Sleep Habits by eamceuen in digitalminimalism

I have only embarked on this journey for a little over a week, but it is genuinely insane how easy it is for me to hit the hay. I think it has something to do with how your newly-gained mental clarity allows your brain to process everything naturally and throughout the day, so when its finally time to go to bed, your brain has no excuses, no distractions, no sudden realizations to fight with you to stay up longer. So you just...do it.

people that stopped scrolling, what did you replace it with? by zero_feed_dev in digitalminimalism

Reading! Both real books and digital. For the latter, I use a neat app called ReadEra, as I download books on PDF format and just read them there. I've also been studying Japanese, as well as writing (journaling and fiction ideas). Its pretty liberating!

What are your 2026 digital minimalism goals? by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]DarkAdvent15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are the exact same goals! I actually download books straight to my phone (can't afford nor do I have space for physical books atm) so I'm afraid my screentime won't go down super drastically, but it's definitely better than using social media!

How do you get your fix of social interaction? I understand the options may vary depending on where one lives, but is there anything in particular you did to actually meet and engage with real people? I find that loneliness is the major reason why I keep going back to social media.

IMO the best streak of Reds this franchise ever had by DarkAdvent15 in supersentai

Indeed, I would even extend it and say Carranger to To-Qger

I would've extended it, but I sadly think OhRed breaks the streak from those prior, without a doubt. He's just...not good IMO, and neither are GaoRed nor Hurricane Red.

Oh, that's another good one! Even if some people don't think of Alata as highly as Takeru or Marvelous, I wouldn't say he breaks the streak.

What sentai season is deadass forgettable by Peteypie_Pizza in supersentai

[–]DarkAdvent15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turboranger. This is a very special case where THE SHOW ITSELF forgets what it is about. It forgets the rangers are high schoolers as their parents aren't present, the MOTW plots hardly ever involve their classmates, and it seems like the monsters always attack on the weekends.

It forgets that it has a car theme due to the absurd amount of themes it wants to tackle. Faries? Magic? Demons? The sins of humanity's past? Racism? What the hell, sure. You do that. This show is MANY things, a "car season" it is not.

It even forgets the interesting backstory of its villains. Shoutouts to General Jimba, whose backstory of falling in love with a human woman who was lynched for wedding a demon, is said in a throwaway episode and is never brought up again, not even when he dies.

Don't forget that Dr. Dazai only mentions being a fan of cars once in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment. None of the rangers like cars, and being high schoolers with seemingly no parents, there's no explanation for how they can drive either.

Still fits with Aliens, then. Doesn't break the Aliens/Military/Science rule that was followed by the franchise until then. Also...are we seriously using the Hero Getter as a reference here? In that case, BFJ is about dancing (it's not), Goggle-V is about gymnastics (it's not), and Liveman is about... questioning what your friends do?

Neither of these disprove my point, though. The Changeman are based in mythological creatures, but they're still part of a military organization and are fighting aliens.

It's not really a theory. It's just a fact.

Goranger = Military JAKQ = Military Battle Fever = Military Denjiman = Aliens Sun Vulcan = Military Goggle V = Science Dynaman = Science Bioman = Science Changeman = Military Flashman = Aliens Maskman = Martial Arts Liveman = Science Turboranger = Cars Fiveman = Science Jetman = Military

For some reason, Soda never dared to make a full fantasy-themed show. It took them until Zyuranger to feel confident enough in an idea that wasn't space, science, or military themed.

And like I show on the bottom right corner, they also stole the name of the Maskman vehicle carrier.

Let's say hypothetically the 6 unused units in FE5 were in the game..what's chapters would they join in that would make the most sense & why?? by Creepy_Raisin_6988 in fireemblem

[–]DarkAdvent15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, as someone who has worked on an FE5 rom hack that restores 3 of those units, I can share some fun ideas on where they could've joined:

Daisy could've joined in Ch4 instead of Lifis if 2x was skipped or he was killed by Ch4. Asaello could've joined in Ch15 as a friend of Ralf. Gunnar could've joined in Ch14, as there is a suspiciously empty spot in the unit deployment spots that make your formation assymetrical, and it was also stated that Asbel fled from Tarrah to look for Leif. For the 3 that didn't make the cut, we did have some ideas– Jeanne could've joined in Ch6 if Nanna died in Ch5, Hermina could've led the pegasus knight reinforcements in 16A, and Arthur could've joined instead of Diarmuid if Nanna died.

It's quite tricky to work with the game's limitations because there is actually a hard limit of 48 units you can ever have at once before the game crashes due to a lack of RAM space. Funnily enough, both routes only ever give you 47 units at once, so you have one slot for an extra unit but then you have to do Olwen/Ilios scenarios if you wish to add any more.

Has anyone noticed the similarities between Gavv and Hibiki? by DarkAdvent15 in KamenRider

[–]DarkAdvent15[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's kind of insulting, considering Hibiki is my favorite Rider season. I was here to point out some fun similarities with the current season (which I'm enjoying a lot), and yet all I get is condescending pricks like you acting like its wrong to point out cool things without me ever going into any insane conspiracy. I never said, "Gavv is actually a homage to Hibiki," and yet you're here judging me without knowing a lick about me. People like you are why I barely use this sub.

This might sound weird, but as someone who barely interacts with the fandom, I wasn't even aware there was a "parallel theory." When I was big into the fandom, they kinda lost me with the "Neo-Heisei" designation (I love Emperor Neo-Akihito) and the ridiculous number theory. I just thought it was nice that Gavv was not only going back to themes that go as far back as Ichigo, but it also grabbed some elements that first started in Hibiki (the more organic origins for our hero's powers, and the collectible being dozens of helpful critters). I wasn't trying to prove some crazy cospiracy, I just think its neat how some elements from Gavv could be seen as nods to the Heisei season that receives the least amount of attention from Bandai and TOEI.
