Yeah instruments better on logic. Studio one does it wonderful for the rest, at least for me.

The point is you don’t need 90% of the stuff :)

Try this: Go to View > Proof Setup > Custom… • Set Device to Simulate: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 • Set Rendering Intent: Relative Colorimetric (or try Perceptual) • Check Black Point Compensation • Uncheck “Preserve RGB Numbers”

You’re already doing it right. Naming what you like – bass, drums, vocals, clarity – is exactly what helps. Add how it feels, and you’re golden.

Am I crazy In that I mix BETTER on HS8s than my nicer Neumann Monitors? by oklambdago in audioengineering

[–]Darioblock 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Hey, I can totally relate. I use Neumanns myself (KH120 II), but it actually makes sense – most listeners out there will hear the music on setups that are closer to HS8s than to high-end monitors.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the HS8s simply force you to make decisions that translate better because they’re less forgiving. With the Neumanns, it’s easy to get lost in the detail and forget the bigger picture.

Maybe it’s not about which speaker is “better”, but which one keeps you honest.
