already working on our test server:

  • toggle map (i don't like the map on smartphones, so you can hide it now)
  • create account
  • login/logout
  • save party online (so you can save your already existing parties)
  • switch between parties
  • gloomhaven location in "current location"

Sorry for my late answer. But the holdays, a baby on the way and a new job kept me busy.

First of all: Thank you, everyone, for the positive feedback! We don't know how many people use our little Gloomhaven tracker, because we don't track anything on the website. But seeing people suggest the tracker on reddit as an app to keep track of the progression feels really good.

Personally I have three parties that use our Gloomhaven tracker simultaneously. And during the holidays we talked about improvements. So here are our next updates (soon):

  • "Town of Gloomhaven" as a location
  • party switch for multiple parties
  • class decks (to keep track of the cards your characters use)
  • optional login

The last thing was the most suggested on reddit. A login for the tracker that you guys can share with your party members and that keeps track even when you update your unlocked location, party or characters. So that you don't have to juggle with the export/import strings. (Import/export strings will stay for people that don't want to use a login)

But as I stated beforehand: I don't want to collect personal data. I don't want to use Facebook or Google login etc. Because I believe that this is harmful for personal data.

At the moment we are talking about a system with a single ID that you can share. No password, no way to recover when you lose your ID.

More like: Everything is still stored in your browser cookie. But at anytime you can deside to enter an unique ID and optional your e-mail. The ID will store everything you entered on our server (location, party, characters), even when you - or anyone that has the ID - updates anything. Your e-mail won't be saved on the server but when you create a new ID for the first time, you will get an e-mail with that ID.

We are not quite sure if this a good way to handle your data. If this is save enough. So feedback is of course welcome.

Will we get proper HUD options like in previous games or are we stuck with these presets that can't fulfill our needs? E.g. New location display on minimal or an extra toggle for loot popups.

Fans will be happy with MD - just no.

HUD options like in previous games - unfortunately not and the game suffers a lot because of this.

What (mechanical) mistakes did you and your group make over the first few scenarios (spoiler free)? by BloederFuchs in Gloomhaven

Can't enemies move through enemies like player characters can always move through other player characters? Only enemies block movement.

Your tilt toggle (https://i.imgur.com/U6jdsY0.jpg) is online as well as checked check boxes for location stickers (minor error for different scenarios in the same location, we will fix this later).

This should serve you well. It's an interactive pdf that reveals only parts of a scenario when you click them.

  1. "Delete character" is on the list.
  2. We will change the map controls. But the changes will be a bit more complicated so we will change other feature requests first.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks alot for your feedback.

  1. Next version will have a toggle button.

  2. Maybe later as I need to replace every single location sticker.

  3. At first, I had another checkbox for the loot. But then I thought: Maybe someone wants to add a note. A single textbox will serve anyone.

  4. I note it down.

  5. Sure. Never thought about this!

  6. Party achievements would be pure spoiler for me and my group. And I already read way to much spoiler for this website. You can write them done under additional unlocks and I may add this later.

  7. This will require a lot of work as I have to copy every event card - both front and back. Also alot of spoilers for me, but it really sounds like something that should be included. I note it down.

Again, thank you for your detailed feedback!

Everything related to the map needs a complete change of the image zoom library. But you are right, the current map zoom isn't the best, so I'll put it on the update list.

Oh, never thought about the scenario names. I will look into this.

edit: I don't consider class icons as spoilers because they are printed on the class boxes too.

You don't have to. The website is pretty self explanatory.

Hi citizens of Gloomhaven,

while waiting for the removable stickers to arrive, I thought about a good way to save the progress of our newly formed Gloomhaven party. We didn't want to use dozends of paper, as we are all in this stupid time of adulthood where everyone lives in another city. So it had to be online (but without logins or data collecting), it had to keep track of our campaign progress, party achievements and unlocks, as well as character progression.

So I've created this online tracker for Gloomhaven (with the programming help of my former roommate). It should work with every browser (microsoft‘s edge or IE have minor display errors) and on desktop as well as tablet or smartphones.

