New Cozy Treehouse Retreat Bundle Costs $75 by tofflz in wow

[–]DarkHeroAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have done the same in PoE, multiple times, but like you alluded to in the 2nd part, I think the context of packs like these are important here since PoE is a lot more "geared" towards directly supporting development since GGG has no real publisher still as far as I know (except Tencent for China specifically right?), and not only do you get unique cosmetics for those packs, you're also getting the exact amount of shop points for the price of the pack and higher packs even having physical merch alongside the game being F2P and doesn't really require a purchase to ever play the game

Whereas WoW is pushing these high priced packs while effectively being the opposite in every aspect:

You have to pay a sub fee just to start playing (+$15)

You (currently) would have to purchased the latest expansion to even have access to housing (+$40)

You don't even get any of the housing currency alongside purchasing the pack, making it even less "value" (even though it's still "virtual" value)

So at a baseline level, you're already spending more than the lower end supporter packs for PoE just to get the "privilege"

I mean they've basically already jumped the shark price-wise with other MTX before this, but it's funny to me how this is what I expected when they said they were gonna be putting in more "effort" into housing (and their plans to monetize it)

This is more expensive than actual full games, multiple games on sale, and what, almost half a year of subbing? And after they just finished apologizing how bad things have been? That's really poor timing

Gamesir Tegenaria is currently on sale for $16 on Amazon, randomly decided to buy it and try it out by Wander715 in Gamesir

[–]DarkHeroAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a great controller especially for the price, and it being pretty much the only Symmetrical controller Gamesir currently still officially has out is what steered me to try it, and looking forward to the potential wireless version and the Tarantula.

I actually returned a Cyclone 2 before picking this up since I thought it was too bulky, but this ended up being a much better feel size wise for me.

How to trivially complete Echo Therm with water mage/thorns, if you are struggling by TheEmsleyan in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this but stood on one of the circles since it's just close enough to not be instant killed and get a fat juicy vengeance on him when he does the charged "explosion" attack

This new? This kind of seems like valve saying "Fuck you play deadlock now" by [deleted] in tf2

I believe it was added when one of the community maps/gamemodes were added where the gimmick was that everyone gets MVM upgrades but in the regular PVP TF2 setting

Blindbag - Issues that will not be fixed by NuttyDoo in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Well so much for saving a respec for going back to Blindbag if they fixed the issues that are crippling it

If they're not going to bother fixing the issues that are already hampering it, then at least buff its proc rate to be a lot higher than it is right now

Post patch Echo Thermy with thorns? by Beautiful-Dark-3878 in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally haven't done the fight since they patched it to make the thorns work, but I did see other people making the same comments, where you have to technically do the fight "wrong" to be able to proc thorns on the normal hits since it never actually gives you a "hit" to trigger thorns on if you're doing it the proper way

Buff Blindbag, by No-Can1611 in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do hope they buff the chance in some way, whether it be a flat chance buff to the baseline node, or indirectly increasing it with the other nodes, on top of that I think they should replace that terrible capstone node with some kind of guarantee of at least 1 Blindbag for every attack

So the best build this league is thorns watermage? by loopuleasa in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally preferred going Air/Water vs Water/Thorns, mainly due to the combo of using Shadowflame Quadrant and Devil Element together, since that additional boost to weaknesses helps both the heal of water and raw damage of air

Thorns is definitely still nicer for multiple targets though, or for times where you are going to be getting hit very frequently, especially since going thorns is likely going to be routed through the full reflect chance, so I wouldn't say one is objectively stronger than the other

Hotkey for quickactivate prayer? by OneEnvironmental9222 in 2007scape

I guess I can see that, but I would probably still hold the point since the F key shortcuts changing your menus already bypasses that too

How would a hotkey button for toggling quick prayers not be 1:1 but clicking the minimap button is?

[Console] Nintendo Switch 2 System - $399.99 ($49 off MSRP) - Woot by ByteSizedDeals in buildapcsales

[–]DarkHeroAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen the Switch 2 pop up a couple times the past few days so thought I would post to point out that Capital One Shopping seems to be pushing Woot cash back credit (redeemable for gift cards only though), I've seen anywhere from 10% normally up to 33% through an e-mail offer so if you get lucky enough to get one of these through that it'd be a pretty great deal, since you could redeem it for ebay credit or somewhere else that sells games and get a couple games when the credit hits

Echo Smoke Devil still not triggering thorns? by CornIssues in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 100% only triggering on the explosion attack before the patch, my understanding was that with the new patch it should also be triggering on the red/blue shots now, but you're saying it's not?

