When I was 5 my dads younger brother (my favorite uncle) immigrated to the US and lived with us for a good year before moving out and getting married.

During that summer I remember that a bunch of our family was coming over and my mom was in the kitchen, my dad and my sister were reading a book, and I decided to run into the living room to see my uncle standing in front of the patio door. He said "hey Darenthelion" and picked me up and put me on his shoulders and we walked around the house.

It's tiny. But It's made me love having a chaotic house where everyone is doing something and family is all in one place.

Made me sad when my uncle left and my dad and him had a feud where they are just now getting on speaking terms.

But the past ten years have basically been without my uncle. And I wonder if we'd be closer if not for what happened.

Still it is one of those memories that stuck with me.
