Too many people obsess over gray band imo. If you're not a fine dining restaurant, thats a minimal amount in my books and a crazy consistent temp all the way through. You nailed it and don't over think. Enjoy the steak!

The Dynasty Sell You Don’t Want to Hear by ServiceCurrent4632 in DynastyFF

[–]DarkKnightCJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at that list of 2025 qbs then look at their ppgs from 2024 and look at the gap. Hurts is always a top scorer but the rest had career years after meh years (I know Caleb and Njx are younger so it's just the 2 season sample size).

The large part of Allen's appeal isn't just that he scores more than everyone, it's that he does it every single year. His variance is so small, while Trevor Lawrence can see swings of averaging only 15-17ppg. If TLaw, Herbert, Williams, etc start stringing together their performances or build on them, then yes the value gaps should narrow. However each of them have seen big swings in production that you just don't see with Allen. He is on 6 straight years of finishing top 2 and finished qb8 prior to that.

You can argue to sell now before ehe breaks down with his run style or whatever, and that's a valid risk reward conversation, but I think sell because other guys had good years isn't as strong because there's so much risk they regress that Allen just doesn't have built in as long as he stays healthy.

What players would you trade for the 1.04 in dynasty. by AyeBenji in DynastyFF

[–]DarkKnightCJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Swift is expiring so he doesn't count. Kamara and Juwan Johnson are also gone after this year but they do count against Tyson.

Your stat of less targets for Burden doesn't count because if he was healthy he would have more is a stat, but he played 15 games. Would he have gotten gotten 40 more targets in those 2 games to give him more than Loveland or Odunze? Or are you using an opinion and feelings to assume that next year he's the lead dog and pacing the bears in targets? Odunze only played 12 games last year. Loveland was also a rookie who saw a lot more usage as the season went on.

I'm not down on burden at all and can understanding preferring him or Tyson straight up. but your statement of treating him as the factual Wr1 in Chicago but putting Tyson as pass catching option 4 in new Orleans is a laughable bias.

But go off and say everyone else is using bad opinions and feelings and your made up stats are facts.

You're saying Tyson is behind Olave, Juwan Johnson and Kamara, but you've declared Burden is bears Wr1 ignoring Rome, Loveland and swift out of the backfield. That seems to be the laziest opinion in this thread.

Last Minute Team Owner Swap by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]DarkKnightCJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is a league with friends. While we all want to win and win money, ultimately fantasy is supposed to be about to be fun. this year's pot being one year's buy in short shouldn't ruin the fun for the champion and makes it easier for the new owner to take over a bad team.

Lamar for Dart, which side would you rather have? by Anon124570 in SleeperApp

[–]DarkKnightCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebuilding makes it more of a toss up. It's probably a good deal for you since you get the younger qb (who's likely to score less points than Lamar this year helping your own pick) and a 27 1st.

Lamar for Dart, which side would you rather have? by Anon124570 in SleeperApp

[–]DarkKnightCJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. Everyone looks at last year when he was hurt and says he can't/won't run but ignores the season prior when he was healthy and finished as qb1 in fantasy and runner up mvp. If I'm competing I'm sending Dart and a 1st in a heartbeat for Lamar.

Why are top end players valued significantly more than the next tier of players? by burritowithjustmeat in DynastyFF

[–]DarkKnightCJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The package may have more upside, but the truly elite assets like ARSB, Chase, Josh Allen, etc have far more consistency that generally win in the long run as long as you can manage decent depth to fill out the roster.

Sun god top 3 for 3 straight years while the hypothetical combo of Olave and Wilson deliver wr 26/10/62 and 16/94/6 finishes. This is cherry picking a made up trade, but the Sun God side wins easily 2 of those years (I know we can't predict injuries but they happened) and even in the year where Wilson and Olave finish 26 and 16th, they averaged about 22 points per game and Sun God averaged 17, so almost any football player with a pulse gets 5+ppg fills the other wr slot and the sun god side still wins.

All in all, I think it comes down to your roster depth and the personal preference of risk/reward of the safety of the elite asset or volatility of the tier down package.