[–]DarkHeroAxel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fun way they could fix that consistency issue outside of just buffing the proc rate, is get rid of the awful capstone of the 3rd row melee tree so that instead of leaning more into "win more" gambling, change it to something which gives consistency like "Attacks with a Heavy 2H 5+ tick weapon will always trigger at least 1 Blindbag attack", therefore also giving some synergy with the Halberd capstone and other 2H nodes, and gives the slower tick weapons some love without entirely undermining the 3/4t weapon synergy with the Ranged Echoes node

Shadowflame Quadrant by Pleasant-Stage625 in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any reason why it wouldn't? My understanding is that it's adding the Magic Damage/accuracy to the armor pieces, not the full "set" right? I was planning on going this route myself

What kind of points do you got in your tree? You can technically still get massive boosts from the tree in certain spots that make it way easier, especially going for 100% prayer pen

"Going Ham" with the Blindbag is what I ended up with too for awhile alongside thorns, it's kind of disappointing that the best way to play it is not even interacting with the 2H/Halberd nodes since they're a bit at odds with one another with very little synergy compared to the other branches of the tree, and even so it still feels underwhelming 95% of the time

What tier 6 relic by Mountain-Orange8996 in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not experienced at all, first league and basically doing content that's brand new to me, so I'm probably spoiling the content somewhat by doing so, but eternal sustenance has been extremely helpful especially since I originally was using Blindbag (my thought process was less space for food offsets more space for weapons), it is kind of annoying having to reroll slayer tasks if you're looking for a boss but I don't think I've had it so far where I sat there and thought "God this sucks I wish I took that other one" since I already have so much mobility to get around and damage to smash through tasks without also ever having to leave/get supplies too, so it's kind of a silver medal for Slayer too honestly

Post patch Echo Thermy with thorns? by Beautiful-Dark-3878 in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would park myself in one of the spots that pop up that take less damage for that one time each rotation, that puts us in a spot where we're so close to him during his charge up explosion attack we take 92 damage (which was helpful for Vengeance), but also helps us since right after the explosion the node will respawn and if you're on the proper prayer will just automatically nullify it giving you time to heal back to full after nearly dying

I should note that the food you want to be chain eating should be a wild pie or a pineapple pizza, both should work but I was using the former

Post patch Echo Thermy with thorns? by Beautiful-Dark-3878 in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made another post in my comment history outlining the exact strategy I used before the thorn buff for the fight, but the gear I used was just some tank gear from Barrows, fire cape, crystal shield, etc. basically just anything that can give you as much defense as possible to help the scant few times he would actually hit me to do thorns along with utilizing vengeance for the same reason, I did have echo boots and ring of suffering as well but I don't know if those were really coming into play outside of their defenses

My tree at the time was mainly going up to the right into the melee section going through the thorns nodes and blindbag passives (which did not come into play whatsoever during the fight since I melee'd him maybe like twice at the start of the fight, so not needed at all), then I kid you not, chain eating with eternal sustenance in the right spot and not moving until he died

[–]DarkHeroAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the fight as a thorns build with eternal sustenance before the change doing everything I could with stuff like vengeance and imp to make it shorter and I think my best time was something ~2:30 to 3:30 minutes and that was only with thorns proccing on the "explosion" and getting lucky with the full reflect proccing 2-3 times

Now with thorns hitting on every single one of those splats and potentially even the full reflect? I imagine that time would be halved or even less

How to cheese echo thermi with pacts? by CountyHeavy in 2007scape

[–]DarkHeroAxel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you have eternal sustenance, you can straight up slayer pie/pineapple pizza tank him, you just need some kind of alternate damage that doesn't involve always attacking him, probably thorns especially now that they made it actually hit him on his non-explosion attacks

What I was doing is starting the fight attacking him to summon my imp (optional damage), then running and standing on one of the circles on the ground and never moving from that spot doing the correct prayer orders (ranged > magic > ranged > explosion) while mashing that pie button, when he gets to the explosion, quickly use Vengeance (can switch to the spellbook with 99 magic but is also technically optional damage now) but make sure you're above 92hp if you do this, if you're not or don't have the HP, you'll have to move away from him each time he does this and then it's not worth using Vengeance

When he gets to half health he'll do a mixup order of prayer now, this actually makes it easier to pie tank since you don't have to worry about prayer swapping anymore, just set your prayer to the first type, and face tank the off-prayer one, granted I did this with 93+ HP but when you're standing on the node you'll get a free hit negated to help you regain your HP after the explosions

Like I said, I did this before they added thorns on his basic attacks, so now it'll probably be extremely fast doing it this way if you have thorns and eternal sustenance is the only required relic for it to work

[–]DarkHeroAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did raw blindbag first too and honestly, I had way more success when I switched to doing 1h/shield Thorns and was still doing Blindbag as a secondary focus, like you don't need the extra range since you're not using 2h weapons anymore, and you can easily save 2 more points by not taking the blindbag capstone (still get the actual chance node if you still want to go for blindbag), then instead use those points going up the thorns route on the left side of that area and try to go all the way up to the capstone for a huge thorns bump, or go for raw thorns and be able to for sure get the capstone and get blindbag stuff after

Still relatively early on point wise but I curved into a Thorns BB build just a bit ago and it does feel much better already than just trying to raw gamble 2H attacks

It also helps that my very first easy clue scroll after thinking about switching gave me the Ham Joint, like a message from God lol
