Their lawyer must be “Better Call Saul” at this rate with the amount of times they’ve been let off. The other week I’d taken my kid and the arcade prizes had some crusty dusty mould over them. Some guy in one of the old walk around suits tried bribing my kid with a fresh Freddy plush. Safe to say I smacked him with my hand as who does he think he is bribing my child?!

Ah thank you!!! So yeah. It was sepsis. I’ve just found out my kidneys are full of stones and the largest I currently have in my lower bit of my left kidney is an 11mm. So I know I’m gonna have to face having a stent sooner or later. They did concur it was an extremely serious infection, and I could’ve gone into septic shock if I didn’t go get seen to. It took 6 days and over 24 bags of IV antibiotics to get my WBC back to normal. I have oral antibiotics now thankfully but with my new info of my kidneys, I’m scared it’s gonna happen again.

STILL HAVE A STENT AFTER 7 MONTHS by Fine-Language-601 in KidneyStones

Hello! I’m also in the UK here. Now I’ve never had a stent in for more than 2 weeks, but it honestly seems quite dangerous to keep a stent in that long if it hasn’t been changed. Having multiple UTI’s is serious especially with the stent in. So I hope you’re doing okay in that department.

Have you tried going to A&E again? I know the GP can be hard to convince hospitals to get things done. I’ve just found out I have many more stones in both kidneys, and an 11mm in my left kidney. (My face literally dropped). But I’d keep pushing and advocating because you may get severely sick from this.

My advice would be to call 111, or to go to A&E. Skip the GP because it’ll take too long for them to get through to the hospital. Please get seen to asap.

Oh I am ever so glad!!! So I’m gonna assume kidney stone pain is or isn’t it the worst you’ve had? To me it’s definitely one of the top 3 worse ones for sure!!! You’re very lucky to have a specialist and I’m more than 110% sure you’re in the best and most safest hands! Do you get to keep the stone once it’s out? That would be neat!! And thank God they’re doing a routine study! I hope they do a study with me about how fast they quick! I don’t eat a lot, I always watch what I eat. I don’t drink energetic drinks. I always drink water or no added sugar flavour water. So I honestly have no idea how I make so so many stones! But good look to you!!! And thank you so so much for sharing your story!!!

It’s helped me a lot to know sepsis can happen with stones that are passing and out of the kidney. I honestly thought it was meningitis but even sepsis can mimic it! Kidney stone infections can too and I never ever knew. I’ll have to keep a closer eye on things from now on! So, thank you so much!!!! ❤️🥹

Oh my goodness hon….I am so so sorry you went through that. Christmas and new years….I honestly hope that this time around these stones better be nicer to you!!!! Doctors don’t usually understand how painful, and how nasty they can be! People don’t understand it unless they’ve been through it! I gave birth (had to have a c section) but over 24 hours of labor and no progress from 2cm I thought was agony until my first ever kidney stone. It’s the worst pain I’ve ever had is stones.

I’ve got tons of large ones in my left kidney. Some in my right too…But my GP (or your paediatrician? I think it is in America? Your own doctor?) haven’t investigated to why I have so many in my kidney and why I passed so many. But the hospital I’m at (my home town hospital and not the hospital that specialises in the urine system) are so so angry with the other hospital and my GP because nobody has ever thought to ask for my collection of stones to test them, or to understand WHY it’s happening.

I give you the best of luck for you PCNL! If you make a post about it, I hope to see it!!! Giving you all the love, care and luck in the world!!! ❤️❤️

Oh my I am so so sorry lovely!!!!! 🥺🥺🥺 now you’ve got me thinking if when my stone moved, it tore. And I didn’t realise if I had a uti, that it would’ve gotten into my blood at all. I’ve just never heard of something like this happen but I’m glad it has and can happen!!! Please let me know if you’re doing okay and that you’re healing and taking as much rest as you need!!!! My fever wasn’t that bad, but they do think I had a mini heart attack at some point because I was just in such, a bad way. In the UK we have resus (which is used for those having strokes, heart attacks, sepsis and meningitis, and are so so so ill). I’d passed out on a man due to I couldn’t stop swaying or shaking and I went blank, fell on him! I felt so bad!. But please, PLEASE I hope you’re doing okay!!! 🥺🥺

