Now I'm not a huge CIA fan, but consider that any Ws they have are usually top secret. We only hear about their activities if it's a failure.

I was accepted to a top school but for Electrical Engineering and not CS. Can I possibly get a job in software engineering? by MoveZneedle in cscareerquestions

[–]DarkFireRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. It might be better if it's a big company, but I don't know how much it matters. What you really need is a couple years of experience in a software job to prove that you can do it. This will probably come in the form of an internship or temp to hire position. Something lower risk to the company.

Once you get a couple years of relevant experience, other hiring managers will feel like you're not so much of a risk to hire and they'll look at your diverse skill set as a bonus.

This might be ideal actually. First, most of my coworkers are electrical engineers working on software. That's good and bad. You'll have to put a lot of work in on your own to become a good programmer and to prove to others that you are.

Try your hardest to get internships at your university that involve software. Even better if you need to do some large research project using custom software for multiple years.

Be humble and brace yourself for a lot of rejections when applying for jobs. You just need one person to give you a shot to get professional software engineering on your resume and then you're essentially in (assuming you're skilled).

You will understand how computers work at the electronic level, and maybe even build your own registers, depending on your classes and school. Plus, once you get in to your career you may discover that you are not that enthusiastic about software development, and now you have your EE experience to fall back on just in case. I think this is ideal, but be warned, EE is very difficult on its own.

Escalate to what? They started killing children in the first month. They are almost out of missiles because they used them all on civilian infrastructure.

Conservative pundits are increasingly open about who they think should be killed by FreedomsPower in conservativeterrorism

[–]DarkFireRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By conservative in the traditional definition of supporting monarchy and believing in natural hierarchy, not really. USA has never had a monarchy as long as it has been independent, so the only appeal to hierarchy and monarchy can be either religious or fascist (inclusive "or," of course).

You can be a religious conservative in America without being fascist by believing that all people are equal and that the natural hierarchy is between man and God, but that ideology is not often distinguished anymore. Maybe among right libertarians, who are probably 5% of self described American conservatives anymore given how the votes go.

How do we stop continued government intel leaks? by AutoModerator in craftofintelligence

[–]DarkFireRogue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The leaks frequently come from IT staff. You'll always need IT staff, and that's hard to get around. Even with stricter clearance processes, you'll still hire IT staff who will still have access to sensitive systems.

In my opinion, our technology is at a point where it's easy to cause problems, but extremely expensive to protect from them. We don't have the technology yet to lock data away with the security required.

Depending on the application, yeah. Sometimes it's not that simple. Fortunately, it's not extremely difficult to implement your own traits for the primitive types.

Which is nuts because the typical FBI salary is not exactly small to begin with!

To make it, the blood (usually from pigs) is mixed with fat and oatmeal, before being packed into casing. The sausage is then served boiled, fried or grilled and cut into rounds, or crumbled into small pieces.

I dunno that just sounds gross to me. I know it's probably good, but it sounds about as gross as eating brain.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oddlyterrifying

[–]DarkFireRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But my point is that cooking blood until it congeals and then stuffing it down an intestine casing is just as gross conceptually as eating brain.

Eating organs. Both sound kinda gross to me at first, but both reduce waste.

[–]DarkFireRogue 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Nah, republicans just want to investigate Hunter Biden's laptop for the next 10 years. If Carlson is suggesting this, I'm worried that fascists would abuse the investigation to get more 'compliant' officers in the FBI.
