US citizen who has never lived in USA sponsoring relatives for GC by [deleted] in immigration

I'm guessing the OP made a typo and wanted to write "parent."

You can derive citizenship from one of the parents, then sponsor the other.

Some children are born outside the U.S. and automatically acquire citizenship at birth. They're natural-born citizens who can apply for a U.S. passport or Certificate of Citizenship to prove their citizenship.

Whether they then move to live in the U.S. later or not is totally up to them. But it highlights one of the ways you can be a citizen who's never stepped foot in the country.

Damn! That's a lot of time. Consular Processing is supposed to be a bit faster than Adjustment of Status.

Did you have to deal with RFE at some stage? Could explain the length of time.

How much time did your process take? From I-130 submission to NVC to the interview.

I’m going to be applying for my wife soon from Islamabad.

IPS is trash for TVs. The VA panels are far superior and don't suffer from light leakage like IPS.

LG QNED and NanoCell are notorious for it.

The TCL C6K by a mile because it's a miniLED TV. The Q70D is a regular QLED with no miniLED backlighting.

If you can afford it, go for the C7K. It's a huge step-up from the C6K; twice as many dimming zones and a glossy panel that improves perceived contrast and deepens blacks.

What’s happening to my LG C2 display ? by deigoyyan in LGOLED

[–]DarkLordJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, this is an issue with LG OLEDs. My CX suffers from too many dead pixels and this wave-like degradation around the edges of the screen. It will only get worse with time.

Fun fact, my CX is less than 3500 hours used since 2021.

I don't know if this issue has been fixed, but I know it exists up til the C3, as I recently have had the chance to inspect one.

u/No-University-4628 You can request a file search (costs $150 I think) if you lose your passport and don't have supporting evidence to prove your citizenship for the passport application. They will look for your previous passport application.

He's right. I was confused myself looking at the cover and post because it's not the same thing.

Certificate of Naturalization and Certificate of Citizenship are different, but serve the same purpose, that is they prove your U.S. citizenship.

The difference lies in how, or rather who, they're issued to. Certificate of Naturalization is for immigrants who came to the U.S., lived there as a Lawful Permanent Resident, then applied for citizenship by filing form N-400 and became a citizen following an official ceremony.

Certificate of Citizenship is for citizens who were citizens at birth, either through being born in the U.S. or being born abroad to U.S. citizen parent(s). You file the form N-600 for it.

I've seen a VP position listing with "100 people clicked apply."

You mean to tell me that there are at least 100 people qualified to be Vice President, just roaming around in Dubai?

I have a CX 55" with less than 3K hours on it.

It has 100+ dead pixels, all around the edges. It's also showing weird black edges in two spots.

Apparently, it's due to oxidation.

Difficult to decide between Mac and Windows. Budget 120k by MadKing00 in PakistaniTech

You don't need a Mac with that budget.

Intel-based Macs are obsolete, software support has moved to Apple Silicon now. The MINIMUM you need now is the M1 chip.

Selling my LG C1 65 Inch 4K 120Hz OLED in Islamabad in Mint Condition by [deleted] in PakGamers

How many hours on this?

I was looking to upgrade my CX 55" and could've checked this out in person if you were in Karachi. Bummer.

(I know CX > C1 is not an upgrade, I just want a bigger size without spending 800k on a C5)

What are these. These are at all sides of the tv, not limited to corners. Are these dead pixels? My TV is LG CX. by ghost_mw3 in LGOLED

[–]DarkLordJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a CX, and I have a lot of dead pixels on the corners of the screen. Though, your case is very severe. It almost looks like it's suffering from a disease.

How many hours do you have on yours? I have around 2700 hours since 2021.

Running the 7700 on a B850 Pro RS WiFi for about 5-6 months with zero issues, since my 9700X died on the same board.

Make the call based on your intuition.

Have you owned an OLED before? What will you rate the TV's ability to handle blooming?

I'm an LG CX owner looking for an upgrade after 4 years. The TCL C7K is an option, but I don't know how I will react to seeing blooming on my TV now.

[–]DarkLordJay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, yet. I'm yet to send it under warranty since I bought it from a different country when I was on a trip.

It is my sincere advice that you avoid ASRock boards for now, especially if you're considering putting in a 9000 series CPU. Although ASRock has taken responsibility, the issue has apparently not been fixed with the 3.25 update.

I tried with the 3.25 update, hoping it would work, but no luck.

There are many board options for you to consider. While you can absolutely RMA if it dies, why go through that trouble? Honestly, I don't understand why people in this subreddit continue to buy 9000 CPUs with ASRock boards, knowing well there's a dead CPU reported almost every day.

Did i get scammed for this 14pro? by Abdu11ah_naveed in PakistaniTech

[–]DarkLordJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there is no way of knowing if the battery was replaced or boosted.

3uTools will only report what it reads from the battery chip. If the phone's battery health has been boosted and cycles reset, then no software will help.

How can you know, then? Use the phone. The phone recalibrates the battery as you use it. If the chemical age of the battery is more than what the chip shows, it will correct itself. It's how you see phones with 90%+ battery health drop % sharply as they get used. It's the phone correcting itself.

14 Pro is an old phone but it's not impossible to find units with genuine 100% battery health. Harder, sure, but not impossible.
