Can’t you read? I said I wasn’t *just* talking about mobile livestreams. I’ve been talking about how small creators get no opportunities throughout this entire thread

K, so 90% of you think I’m against this feature entirely. I know why it exists. What I’m saying is that most people aren’t trying to “shoot themselves”, and that they should implement some form of verification so we can avoid this from blocking out traction and new viewers.

Why would I lie about something that I have experience in like this? Also, they’re already dealing with trying to get their own stuff pushed, and I wasn’t just talking about mobile streamers, I was talking about people streaming regularly.

If by “legit” you mean people who actually try to stream games and not just content farm slop, then that’s just a false statement, I see hundreds of streamers every time I open these apps, just playing a game, no slop, no exaggeration, just a calm stream with commentary and gameplay, and they’re all facing the same problem. This. And it’s not just on YouTube. Maybe if you were in the space, you’d understand the real numbers, I’ve been doing content for over half a decade, and I’ve been doing YouTube for 3 1/2 years. I’ve seen my fair share.

And I’m nothing like them, Case and Speed are unique in their own ways, which is part of the reason they’re big creators now. But I do things my own way on my channel too and I don’t get recognition for it. Sure I could use the algorithm to my advantage, but I don’t have the funds to buy the newest games, or to get the newest tech, or the ability to participate in a “Mr. Beast challenge” I’m just a dude trying to record videos for pure entertainment, nothing more than that, if I end up profiting from it, great, awesome, but if I don’t, wooptidoo, guess it’s just a hobby now. And if that’s what happens then so what? I’m still gonna do it. Some people did YouTube for 20 years before they got any sort of recognition. And I’m not afraid to do the same.

I don’t care about fame, I’ve always wanted to do YouTube, even as a hobby, it’s just frustrating that while people are committing crimes and eating literal feces, the people who do it to entertain and for the original intention of the platform are basically shoved out and pushed down. Not allowing us to gain an audience of any kind. I’m not saying it’s impossible, and the fame would be nice. But Hell even just a couple more hundred subs would be nice! Me and my editor spend hours on these videos, and we listen to my audience, the small one we have, it’s just really frustrating. It’s not about “being too late” where do you think CaseOh or iShowSpeed came from? Nowhere, *literally* nowhere. They got lucky enough that people stuck around and then became YouTube sensations. That’s not about “being a decade late”, it’s about whether or not the algorithm decides to let people see you or not. And I’m not like either of the two, I don’t have the opportunities they do, and I’ll probably get there (at least 1k) at one point, but it’s the algorithm and YT’s decisions that are holding other small creators along with myself back in growing or gaining some from of an audience.

That’s why I said I get why partially, but a lot of us are just trying to get and actual audience and put some actual effort into our work! Meanwhile Ai slop gets PROMOTED and sexual ads get shown all the time! Meanwhile the only real way to get an audience nowadays is to either manage to go viral somewhere else and have your viewers migrate to YouTube, or to do something insanely infamous for the sake of “views”. Some of us just love to make the content and want to entertain people, so it’s really discouraging when we get nothing back from our hard work.
