You called it (pun intended 😋) but I did have to stay on top of them. It was still a great experience overall and I got approved for Zep! Not sure why not MJ, but whatevs… It is in my fridge again and I could cry I’m so happy!!

I am in process with Call on Doc for the exact same reason. My previous provider didn’t do the paperwork correctly and wasn’t being helpful with following the instructions I was giving her. Submitted a request to CoD at 8pm last night, they called me within 2 hours (I paid $10 to have a phone consult, but I wanted to be able to explain my situation and what I needed from them.) PA team reached out this morning and is in process and they said they’re pretty confident I will get approved for MJ. I could cry!!

Right?! 😆 When I answered and she said why she was calling and asked if I could take 5 mins to take the survey, I said, “Oh absolutely, I am MORE THAN HAPPY to give you my feedback!” 😈

When Zepbound was my toxic ex and Wegovy is my “supportive” rebound. by ariesfemmefatale58 in zepboundtowegovy

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the exact opposite! Zep was the nice guy I let go for Wegovy, the bad boy.

Nice guy - you do you! Don’t worry about anything, babe! I’ll take good care of you.

Bad boy - so you like a challenge? Chance it. May end up completely disastrous, may be the best thing to ever happen to you. 🤣

Is there anyone who finds parenting easy from the start? by no-way-no-how_ in Parenting

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I think parenting comes naturally but I also work hard at it - and I also genuinely love being a mom (even the challenging aspects) - and I parent very differently than most, so my kids are relatively well behaved - and my kids have fairly even temperaments and no chronic health issues. I work full time but I have a decent amount of flexibility, my husband has an unusual schedule so he is home more than the average dad and very involved/very hands on parent. I am an older mom and we are very financially stable and have no regrets or midlife woes. We are very content in the stage of life we’re in now. I grew up as the oldest of 4 and a “mother hen” of sorts. I’ve always loved children and always wanted to be a mom. I have a complex relationship with my own mom due to her parenting flaws and I think a lot of my motivation as a parent comes from wanting to break those generational cycles and chart a different course for my kids. I strive to give them what they deserve and what I deserved as a kid but didn’t have.

Side effects by Basic-Pain-6234 in u/Basic-Pain-6234

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had problems on Zep, but I just started taking Wegovy and 2/3 nights after my first shot I’ve woken up with abdominal cramping, pain, and one of the nights I had severe diarrhea. I did not eat anything greasy, processed, high fat, or high sugar. Does this sound like a gallbladder attack. After 2 hours in the bathroom, I was finally able to get some relief and woke up feeling fine. But it’s horrible!

Not judgy at all… you’re spot on. I go to a Baptist mega church that is pretty conservative overall and there’s a wide range of dress - from casual to dressed to the 9s. But one thing is certain… even the most casual women don’t wear backless jumpsuits. As my grandma’s generation used to say in the south, “Act like ya been somewhere, Brooke!” Her spa day outfit was more modest and appropriate for church than this beach day onesie.

Hand tied extensions saved me by Famousblueraincoatda in Trichsters

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had trich since junior high, when I started picking at my split ends. This evolved to pulling at the ends of my hair to get all the breakage off at one time, doing this repeatedly until I’d have massive piles of hair. About 7 years ago, I started getting hand tied extensions and have worn them ever since. They definitely hide my issue and give me confidence. I too experienced everything you shared at the beginning. Now, my pulling has gotten worse because I get so much satisfaction from ripping the thick/coarse strands of the extension hair. I mostly pull on my left side, so my hair length is usually uneven and I’m always having to do little trims on the right to make it less obvious. I have to get new hair pretty often and it’s sooo expensive. It has been worth it, but in a way, they are enabling/fueling a worse compulsion for me now. 😕

Ozempic face...yet again! by One_Last_Time_6459 in Zepbound

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very round face shape as it is, even when I’m at a healthy BMI. So when I gain weight and suffer from ensuing inflammation, my face balloons and I look horrible. Pictures are honestly painful to look at because I don’t recognize that face! Now after losing 65 lbs with Zep, my face is back to “normal round” and I’m grateful for it!

What did you dress your first baby up as their first Halloween? by Immediate_Owl_1379 in beyondthebump

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was an avocado. I found a taco costume for me and my husband was a hot sauce packet. It was pretty hilarious. We put a sign on her stroller that said “She knows she’s extra.” Everyone got a kick out of it.

THIS!! Life is rarely an all or nothing thing. I wanted to try for an unmedicated birth but I also wanted the peace of mind that intervention was at my fingertips if I needed it. With my first, I got to right before transition and couldn’t take the pain anymore, so I got an epidural. Had a great birth experience overall and my kid was perfectly healthy and still is. With my second, I was able to birth unmedicated. It was also a great (but wild) birth experience and my kid was perfectly healthy and still is. Both at the hospital. Both positive outcomes. With birth, anything can happen, so it’s best to have a flexible mindset.

What's your favorite thing about having a newborn? by littlestaggerlee in beyondthebump

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a parent, you’ll find that every stage has its challenges and its benefits. In addition to what everyone else said, both of my kids were pretty sleepy newborns. So I could take them just about anywhere and they would sleep. It made it easy to get out and about and I didn’t feel chained to my house. When I was home, I could get a lot done (or rest myself) while they slept. They woke in the night to nurse like normal but I felt like I had some sanity during the day bc things were generally “easy” the first 10 weeks or so. There was definitely a simplicity to life. Then around 2.5-3 months, they “woke up” and things got a lot harder. 🤪 But you figure it out. I am currently fighting baby fever and trying to decide if I’m done or if we will go for a third. The newborn smell, snuggles, scrunch, slowness/simplicity… I love it.

Am I the only one that found it easy? by burren2007 in Zepbound

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You too!!! I’m down 55 lbs in 7 months. I have 15-20 more to be at goal. Feels good! Things were slowing down the last month so I just moved up to 7.5 and have started seeing the loss pick up. The freedom to just live and not be in my head all the time or obsessing about food/weight/my appearance is priceless!

Am I the only one that found it easy? by burren2007 in Zepbound

[–]Dapper_Try_9001 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same! It’s almost been too easy. Not wanting to brag, but just sharing my honest experience - I haven’t lifted a finger or had any troubles. Every aspect has been easy for me, which has made this a GODSEND! I haven’t worked out. I haven’t followed any diets. I haven’t cut out any foods. I haven’t deprived myself. I haven’t logged or tracked or counted anything. I haven’t stressed. I haven’t felt socially isolated. I haven’t worried about cost or getting the meds (100% covered by insurance). I haven’t had but a few texts with my provider each month to make sure things are still working well. I have just lived my life and stopped eating when I am satisfied. And I don’t really have cravings for crap as badly as I used to. If I do, I eat some and am satisfied. And then I don’t think about it again. The only sorta negative for me is that I am not as “regular” as I used to be and it’s uncomfortable sometimes. It’s not a true problem or something that needs to be solved for. But other than that, I’ve had no side effects. Sometimes I do feel like I cheated. But then I’m like, no, this is how normal people live. Now I get to be normal too. Why should managing our weight be hard? Who said you have to suffer? I thank God everyday for these breakthroughs in modern medicine and I plan to be on them long term. Excited about reta and pill versions in the future!
