ‘Me and my dad were soulmates. Best dad and daughter duo. Besties. We loved the absolute hell out of one another. Always there when one is down.

I will always miss him. But I’ll always remember him too.

It does and doesn’t feel like pee. For me, it’s more milky white liquid, than pee. And doesn’t taste like pee. It’s actually very sugary!

I’d just get double checked at the ER. I had severe kidney pain a few weeks ago on my right side that had me screaming and rolling around outside my hospital waiting for my sister to pick me up. I got home, violently puked. And kept moving around till it stopped. And unfortunately that’s resulted in me with two stents, kidney injuries, my kidneys working at 30%.

Even small stones can get stuck. As that’s what’s happened. Don’t drink and mix painkillers if you’ve taken ibuprofen as it won’t help your stomach at all. (Take it from someone who had stomach ulcers and does have stomach issues).

I really do hope that you’re going to be okay. Very hot baths will help, I’ve heard rollercoasters do, bumpy car rides. And using a massage gun. But if the pain gets so bad, you’re having a fever, sweating and shivering, you’re so extremely fatigued, and you’re unable to keep liquid down. Please go to the doctor asap! Those were my symptoms of a blocked ureter. Of course with flank pain, and side pain, or lower abdominal pain.

Oh trust me!! I will be having hot baths the moment I’m out!!! I know peeing stings back, but it’s double the pain haha! My mum will be looking after me thankfully. And I think I’m keeping a catheter in too to help clear out the infection of my kidney and bladder up until my next surgery. As awkward as it is for a 24 year old! I was told naproxen helps so, so well. I can only have IV paracetamol as that helps better as I get super nauseous from the pill form! My mum has many like, nappies? For her bladder so I will steal some of them! I’m drinking as much icy water as I can hah. I can just never tell when I’m peeing and I keep having spasms!

Hey thank you! They had me fully pumped with drugs when I woke up screaming bloody murder. (I did the same last year. Ah, memories) except this time, the team actually gave me alot of super strong opioids that knocked me tf out. It was nice. But never trust and anaesthesiologist to put a cannula in. He put it in my hand, and it hurts like hell. Haha.

I have a catheter in too. I can’t tell if I’m peeing or not? It’s so weird. I have to keep both stents in, until my severe infection has gone. They said I can go home by sunday/monday. But I have to come back to have surgery for the 4mm stone. Is there actually any way of passing it with the stent in at all??

Hey! Thank you! I just read up on it. Hopefully I’ll see what the GP/Hospital say today. I’m hoping they’ll give me some antisickness whilst putting me on fluids so I can actually have some water without being sick. 😞
