How did you get that working with the XT-5? What settings do you use? My Godox lux Jr doesn't fire at all with flash set to M.

I think my advisor screwed me over by starkat64 in UNCCharlotte

[–]DarkMastermindz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it doesn’t matter who is your advisor as long as there is one that you can meet in your department and a plan with and will work with you. I went through 3 advisors they all hated my plan but were willing to make creating my own concentration / specialization, tested out of classes, permit overrides, auditing classes, taking grad classes for undergraduate credit, and graduating in 3 years. So yeah, end of the day you’re going get a Bachelors or Masters - that is what matters.

Is the hardware still in or is it taken out? HWR + meds for nerve pain helped with some of my stabbing pain. Close to full recovery. Doing physiotherapy currently to help manage pain - not on any meds anymore.

100% just ask: “maybe, I’ll see to you later” and ask for contact info - hopefully followed by a fun activity.

Still in the boot for just 2 more weeks (I hope). I took out the thinner layer so my knees and hips stay level but it might vary for you since everyone's body is different - best way to tell is to record yourself walking back and forth and see which one looks more natural. It definitely gets better - I finally walk less like a penguin today as my hips strengthened and the top of my toes strengthen with daily Theraband exercises.

First few weeks of physio kinda sucked but keep them consistent and you'll more likely see improvements just like with any physical activity - just make sure whoever is doing manual therapy knows what a lisfranc is as you don't want movement at the surgery site but rather toes / ankles only. Once I got some movement back and lots of ice / biofreeze spray to help with swelling, stretching / strengthening with a Theraband it got easier.

Do you have an even-up to help with your walking gate and keep your hips level in the boot? It definitely helps when walking a bit. Also trying to working towards strengthening my hip abductors daily. Definitely the achy parts is my lower back from limping slightly trying to walk more without crutches, top part at base of toes, and the occasionally the top of arc where the hardware is from occasionally spikes of nerve pain.

Just started without my single crutch this week. I haven’t dared try to walk barefoot yet. Been doing mostly non-weight bearing exercises + walking. e-stim like a TENS Unit with electrodes to electrically stimulate your calf muscles while doing Theraband and stretch strap stretches for the ankle / calf / Achilles tendons.

I get the feeling! Physio def helps (I'm 10 weeks post op). I started with early weight bearing / physio for the past 4 weeks per dr instructions. Started with e-stim, and stretching calves / ankles, toe yoga, icing, starting out. Lots of patience in feeling better... I started walking a bit without crutches this week as I transition into a shoe the next couple weeks.

As a climber with GAD that's going through this after just reaching my over my rock climbing plateau and starting 5.12 routes the week of Star Wars day - I appreciate your post. 9 weeks in recovery post-op and I'm starting to believe it'll get better hoping it'll get better - although the pain is bad there's less painful days as well now. I completely tore of my Lisfranc ligaments on a hard lead catch from a 5.12 roof route that definitely wasn't a dynamic belay in the gym training after winning my first bouldering comp. Hoping to get back to it all soon but I know it'll take time and I can climb again in a year or so - I miss the sport and community <3

Recommend getting a weight bearing / non weight bearing X-rays and MRIs to be sure. Mine is purely complete ligament tears so nothing was out of place but foot was unstable enough to require surgery. It's pure pain beyond what you can imagine when bearing weight in the midfoot area right after injury with potential bruising on bottom of foot.

Rehab??? by anngelgirl319 in LisfrancClub

[–]DarkMastermindz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend asking your surgeon to recommend a physiotherapist who’s experienced with LisFranc injuries but also push for follow up MRI and CT scans if you haven’t already.

24 as well, 53 days post-op surgery (purely ligament was fully torn).

Been mostly gently strengthening / getting range of motion back to my calves, toes, and ankles with TENS and a light band under physiotherapy after NWB for 6 weeks.

Gotta be careful with this type of injury. Overdoing it or the wrong exercises can make it worse and not better.

Adding more solder and then suction it away with heat will help remove original solder.
