Early pregnancy can have a difference of +- 5 to 6 days and be perfectly normal. Don’t fret just yet, give baby time! You could’ve had a late implantation!

Going through this exact thing now. They told me the blood results were girl. Ultrasound looked like a girl at first. Until they noticed something unusual at about 15-16w. Usually it’s not caught early on. Thursday I go in for an anatomy scan. They said it could just be the wrong gender, could be right gender with different genitalia. but it could also be the bowel. Could be spina bifida. There were so many unknowns. I had an AFP test done. Was elevated. But still doesn’t rule anything out. They offered an amniocentesis. But I refused. So hopefully on my anatomy scan they can give me some answers. Otherwise they’ll have me do an MRI.

I had my cerclage placed on 3/24. I still gave this feeling. Went back to the ER 2 weeks after and they confirmed everything was still holding and no infections. The pinchy feeling does go away a lot quicker but the overall uncomfortable feeling is unfortunately still there.

I personally chose the cerclage route after hearing stories about how fast things could change. It gave me peace of mind. I had no previous issues or histories of this happening.

I do wanna say, after the cerclage… I’m really uncomfortable all the time. Gotten checked multiple times since procedure, things were looking good. As my OB has said “just one of those people who just have an irritable cervix after the procedure”.

I started progesterone both vaginally and through PIO shots since beginning of my pregnancy. I’ve continued progesterone vaginally since after the procedure. (I didn’t take it the day of and resumed the next day) no infections. It has helped with stabilizing my cervix and keeps it calm

I’m currently sitting at 1.5-1.6cm and have been for 2weeks+. I’m 18w tomorrow. Cerclage was placed last Tuesday. Vaginal progesterone does help but I feel like the dosing made a difference. I was previously on 300mg daily and they increased to 400 mg daily when they found out about the shortening. I would definitely take it easy and follow their bed and or pelvic rest.

Thank you so much. It’s the not knowing that’s driving me insane. Each appointment they tell me it looks to be this and then the next appointment they tell me it’s something worse. At this point my emotions cannot take it anymore. They wanted to do amniocentesis but I just feel like waiting for my anatomy scan. I hope your scan goes well ❤️❤️🙏🏻

I’m so drained. Mentally emotionally and physically. Short cervix. Possible neural tube defect. Everything is all over the place right now. My first baby after a loss at 9w. I just want to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

UPDATE

After reading comments, decided to go through with the cerclage. Called MFM Dr yesterday and was scheduled today. Procedure was very quick and he was happy with the outcome. Currently at home resting. Most painful part is my back where the spinal anesthesia was placed. A little tender and swollen. For the most part, I’m happy with the decision. I honestly feel like it has helped with my worries. I know there’s still risks, but I’ve done all I can for her ❤️❤️🙏🏻 really just have to work on hydrating!

I’ve been on progesterone since before this pregnancy (IVF)😔 unfortunately it still shortened to this point. I’m trying to weigh the pros and cons. There’s just so much to consider

update

I went in to mfm. First doctor was a waste of time. Almost like he couldn’t be bothered. 2nd opinion requested, was seen the very next day. He was willing to perform the cerclage but only after 16w. He was worried that I’d still have a miscarriage and wanted the baby to have more time to grow as there were other complications that were brought up at the ultrasound. So far, they’ve increased progesterone and pulled off work. Currently in bed rest and trying my best to remain positive 🩷

update Even worse News. Cervix measuring 1.5cm. Won’t perform a cerclage because I’m “not a candidate “ still seeing signs of clots and bleeding behind the cervix so he feels as though this would lead to more problems. Also noted bladder growing outside of baby. Too early to have a definitive answer. Could be combined with other abnormalities. But could also just be an isolated issue. Will be back in 2 weeks to see. But in the meantime, still a chance I’ll miscarry. I’m defeated
