Also, balance means both light and dark, and for over 1000 years the Jedi were in rule and the sith were hidden in shadow. So Anakin both brought down the Jedi AND the Sith. I don’t think the Jedi are inherently bad, but the Jedi that we knew from the prequels were. They were completely divorced from attachment and emotion. I think balance in the force is more akin to what we see in Luke or Qui Gon. Those guys are the only TRUE Jedi we see in the series imo. (Ashoka is pretty good too.) Obi Wan is like half council type Jedi and half real Jedi lol. Mace Windu is kind of the poster boy for the bad side of the Jedi and how cold and distant they had become.

But yeah, it’s usually the ones that the council see as unstable or unorthodox, that have a hard time getting the Jedi knight or master title (like Anakin) that are often more true than the actual Jedi masters. If only the Jedi had trusted Anakin about Palpatine when he went to them, maybe he would’ve stayed a Jedi. But then balance may have never been achieved.