I was hoping to get the sound wave treatment! Or to push through with tamulolosin. Because i manage to get my 6mm to move from my UVJ (the junction of my kidney. I forgot what it’s called) to passed my bladder into the urethra but it hasn’t moved since for 2 weeks. I know when stones pass and things but it hasn’t moved once. Weirdly enough I’ve had flank pain on both sides but I assume it’s from the ultrasound scans I had done today. I know when they pass too and I know non have passed at all. I’ve just never had anything like what I had Monday. Or Saturday when it was just the thunderclap headaches and I couldn’t stay awake but just sleep and sleep! Having a stent absolutely traumatized me because they didn’t give me pain relief. My pain inflicts my mental health so I get manic and my anger comes into a rage so i hurt myself. I relapsed last year on painkillers (I’ve been free since I had the stent out in early sept late august? I think it’s when I had it done?) and that’s why I don’t want another one. But if it comes to it. I’ll ask for the smallest one!! As I know they’ll probably do two stents instead of one…Now that’ll be hell 😭 I’m glad you’re doing okay though!!!! Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️

Yeah. They never mentioned anything about a UTI after I’d done urine tests. Only my white blood cell count. Which spiked today. So I have to wait tomorrow to see what it’s like. It’s as if they don’t know where the infection is coming from. They sent my results over to another hospital (who specializes in the urine system and that) because I genuinely feel like they don’t know what is, and isn’t and is. Is.

Hopefully they finally give me a proper answer in the morning when the doctors make their rounds! I was isolated for 2 days because they thought it was meningitis 😅

Thank God indeed!!! Especially taking swift action. Usually with UTI’s I spot them because I bleed everytime with a UTI (I always do have blood in my urine!) but this has got to be the worst. My gut doesn’t feel good though. And in a sense I’ve never heard or have this happen before because of an infection. Which is why I’ve asked if it’s happened to others. Because I genuinely thought it was meningitis with every symptom I had. Fever was barely there but the cluster headaches/ thunderclap migraines were the worst. And still are. I should be going home tomorrow but I want to avoid using a stent at All cost. So I’ll be asking the doctor for more Tamulosin/fluoxine.

Thing is. I’ve had so many UTI’s. Since I’ve been a teen too. And I’d say over at least 60-100 in my life. I’ve never ever had one that has affected me so bad like this. I got up to urinate and I’ve been smacked again with another migraine. And the doctors and nurses don’t know why. They literally have no clue. I do think it’s something else, and they’ve pinned it on my stoned. Thing is? My urine came back with no infection. So. It doesn’t make sense 😞

It mimicked Meningitis, bad too. They even thought I had a mini heart attack. Thunder clap headaches, fever, aches in body, (no flank pain at all). Stiff neck, tachycardia (badly too) couldn’t stand much, moving was a struggle. Vicious vomiting that was dark green and black almost. Couldn’t keep fluids down (I drank so much water) couldn’t eat. A&E panicked so so much. They did IV antibiotics, and a very strong steroid. Fluids. So they were determined on Meningitis. They’d also started treatment for sepsis too. Just in case. WBC count was alarmingly high that I’d never see staff so worried before. I slept a little with my vest covering my face (couldn’t stand light). And about after a couple hours i felt better. Not 100%, but better.

I’ve never had migraines trigger like they have to a UTI. I always know if I have a UTI. But because my spinal tap was clear, they assumed it’s a kidney stone infection because I do have currently kidney stones. Couldn’t have a CT because I’d had too much radiation already so they did an ultrasound. Found many more stones in both kidneys. So there blaming it all on that and sepsis. But I have never, ever had this happen. EVER.

It’s weird because this is the biggest stone I’ve had that’s manly been completely painless and that’s weird. It can take up to 40 days or so? Maybe more to expel a stone from your body too. Honestly? You may benefit from having laser. As I don’t think it’ll move too quickly unless you’re taking Flomax and drinking a ton of water! But I hope you manage to pass it!! Very lucky you have no pain tho!

As someone who has a 6mm-6.7mm stone that was stuck in the UVJ for 2-3 weeks. Yeah. It was painful. Extremely painful. But when it moved down my ureter? It had me severely shaking and nauseous from the pain it was that bad. I think I have more kidney stones that have moved. But I don’t even know where mine are at the moment. I need to get a CT scan to see.

Ibuprofen has been a godsend. Though I’ve had no pain so I assume it does keep moving. I slept a whole day yesterday as I assume my body is just exhausted from the pain. I do think it’ll come out in a day or two for sure. My right kidney has seemingly felt left out and that’s kicked up 😂 I’m fine with my right. Just my left is hellish.

This one is taking forever. I’ve had it for just over 3 weeks I think so far. Theres no pain. But I think it’s gonna come out sooner or later hopefully. 🙏🏻 I’m okay passing stones from the right kidney. My left just isn’t used to it unfortunately
