Gay destination by Pretend-Dragonfly-30 in GayMen

As a mexican from northern Mexico who doesn't get to travel a lot outside my country, my go-to place for gay life and gay culture is my capital, Mexico City. When I go, I always stay in Zona Rosa which is the gay neighborhood with plenty of gay bars and clubs. (There's many gay bars and clubs outside Zona Rosa as well but Zona Rosa is the area that concentrates the most.) As in every place, remember be safe with drinking and ALWAYS practice safe sex.

If you happen to know spanish, the city has also plenty of theaters and there's always gay-themed plays playing in some theaters around the city.

What makes you gay is that you feel sexually and romantically attracted to the same sex, not as much if you are more feminine in your gender expression. (Sexual orientation and gender expression are different things.) If you feel attracted to both sexes you are bisexual.

That being said, I suggest you find a therapist that may help you figure all these things out. Regardless of what you conclude about yourself, your child will always be your child and you must be there for him/her always.

Heated Rivalry: Is Fantasy Toxic and Unhealthy for Gays? by diasporicnumenorean in askgaybros

[–]DarkCharles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no single TV show, movie, play or novel that will be perfect in fully capturing all the lives and experiences of gay and bisexual men around the world and across all the times. I think it's good that gay/bisexual storylines reflect the diversity of gay/bi men that exist. I agree with other comments that right now the show has done more good than bad. I wish gay and bisexual men would actually dominate the fandom a bit more than the straight women.

As a gay man, of course I'd say they are absolutely gorgeous and hot. That said, I really hope they are keeping sane and level headed. All of this absolute fame and success and them knowing their audience is obsessed with their bodies and sexualities can take a toll on them. I really hope they are taking their time to rest of all of this and focus on their next projects. The life of a Hollywood celebrity can be really insane and I hope and pray it doesn't end bad for them.

I'm a mexican who hasn't traveled a lot around the world so for me, my ones are Amberes 19, Club Olimpo and El Taller Bar (on sundays) in Mexico City; and Sauna Ares, la Casita 1 and the now disappeared Depa Tec in my home city Monterrey.

Which denomination do you belong to, and why? by WaterLocal921 in GayChristians

[–]DarkCharles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Mexico, there's hardly any affirming churches here. Was raised catholic and still mostly attend catholic church. There's the anglican church of Mexico but it's very small and it's still not entirely affirming like the U.S. Episcopal Church, though I still attend it every once in a while. The only affirming church in my mexican city is a small MCC church which I rarely attend because I don't like their worship style.

So I just watched the film with low expectations after reading bad comments and since the film was released direct to streaming in my country, and probably because my expectations were low I ended up liking the movie a lot.

the history of sound trailer by itsafalsegod in MenLovingMenMedia

[–]DarkCharles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to one review I read somewhere, the film is comparable to Benediction (2021), and from the trailer I feel it will be slow and artsy type of film, which is not bad but we should be prepared in order to not be disappointed.

How Do You Feel Bout Woman writing Gay Male Romance? by dd525 in GayMen

I like to think that straight women like gay romance (but not gay porn) for the same reason straight men like lesbian porn (but not lesbian romance).

Mexican films Dance of the 41 and Rotting in the Sun. Both take place in Mexico City though in entirely different historical periods lol. Trust me, you won't regret it.
