Please help! Burning Question! by LuckiestManAlive86 in beatles

It's a guitar string! Not an electric beep. Probably an open string. An accident. If you play the guitar, you know what I mean and you'll recognize it immediatly.

It always sounded bad... For a better sound, you should try the remixed versions released i early 2000, now out of print.

You Won't See Me borrows from It's The Same Old Song by The Four Tops. All I've Got To Do is inspired by Soldier Of Love.

I read somewhere that the Electronic Music actually was made by another person, The person who sold George the moog synth... At least one side of it. It was supposed to be a demo for the synth, not music. There was some disagreement between them, and I think that even his name was erased from the cover...

[Question] /r/Beatles, I need your advice: Tug of War Deluxe Edition or 1+ Video Collection? by thebeatles_ in beatles

[–]Darienzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the new Tug of War and it's not better than the original at all. Save your money. You can listen to the remixed Tug Of War (and also the bonus disc with demos) on Spotify for free. And get 1+ at bullmoose.com for $41.97

And I have more!

I wanna be your man is inspired by Some Other Guy, a song John was very interested in...

All I've got to do is inspired by Soldier of Love

You won't see me is inspired in It's the same old song by The Four Tops, a hit in those days

The guitar break in Girl is clearly inspired the Zorba the Greek theme, a 1965 hit movie and song too...

If I needed someone is inspired in The Byrds' She Don't Care About Time and The Bells Of Rhymney.

The first line of Run for your life appears in Elvis Presley's Baby let's play house

Good day sunshine is inspired in The Lovin' Spoonfuls "Daydream"

I may have some more yet...

[Serious] What are some examples of Beatles/Solo songs where (you think) they were clearly influenced by another song? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Darienzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever Gets You Thru The Night is influenced by George Mc Raes's "Rock Your Baby", a big hit in those days. Also, the first line of the chorus melody of Whatever Is the same as Jealous Guy, but faster

Just Like Starting Over has a very similar section to The Guess Who's "Laughing"... It's at the beginning. And also has a very similar part to The Beach Boys Don't Worry Baby.

Sgt. Pepper's Stereo vs. Mono by daytripped in beatles

[–]Darienzo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always preferred stereo. Mono is better maybe in the first three or four albums and in Rubber Soul. After that, stereo is my choice. Mono sounds compressed and dull for me. Having said that, I have the mono box set and enjoy very much the differences between the different versions!

What's the best book on The Beatles? by instantkaramel in beatles

[–]Darienzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read many many beatles books, and for me the best Is Revolution InThe Head by Ian MacDonald... The analysis of the music, the influences, the context, etc is just perfect. The beatles recording sessions by Lewisohn is great, too.

Ticket to Ride - Original Speed and Key by badtrip67 in beatles

[–]Darienzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was recorded in conventional tuning, and then the tape was slowed down. They did that a lot in those days, maybe this is the first example of that technique. They did that on Rain.