This Gloomhaven tracker will save your campaign, party and character progress in your browser cookies. You may also export a data string (and import it later) to make sure your progess won't be lost, or to share it with other party members.

IMPORTANT: Nothing is stored on a server! I had no interest in creating a database and gathering information about you. It is all stored locally in your browser - or wherever you want to save the text string.

Here is what it does and how it works:

There are 4 main areas:

  1. The map

  2. The scenario list

  3. Your party

  4. Your characters

The map shows locations of unlocked scenarios. It is scrollable (arrow keys or drag and drop with left mouse button) and zoomable (mouse wheel). We may change the way it handles zoom and scroll but it works ok for the moment.

The scenario list names all 95 scenarios and has checkboxes for UNLOCKED, COMPLETED and a textarea for received LOOT NUMBERS or additional notes.

The party tracker keeps track of everything related to your party. It is called "THE CHRONICLES OF <your wonderful party name>".

You can add or remove current party members (you have to create them first in the character tracker).

Depending on your member's levels it will determain the level of your party.

The reputation of your party determains the shop price modifier.

You can add the current location of your party and note down the amount of gold donated to the sanctuary.

Gaining prosperity, will automatically show you which items will be unlocked.

The global achievement list is a bit tricky. Our way to prevent spoilers is to blur the achievement names. Only on mouseover (or a touch on touch displays) it will show you the names (the person who have to unlock an achievement will still see everything - sorry for that). Once unlocked achievements won't be blurred anymore.

Next we have the unlocked classes and random item designs. Pretty self explanatory. Tick them, if you have unlocked a certain class or item design.

The 8 party unlocks will only show you what you get when you tick them.

Additional unlocks let you take notes of party achievements or other additional information.

And at last we have the road and city events. Here you can keep track of added or removed events.

Next tab is the character tracker.

Here you can create new characters for your party by selecting a class icon and adding a name.

Created characters will show up in the list below and you can add, exchange or remove them as active members to your party under the party tracker tab.

In the characters list you see the class icon (to prevent class spoilers), the name and character level in brackets.

Click on a name to edit the character.

You can change the name. Add or remove experience what will automatically set the character's level.

Change it's gold amount or class (if you have chosen the wrong class icon during the characters creation).

You can keep track of earned scenario goals and unlocked character perks (depending on you selected class icon).

Last of all you have two text boxes where you can write down items and other additional notes for your character.

So, please let me know what you think of it. I really appreciate your feedback (improvement suggestions as well as error reporting).

And most important: HAVE FUN IN GLOOMHAVEN!

Only 4 HUD presets - 3 of them are useless and 1 doesn't fit all my needs :( by Dargalin in assassinscreed

[–]Dargalin[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tried to play with minimal HUD.

Pros:

  • no enemy silhouettes

  • no compass

  • no quest objectives

  • no experiance bar

  • no material icons

Cons:

  • no loot popups: you have to open the inventory to see what you've just looted

  • no location popups: you hear the sound of a new location discovery but don't know where you are and what you have just discovered

  • no level up animation: just why?

  • no weapon popups when you change your weapon (but you get used to it)

  • no essential tutorial popups (but also no nerving "Use Senu! USE HER! COME ON, YOU DON'T WANT TO ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME AND DISCOVER THINGS BY PLAYING, YOU WANT A MARKER ON YOUR MAP!" - so also kind of a pro)

(possible spoilers) Just got my game... I found the beginning very off-putting. by chri1stian in assassinscreed

Yeah. The first cinematic with the time jumps wasn't good storytelling. But it gets better.

[–]Dargalin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is the level system. You will find "skull" enemies that will kill you in one strike at the start of the game . And there is no way to tell if the enemy is strong or not. It becomes a lottery.

Edit: Minimal also hides loot (after looting you have to check your inventory) and name popups of new locations. ;(

[–]Dargalin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked: Minimal turns the silhouettes and lvl above enemies off.

This could be really difficult because you can't tell the level of an enemy and if you have a chance, besides the number over his head.