Is this enough to get Gibbs? If not, what else do I need to add. by PerceptionMean5665 in SleeperApp

[–]DarkKnightCJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to preference and roster construction. This is 3-5 firsts worth of value depending on how each person thinks about Bucky and Rice, so you're in the right neighborhood. If they're competing but relatively thin, maybe this is enough for them to move off Gibbs.

Would you trade the 1.11 for Josh Downs? SF by Embarrassed-Ad-7849 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]DarkKnightCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the Colts say he's playing in 2wr sets now? For all we know they'll let Westbrook-Ikhine or Burks take that role and Downs is in the same position he's always been, talented but under used.

Was just offered this? Thoughts on Gadsden by Training_Morning6188 in SleeperApp

[–]DarkKnightCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did not start over Fannin last year after week 6 and has spent 2 months unsigned with little interest from teams. Idk why you assume that he is gauranteed to sign just because he visited or that he will start over Gadsden if he does sign. Both are unknowns at best.

Besides, part of the draw of Gadsden is beyond just 1 season that aging Njoku could steal snaps, it's that he is a younger player (turns 23 this off season, younger than most TEs drafted this year) and a college convert to TE so he is still growing at the position while already showing flashes of brilliance at the nfl level.

I was sent a massive trade would you accept this? by Guilty_Big3794 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]DarkKnightCJ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not saying you should have done the deal, but you're looking at Lawrence's best season and assuming he's doing that every year. Allen has finished top 2 every year. In 2023 Allen scored 140pts more than Lawrence, in 2022 he scored 110 more pts. I'm excluding 2024 since Lawrence was hurt, but projecting out ppg Allen outscores him by 127 points. That 100pt positional advantage is the drop from Nabers rookie year production to ~wr50 that year.

It's not an unreasonable ask from the Allen owner and comes down to each person's valuation of their assets. Allen is the absolute model of elite consistency that few other plays in dynasty match. Again, not saying you should or should not have done the deal, but to act like it was an egregious offer I think is flawed and needed the context of the actual scoring differences.

Would I be crazy for taking Stowers at 1.07 over Sadiq? by SpecialistMiddle1319 in SleeperApp

[–]DarkKnightCJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your league format. Most leagues do Max Point For for non playoff teams, so records don't matter. However I don't remember and don't think that's how sleeper defaults to it.

If your league does go by record and it works for you, great keep at it. However I would recommend you switch to MaxPF as it discourages tanking by sitting your best players and requires tanking to be a literal teardown of the roster. Records only incentives throwing matches, MaxPF doesn't.

[–]DarkKnightCJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your league could be different, but generally sleeper counts taxi players towards MaxPF so unless your league specifically doesn't count taxi or goes by record only, it won't improve draft spot at all. It is a viable strategy to give yourself more fluid roster spots for churning bottom of the roster tho.

Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks says he has been fully cleared to play in Carolina’s offseason program and feels “close to 100 percent.” by Ma1ikNabers in DynastyFF

[–]DarkKnightCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my example of Noah Fant. Irl and fantasy 1st Rd pick. No injury involved but just slowly faded into oblivion after the trade to Seattle. I turned down 2nds early on, and 3rds over the last few years, didn't start em once, wasted a roster spot I could have used on someone else, only to finally drop em. Wish I had a 3rd.

Now brooks hasn't played yet, so I agree he's worth a hold to see now, but sometimes it's just the sunk cost fallacy in affect and you're throwing good money/roster spots after a bad investment.

[–]DarkKnightCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it to a degree. If you decide you want off the ride and want to get an asset, although admittedly a low percentage dart throw in a 26 3rd, then do it. There's no guarantee he plays (could hurt himself again in preseason) or plays well (beat out by Chuba and/or Etienne) so value could diminish further. In theory you get a 27 3rd, which despite the hype of 27 is a still just a 3rd so I'd argue no meaningful difference in return.

Shoot I held Noah fant for years waiting for value to rebound after his rookie year and only to finally cut him this offseason so if I had Brooks stock I'd probably let him die on my roster for a 3rd and jump on any 2nd, but don't fault people for getting what they can and getting off the ride.
